Thank you fo rthis video. I use to go to Bodie with the family whenever we were fishing in the area. This is not like any other Ghost town. This is the real deal and you can feel it when there. Such a long road off of the main road. So isolated, no trees, those people were strong folks. bodie was a very vilent town in its day with a murder about once a week, as the history tells us. No country for old men :)
im gonna have to check this place out i am from nevada and have been to quite a few of the ghost towns in my state but i will definitely have to go see this one
These towns are cool, but artifically preserved. They are almost like a movie set. Don't get me wrong they certainly are worth visisting. I have been to one called bannack montana which is alot the same I do have videos of it.

The music is "Ghost Riders in the Sky". In the first segment it's by Duane Eddy and in the second segment it's the Venture's version.

I've been to Bodie I dunno, maybe 20 times, and have more and more fun each time. Probably the best state park on the planet!

How long before it rots to the ground and nothing remains? Does anyone take care of the place, or is it just left to nature?
