  • i use 510 cartomizers for this and hasn't broke at all and doesn't barely get hot too you should try it ive been vaping it for 2 weeks and hasnt burnt out

  • @skateranthony99543 at the time (over 2 years ago) there were no such things as cartos lol so yeah, the video is a bit dated and you cant even get the v1 anymore =P but yeah i love my cartos! i've been vaping on cartos for years now and totally love it ^_^ much cheaper than attys and more convenient - anyhow, thanks for the comment and happy vaping!

  • don't get the wrong idea, this dude isn't asian, he's high! jk

  • I had high hopes for the Prodigy v3.1, but due to faulty machining and crappy, non-existent customer service, the Prodigy (at least mine) was total FAIL and I'm not the only one who had problems!

The threads sucked from day one and the thing never fit right, requiring a ton of fiddling with washers and center-screws every time I wanted to switch attys.

The atomizers never had design flaws, it was flaws in the Prodigy itself that made me an outspoken critic of anything manufactured by PureSmoker.

  • @xlr8up for me, the v3 is great, its actually my current day-to-day device, IMO they've come a long way since the V1 - as for the attys though they all come from china and its best to just make sure you get from a good source like BOGE. this video is over 2 years old and since then i believe they've gotten much better, the v1 was a dud for me but i think the v3 is a total win =P

  • @phee303

Clearly your experience diffiered from those of us stuck with a PureSmoker Prodigy v3 dud or lemon.

I know many of the Prodigy V3's do in fact work, and work well, its just the random gamble everyone unwittingly takes when they order one.

I wish my experience was as flawless as yours has been, I WANT TO LIKE PS, but I simply cannot whore myself to such blatant machining errors and cust svc neglect.

Aways respect your opinion tho Phee, added you to my "Featured Channels" section too!! :)

  • @xlr8up yeah, definitely 'your milage may vary' and thanks!

  • Wow wish I was your Uncle LOL

  • @eagleclaws76 lol

  • I've had similar problems with my switch on the protege. Great video on the different switches that Puresmoker uses.

  • @101omni thanks for the view and comment! yeah, i hear the v2 has some problems as well but much less and also not as severe.

  • I had exactly the same experience with my Prodigy that you did, for exactly the same reason: I was using 3.6's instead of the 3.0 v cr123a's. Unfortunately, I sold my Prodigy before I realized why I kept blowing attys.

I since bought a Super 6 from supertmanufacturing, from a suggestion you made in a PM to me. THANKS. I'm in 6 v bling vapor heaven. If you remember me, this should make you laugh. I had never heard of it before your message to me.

  • nice lol i just found that the V1 switch is just faulty - even when i switched over to proper 3.0v batteries the switch kept die'n. i've sent in the V1's switch almost ten times now and now it just sits in my stash.

wow you got your SS? i ordered mine months and months ago and still waiting for it, I CANT WAIT! but for now i've got my trusty SilverBullet =]

glad i could help you out eheheheh

  • It took two weeks to get mine. The Prodigy was too bulky for my taste anyway, which was why I sold it upon request.

I DO think PS should have recalled the PV1 and the Proteges to replace the switches. I got lucky with my Protege. No probs with the switch, and I love it for 3.7 vaping.

  • what? for real? man i ordered mine about 3 months ago and still haven't gotten it yet!

oh yeah fo sho i hear the protoge is the one of the best ever for 3.7 but 6v has spoiled me so much i could never go back hahahaha.

i hear the V2 has a much better switch but because of the experience i had with the V1 pushed me so far back that i'm probably never buying from PS again - on another note their PT is fxcking bad ass! lol

  • I'll make you a deal: you get me an extension sleeve for my SD (to enable 2 CR 2's from Cisco), and I'll get you your SS to you fast.

  • lol i'm waiting for cisco to mass produce the sleeves as well hahahaha but i thinq my SS should be here by the end of the week =P (i hope)

  • as for the burnt paper throat burn i agree that the atty was too dry but not because i did not drip enough, it was because the super high voltage (beyond 6v) was drying out the atty faster than how much i could drip in the atty without flooding it.

the lesson was just to always use 3v batteries and not any higher, thanks for the comment and the view! happy vaping!

  • no no no, of course PS sent me 3.0v batteries but i have other batteries that are rated at 3.6 and 3.7 and i wanted to try them out with the PD and thats how i managed to pop my attys so quickly. my total voltage was at 7.4 and 7.2 which is way higher than 6v!

with the resistor i was probably pushing 6.1 - 6.3v which is way higher than any atty can handle.

  • Hmmm all my prodigy batteries are RCR123A 3.0v (not 3.7v) - I got them all from Puresmoker (I have a switch with a resistor as I was pretty early in the queue). No problems at all. Are you sure you didn't just get the wrong batteries given the resistor is not on your switch? It should work at 6v too.

The "burnt paper" throat burn you are mentioning is due to it being too dry. With no resistor, even with the right batteries you are REALLY going to have to keep that thing wet. 6v drinks juice.

  • Thanks for the info, phee. I'm thinking about getting either a screwdriver or prodigy so this will be helpful. When you get all the problems worked out, let us know which you prefer; prodigy or sd.

  • ic ic, get on the list now for a prodigy and good luck finding a screwdriver! eheheh, not a problem, don't know when it'll all be ready but i'll def make a comparison video, thanks for the comment and view!

  • Hey Phee, thanks for the info! I did not know about the voltage limits that an atty can handle. Good information to know.

  • thnx for the view and comment!!! glad to share the info
