i have to say i agree 1PSYTEX1, it doesn't have the feel of blues. Don't get me wrong he's a fantastic technician, but it's certainly not blues. It's like an improvised technical exercise as opposed to expressing feelings.

i saw an interview with tommy and when he was a kid there was always a guitar lying around. He would wake up in the middle of the night to go too the loo and end up picking up the guitar. talent and discipline

I saw him in Newcastle UK a few years ago, and he was brilliant.

I defy anyone who critisizes a man who can captivate an audience with one guitar- for an hour or more. Try it yourselves.

He's a wonderful musician, does lovely things with harmonics too, I'm so glad I went to see him.

This guy is great but he pushes too hard. There is not one phase in there to jump in as a listener. Technicaly fast and well trianed...I wish I could play at his level but I would not be as greedy to reach each note? Just one mans opinion?

Greedy to reach a note ? - i'm sorry if you maybe cant keep up with tommys improv-style , but for those who play an instrument its easy to see this guys genius. Technical ability is one thing , writing your own stuff with such technical skill is entirely another , which tommy has in abundance.

I ma with you in part. Will split it with you. He is technical, sharp and quick..not to mention he can write. Just check out a guy named Greg Koch and you will see the same situation. Tremendous technical perhaps too much? What you have is guitar guys standing around at the end of the night instead of guys really having fun. We all know that type of performance. These are delemas expressed by all great gutiarists? Are they playing above the audience?

the Most amazing thing ive seen with Tommy Emmanuel was a live show he did on TV once, where they played some old rock song and he lead into it with a guitar solo, but he was doing whammy bar sounding tricks like divebombs on his telecaster with a fixed bridge, all by bending behind the neck, it was incredible, I thought that was impossible to do without a proper set locknut system :) the guy is amazing
