  • DON'T BE FOOLED BY YOUTUBE'S CRAPPY QUALITY!!! This is actually running better than you see it here. I cannot believe some ignorant bastards are saying Crysis doesn't run on Macintosh. It's simply not true. These PC nazi gamers need to do some more research, or have their computers burned.

  • who are all these people? Do they search for this kind of video just to say it's crap?

  • Wow, just wow

  • hahah fucking mac

if you wana play games play it on a pc

  • Can Crysis run on Leopard and Snow Leopard?

  • @nishkov nope, u have to run windows on bootcamp

  • how many fps are you getting here? it looks good. im gonna guess somewhere around 35-45?

  • @futurerichman I'm not a b*** about FPS like some people are. But the lowest frame rate while maintaining smooth motion is 24 frames per second. So as long as my game is running with at that many frames, I should be satisfied. I don't know why people make a big deal about games running at 60 or 90 FPS compared to 50 FPS. The naked eye can see no difference unless you are extensively trained to do so.

Phew. . . with all that said, I still think PC gaming sucks.

  • i want crysis on my new imac ati radeon 4670 lol

  • it looks medium settings dont you think

  • this macbook looks like the one i have here are my specs macbook pro 2007 version wondering if the game can run with thease specs thanks----

    Chipset Model:GeForce 8600M GT Type:Display Bus:PCIe PCIe Lane Width:x16 VRAM (Total):128 MB Vendor:NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID:0x0407 Revision ID:0x00a1 ROM Revision:3175

  • can the just the "macbook" handle it

  • no because it doesnt have a good enough graphics card

  • this helped me decide should i get a alien ware tht will be obsolete in 2 months or a macbook wich wont be obsolete in too months.also for all you angry pc dudes im also gettting a mac book for school work not just games

  • sonicopal build your own or get somebody who can

  • Great vid, one question though... Is this being played on XP or Vista?

  • hmm i dont want to sort say it the wrong way but my only problem is that ppl dont realise that playing a game such as crisys on your mac pro could damage it. Mac Pro less then efficient cooling system and poor component which in terms makes it lighter also makes it heat up when playing big games like crisys. Which simply put coould ruin your computer overtime giving you blurs and glitchs on your screen and slowing down your computers speed. High heat is no computer best friend. Soo use wisely.

  • unless you get a cooling pad

  • what about fan control? heard of it ? could it actually solve the problem? a cooling pad too maybe? no intention to attack just want to know I own a MBP 15 " 2.8 GHZ the new ones adn I'm thinking of adding crysis but I'm concerned about what you say

  • Personally I think the mac can handle it. It's usually used to run other major programs like photo/video editing, and music recording. That takes alot of power. But haven't tried gaming on my mac before, meaby it's time to try.

  • Can it play online games such as WoW

  • Oh yeah! It can run wow on high settings and resolution with an average fps of 40!

  • @tgamer007 Thats sad...

  • wow doesn't need crazy specs.. im running it on my macbook.. it has an integrated graphics.. so the old one.. ur dumb

  • yeah of course

  • no there is no internet -.-

CRYSIS RUNS WITH 40FPS DUDE..... WHY WOULDNT YOU PLAY WoW THEN????

  • wait .... what ?

  • Most computers can It's likely yours does.

  • wow eternal.. why dont people relize this ONE thing...

    there are innovators and imitators

apple would be the innovators =)

  • True :)

  • If you read the video description or knew what you were talking about you would know that its not the 9400m but the 8600m GT. Also that laptop that you specify has an 18.4inch screen. it might as well be a desktop!

  • wow, 8600M sucks even wrose.

18.4, yup. then you can be really dorky playing crysis at starbucks..

  • "then you can be really dorky playing crysis at starbucks."

He'd probably be getting some serious productive work done while at Starbucks with a Macbook Pro, rather than just dicking about playing games.

BTW if I was after a good gaming laptop, I'd probably go with a well built Alienware or similar, rather than a cheaply made creaky Asus.

  • Keep on using that mac. you know nothing about gaming laptops

sure, all mac users are productive people...yeah right. All of you are losers like the rest of windows users. The difference is that we didn't pay 3x as much for our personal computer that carries mediocre hardware

cheaply made creaky Asus? what are you basing this on? all companies: apple, hp, dell, alienware, asus buy components, assemble, then sell. they don't make anything. Asus just charges less.

    ok dumdum? go ilife

  • note this is a macbook pro from 08, now they have macbooks that run games better than ps3's. the only downside to mac gaming is the library of games

  • "ASUS W90 Series W90Vp-X1 on newegg for $2,200."

Not the sort of laptop I'd want, 6 kilogram huge beast. It may run Crysis like better than any other laptop, but laptops are about portability are they not?

