  • This recipe us awesome. Thanks for posting this. I'm going to try it today!!

  • I'm really pleased you are so keen to try. I hope it does not disappoint.

  • Nice... but I've never seen those finger biscuits in my life. One question, are they sweet? or do they just taste like simple bread?

  • You will find the biscuits in any Italian deli. Sorry I can't think of the brand name. They are sweet.

  • @Thewaterofthepool its called lady fingers or boudoir. Its available at any supermarkets. Hope this was helpful :)

  • hhmmm,,,yummy.....and i like the songs....

  • The song is by Adriano Celentano. He was very popular in Italy during the 50s and 60s and he's still doin stuff. He reminds me of my mum who is a big fan. I love his music (specially his old stuff). It's so naff! Cheers!

  • HEALTHY?!?!?! you do know sponge finger biscuits have lots of sugar and fat in them right? Anyone want a healthy desert? Eat a frickin apple.

  • Yeah and when you're done eating your frickin apple try the cake! ANYTHING in moderation is good for you. Get a grip!

All you Health Nazis need to get a life. Diet food is only for those who can't control their eating. Eating is one of the great pleasures in life and there is NOTHING wrong with treating yourself. Have a burger! Have some ice cream! Scoff a chocolate bar! Just don't do it too often!

I eat mainly good and healthy food but I ALWAYS treat myself. I'm fit and slim! You only live once!

  • Wow your getting me all wrong, i never said eating a cake or whatever is a sin or something. I'm just saying you shouldn't call something like cake healthy, because it isn't.

I eat the occasional unhealthy thing but you'll never hear me say look at this healthy cake i made, because there is no such thing.

  • Sorry. I came off a bit harsh there but still I have to disagree. Sugar is healthy. The body needs sugar. It needs fat too. The experts will tell you; there is no such thing as unhealthy food. There are only unhealthy diets.

I don't really wanna make a big deal about it but this is a healthy cake compared to most and if you have a healthy diet you can happily eat this and other cakes guilt-free...

Apologies again for my prior ranting...

  • yeah im sorry to, my first comment wasn't really clear on how i meant it. i dont fully agree with you but i will have to agree with you about your cake being better then most cakes. (still wont say its healthy though :P )

  • No worries. Cheers!

  • I'm agree with you, i would use a sugar free cookie with fiber instead of sponge finger biscuits

  • Hmmm... worth a try.

  • Thank YOU, susique. This recipe may not be for everyone but it always pleases me when nice people make nice comments. Best wishes!

  • This would be a wonderful recipe to take to a picnic or a pot luck. Im ashamed to read negative comments from some of these people. I personally thank you for this video!

  • I like this recipe because I can't bake worth crap let alone do the measuring thing. But this recipe I can do in a single serving size without the constipating effects of cake flour and having unwanted servings hanging around. The fresh fruit is a great idea; everyone is so afraid to eat well, but this is a good calcium recipe also beacuse of the yougurt. I definately will ty this. Thanks!

  • Hey, thanks to you for the nice letter. Hope you like the cake.

  • ????????

  • ur not suposed to eat it ur suposed to re gift it

  • I'll try it. Thanks scerra8450!

  • it seems totally unhealthy for me, japanese.

a little amount of fruits(one piece of strawberry a day, for example)is maybe good for your health.

But fruits contains a lot of sugar, therefore Japanese are tend to keep off fruits.

  • Hi Sharkgirl90.

Europeans adopt a different dietary view but both cultures have historically proven that their respective diets are healthy and lead to good health and a long life.

I'm a big fan of both culinary styles but I think that your view that the cake is "totally unhealthy" is a little harsh and inaccurate. The natural sugars in fruit are good for you. Everything in moderation. That said, I still respect your opinion.

  • Y'know, it's probable that if you add sugar to a Japanese diet it could then possibly be considered an unhealthy cake... because the styles clash, nutritionally speaking, and result in a negative effect on your health... so you may have a point.

    Cheers!

  • you will have to unerstand fruits contain a natural sugar callet fructose. it is chemically different from the common white/brown sugar or other sweetner you buy in supermarkets.

anyway it doesnt make up for being such a bad cake recepy.

  • How did you screw up such a simple recipe? Or are you just bagging it without having tried it...

Anyhow, you're right about the sugar. Kindergarten stuff.

  • great recipe..Have to watch it again as everyone coming is on a health kick..and the recipe looks yummy

  • Thanks for the comment. Hope you enjoy it. It's a very easy recipe open to much variation.

  • Yes.I was wondering if you have frozen the dessert as it would help at Christmas..I would think you could use frozen fruit. I have made a frozen yogourt pie but it used cool whip so that the pie would freeze solid..

    That music is addicting!!!

  • Thank you for the comments lovely people. I would not suggest freezing but I figure that it's so easy to make you shouldn't need to. The beauty of this treat is it's freshness. Hope you enjoy it!

  • This recipe looks so good! I can't wait to try it. So much better than the traditional fruit cakes. Plus, people always go crazy when it comes to fresh fruit.

  • Where did you get that song from? Its wicked :) Do you know the title?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Shimoo.

I have to admit I used that song for a laugh. I love listening to old 50's & 60's Italian songs and I particularly love Adriano Celentano, the artist who sings that song. It's called Azzuro (it means "blue"). All due credit to the artist.

Due to those parasitic worms that suck the fun out of online communities and YouTube's inability to put a stop to it I am going to turn off the comments option on my movies. No offence to legitimate YouTubers.
