I just squash them off with my fingers. This year I have invested in a wide length of environmesh which is covering all my winter brassicas, and this has protected them from the cabbage root fly, the cabbage white caterpilars, the pigeons, and hopefully the winter frost, and will also guard against the cabbage aphid, so it's well worth doing.
Please don't stop I'm sure there is a lot more to show us. I already grow some veg but have attempted news one this year because of watching you videos. I got an allotment in Feb and had to start from scratch. So I've followed your advice and I'm really pleased with it so far. Please don't stop!
You are such a with of information, I assure you that there's more for us to learn from you. Please post more videos in the future, we'll miss you until then!
Love the videos and was always excited to see a new video pop up in my subscription listing. Hopefully you will pop back and do vidoes. Your information has always been so useful and informative. Thanks again.

When you say, "the end of the year" for planting shallots, do you mean the end of the 18 mo cycle or the fall like garlic?
