I don't think there's any evidence to suggest that the Germans lost WWI just because the US got involved in 1917.

Frankly, the world may have been better off if Germany had won WW1, because the only reason the Nazi's came to power was because of German despair after their loss and treatment after WWI. Germans win WWI, no Nazi's, no World War 2. Might have been far better off in the long run. It's not like the Germans were the bad guys in WW1, both sides in that war were out of their minds.
