Hello! i'm intrested in this app, but i have one qestion, for this to work, do i need my computer turned on after its synced? or do you only Sync it once?
@StevenlAFl How can I be sure this application is safe? It looks legit enough, but I can't be sure whether you're trying to steal any sort of information. Enlighten me, because I'd really like to use this
@Draaza You don't use your STEAM login, for one. It basically acts as a bridge for chat between your computer and phone. It's just sending information back and forth from Friends Mobile Service
Ok.. It has been nearly a year since you have posted this video. You allegedly have the chat working (as shown in the video). So what is the delay? Either you (A) Made a very good FAKE video, (B) are incompetant to release or (C) never intended to release. So which is it? can it be THAT hard to get a beta out?
@armenof I am sorry about that.. I'll be posting a beta in a few days, due to popular demand. The delay has been from school and other projects that I have been working on.
An important thing to note is that the beta will have many bugs to iron out. It will also require the SDK or a rooted phone to install. I will not have much documentation on it at first.
@StevenlAFl Mann! you have to release! I understand you had school in the way, and work and etc.. but you are teasing us with such videos! and also missing your estimated release! I have root, and the know how, so when ever you decide to release I will gladly download. Also I would pay a reasonable donation for this App...
just getting frustrated at the lack of chat apps, and the constant addition of retarded steam apps that do nothing! Please release! would be very appreciated!!!
Awesome! I own an iTouch but I'm very excited you're creating a chat app for steam! Hopefully when the android app is a success you could create it for iDevices!
@hmmwhatsthisdo Look at the video. It's clearly doing chat. It also clearly shows how steam chat works. If you are asking from a programming aspect, I am un-obliged to tell you.
@hmmwhatsthisdo There is no need for steam guard, because you don't have to enter your credentials at any point. And I am also going to be getting it to work for iPhone.
@eraldorh It's not ready yet. I've been juggling Christmas/family/finals/etc. before. I'm starting development again over the weekend. I hope to get some issues fixed and add a few features before a first release. Don't expect it to be completely polished, though.
Its working tho isnt it, release it on the market as beta and release the updates as they come, 1000s of people have been waiting for something like this since steam never released an api.
From what iv seen it works, and has a decent UI definately worthy of a beta release, Does it stay in memory and run in the back ground?
@eraldorh It does stay in memory and run in background. Gives update messages when a message is received, too. The one thing that it does not do (and this is crucial) is reconnect on disconnect. 3g constantly cuts out depending on where you are, so this would be necessary. Once I add this feature, I also need to make a cleaner looking UI for the chat section in particular.
@StevenlAFl Will this be comeing to the the IpodTouch? I really really want an app like this, I have been using steam for 4 year and always on the go and need something like this.
