At the time of this release, we loved her over here in Australia.This song was at number one on the hit parade(now thats an old term!!).I think, over in the UK. she was on the tele, had her own show;The highest earner at the time of the female artists-and there was some tough competition in Cilla Black,Helen Shapiro,Dusty,Lulu and of course,Sandy Shaw.Isnt YT great that we can listen and view these gems.Her artistry goes on.

I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely lady back in 1963 after a show in Margate.I was with my Mum and Dad, I was only 12. But I can remember how nice and freindly she was, and so happy to mingle with her fans.We all remember and reminisce about stars from the Sixties, particularly girl singers, Cilla, Dusty, Lulu, Judith etc to name a few, some of whom are still as good today.They all had their special attributes, however I honestly believe Kathy that special X Factor.

But you must realise that this was nearly fifty years ago, when the emphasis was then on the musical production and artistes were not so image-obsessed. They did not need to gyrate in their underwear surrounded by an army of dancers in order to detract from what should be the focal point of the performance, namely 'the song'.
