@Pinoleroloco ..that's because jkd borrows heavily from wing chun in the trapping or entry range. however jkd's is more fluid and defines itself in its simplicity. anyone who is familiar with jkd can tell you that jkd doesn't have "techniques" per se but concepts and utilizing all effective and/ or efficient tools withing that particular range (four ranges).. i totally agree with this Sifu regarding the floor..i would try to avoid the floor at all cost.. unless you want to get shanked. peace.
