I have wanted to take a summer and drive PCH and live out there in the summer months....my dream for a number of years....thx for sharing this...I have seen it once but need to again. Want to travel north and south....and see the entire west coast. hopefully I will make it. :-)
Awesome video man! Great song too. I'm about to move to LA for film school at NYFA: Universal Studios, this just made me crazy excited lol Great job!!
My winter weary eyes would love to see palm trees & water that's not frozen. You are very lucky to be in CA. (As I write this, another stupid snow plow is going down my street.) Video is great...thanks.
Ha! Love it! And I love the timing right at the slow down when that guy lifts his arms. Nice. :) I miss a lot of things about my life in LA. PCH and the strand are high on the list. Thanks for the ride through my old "home town." And I like the angle with the rear view mirror, too. Keep up the good work and good taste in music. ::two thumbs up::
I love hearing this when you are in a good mood and when your not this song will put you in a good mood. Heuy Lewis did a good job with this song in the movie duets!
Where did the talent go? Followed the Legends right into the grave and up to Heaven. Can't wait until He's ready for me to come on up there and rock 'n roll all night :)
I am from Florida and I got the experience to drive up the Pacific Coast Highway with my dad from about where Paso Robles is in conjunction with the PCH up North. I knew right away when I saw the beach it was PCH. Great drive and great video!
Went from Stephen Stills and Love the One Your With to this one. Clearly we ware the same page. Am a New Englander who had the true pleasure of living in Southern California for several years. Learned to surf and came back here with sweet memories. Thanks for othe shoreline shots. Clearly I am overdue for a trip back to Swami's. You made my day!
Thanks for the video. Reminds me of how much I love California, especially southern California. For some reason, your video and this song reminded me of P.O.P. (the old Pacific Ocean Park near Venice) Aging myself here. Those WERE the days.
i go to redondo, hermosa, and manhattan every weekend, im goin tonight with all my friends! southern california is the best!!!!Nice beaches, nice girls ;D
I lived on PCH when i was in Laguna Beach in the early 90's, and you can drive awhile without stopping but not like that, and I think the dissolves work great. I love the slow motion at the songs break around the 2:15 mark. Great stuff, with a lot of subtext.(It's all there!) Thanks for doing this.
I gotta tell you sundroid - this is bar none one of the best things I've ever seen on YouTube. It's genius in its economy and simplicity with the steady shot of passing life by, the rear view mirror in the corner reflecting everything fading into the distance, the brilliant song choice...it's just too good.
dave mason my mind, tap piano keys, groove intime....feeling alright, not feeling to good myself...until now..............Happy Powerball Wednesday to all ya all. aj, somewhere in s. wisconsin
I heard this song the first time I went to San Diego when I was driving down a road just like this. I'm a college student, and can in no WAY afford to go to San Diego. I loved it so much I went again anyway! Love the song, love the place, love this video.
I've heard many people cover this Dave Mason tune and Joe Cocker OWNS IT! Chris Stainton "bluesing" it up on the piano and Cocker's voice are a PERFECT match. Nobody even comes close to this.
Fantastic, like a dream I always have,.... A living picture
postcard of my life, cruising along the coast on another sun drenched day, mellowed by 4:20. It begins in 1970 and continues on to 2008 and beyond. I feel the warm breezes
We New Englanders rarely see this lovely sunny and tropical weather. But the coastline is nice here, too...just much more chilly. :) BTW, did anyone else notice the man on the boardwalk jumping up in unison with the song at timestamp 02:28? Was that planned? Either way, AWESOME video. Thanks for posting.
vibraslap! (that's what mine was called anyway)used in reggae and dub a lot..y'know i had a feeling that was the sound u were after even before i got to it, straaange:)!! Great tune n vid!
Not Southern California traffic. But thanks for reminding me; I do need to acknowledge the contribution of Dave Mason and Steve Winwood to the song, "Feelin' Alright".