  • most gaming laptops are heavy dude, all of they their premium components.

that laptop came with a free backpack

ASUS W90 Series W90Vp-X2 came with a quad core cpu now

  • agreed

  • yeah that's understandable. all i was originally saying is to be honest on how the quality of crysis is when it's running on your laptop because we dont want people thinking it looks/runs awesomely then goes out and buys it ending up disapointed. but yeah it's good for people to know how it will run. just be a little more honest. I know how a laptop 8600m gt 512mb runs crysis. and it might be alright for some. but yeah good forpeople who want to know how their future como will run things.

  • how cliche can you get? i really didnt think i would have to tell you why i stated my specs and setting but it seems that some people on here are just to thick to figure it out. all im saying is $2000+ dollar laptop play crysis at shitty settinngs isnt worth the youtube video.

  • yeah you can definately get a pc at a cheaper price with similar performance...it's just the macbook pro is very nice looking...some are willing to pay for that alone

  • Don't tell me you honestly believe that.

  • that's true i guess. i know some people that would buy a mac because of the case.

  • i can play at all high settings at 1440 x 900 at a constant 30 fps on my laptop. cost me $1300 brand new.

  • i know it's not full settings but if i were to play at 720p i could push most all settings to very high.

  • Why dont you be honest with the people watching this video and tell them that the shaders and shadows are on low. those are the only thing that make the game look good. and they kill the performance when turned up. too bad you cant see the true quality from a youtube video. either way you are being very dishonest by saying crysis runs like a champ on a macbook pro. i feel sorry for anyone who goes out any buys one for games because of these vids. they will be very disapointed. just being honest.

  • note. you might MIGHT have the shaders and shadows on med. but doubt both are on med.

  • can i play crysis on macbook air?!?! o,0

  • lol probably not.

  • what's your specs and i'll happily tell you

  • you're both a load of pig shit -.-

  • Amen!

    ^_^

  • will this run on a normal macbook as smooth as it does in this video? I don't recall the graphics card, or if it even has one..

  • Not possible, the GPU in the Macbook is too weak, in fact, it can't even boot up the game with integrated graphics. you need the geforce 8 series of dedicated video cards or higher.

  • Alright, I'll have to stick to my plan of building an alienware =D. I'm half way there anyway, idk why I even asked!

  • You don't need 8 series or higher (my desktop has a 7 series), but it won't look as good. Integrated cards (Macbook) will definitely not work.

  • Um... This is a Macbook PRO not a macbook, the MacBook Pro does indeed have a dedicated GPU... NOT an integrated. Ur confusing the MacBook with the MacBook pro.

  • you sure? they call it "Discrete Graphics" what's the difference between dedicated and discrete...I think there's a difference

  • yeah, when the graphics card is not "dedicated" then it's partially shared throughout the computer instead of solely on games or other media. Macbook Pros are definitely "dedicated."

  • Here we go again. You must not pay attention. I'm running it at 1280x720 as I stated in the beginning of the video. The framerate is consistent and I never said the graphics were top notch but they are pretty good. And you say it's barely playable but you're watching me play it. And you're better off not bringing Vista to a gunfight. Thanks for the comment.

  • how come i dont see you stating 1280x720? am i missing something. i believe you that it's running at the rez but i dont see where you state the settings you are playing at anywhere. sorry im prolly blind.

  • ok found it on video not labled Pt. 1

  • @DeFxMeTaL lol.. vista..

  • @DeFxMeTaL dude, there is nothing WORSE than vista, i would personally rather have Windows 98 -_-

  • what is it running on, boot camp?

    Good vid!

  • dur. jk

i can run it as well on my macbook pro. optimal settings are "high" it only has trouble with cutscenes

  • i have the Imac, and it plays excellent!

    nice vid! 5 stars!

  • nice i wish i had the macbook pro but i guess i'll get it in the future as i save up for it...

  • what's the difference (fps wise), for crysis with 2gb vs 4gb ram? Is it very noticeable? Are there less "hiccups?" in the game?

  • i got a macbook pro and it can play games REALLY WELL, UT3 MAXED OUT 45fps, cod4 MAXED OUT 30fps, crysis medium and high 25fps, all cs series maxed out 60 fps caped! I'm so surprised about macs gaming, I'm thinking of getting an imac or mac pro to replace my dell desktop thats old!

  • I actually buy my MBP mostly influenced by ur videos discussing the it's capabi;ity to play games.

even though i dun play games as much as i used to right now, I havent found a single flaw on this piece of mastery.

  • cOO L GAME!

  • hey first comment woot! lol cool video i want that game!

  • Wow! Inever thought a macbook could do that!!

  • You should see what the Mac Pro can do it's like having 2 computers in one, SoldierKnowsBest Crysis Warhead is coming soon can't wait for that

  • Gosh people if you read about the hardwares inside the notebooks you HAVE to see that what the capabilities of the notebook. Or you guys just buy a notebook by its outlook or something?

  • No..... most macs can't do that, I have a macbook pro, so I can, I don't spend my like looking up specs on laptops I don't plan to own

  • I thought this was a macbook not a pro, sorry
