Two-stroke performance, totally in a league of its own. When I had a sports 125 with a power valve, I was always riding it into the powerband all the time regardless. That crisp engine sound and rush of acceleration as well as the looks from pedestrians etc was totally addictive. Indescribable.

These RS250 two-strokes must be a nightmare to live with. Low mpg, use of expensive fully synthetic oil only, expensive tires and brakes, narrow powerband, frequent service intervals and high insurance premiums. Fun, maybe, but I wouldn't buy one, as much as I love two-strokes. The engine must only last about 10000 miles.

Yes the bike indeed sounds like a 125 with the ARROW exhausts and stock airbox. :)

What throAU said is true, the RS 250 doesn't make a lot of top speed at all, it goes around ~210 km/h on the digital tacho.

It's great potential is on Track, the cornering capacity is awesome.

If you want to see the RS 250 with way more power, rpm and a decent sound check out my ONBOARD MOVIE WITH LUFO EXHAUSTS, the bike even with less 1 tooth on the front sprocket made 208 km/h, due to 13000rpm. ;)

i own an rgv250 (same motor as the rs250) and this one looks about right to me. if the 250 is out of its powerband, its a slug, and they really don't have a lot left above 170-180. they'll make 200km/h or so, but it takes a long time above 170 ish to get there. The strength of the 250 2 stroke is cornering ability, there's not much on 2 wheels that will corner quicker.

Thats double de-clutching your thinking of, double clutching is when the bike is a bit slow picking up revs just pull the clutch lever in while your still on the throttle, gives it a bit more pick up, hard on your clutch though

I'll take photos of the exhausts when they're assembled on the RS. We are also thinking of getting another set of pipes with a little different configuration than the LUFO's one, for 12 500rpm, but more peaky engine.

My brother went today with the stock rear wheel for painting in gold like the PVM wheel and assemble the soft Michelin 150/60x17' tire for Trackday.

The MF silencers are the carbon 30cm ones.

The ignition now ends @ TDC @ 0º @ 12500 instead of stock 12000rpm.

We are going to dismantle the rear PVM wheel (5.5) and put the original wheel with a 150/60 soft tire, the difference in performance will be big imo.

We don't like ARROW, we're going to put custom LUFO exhausts GP style with MFactory West silencers on it, hoping to get more 3 - 4 rwhp than the ARROW (63 - 64 rwhp)
