A very unique diesel engine which is a cross between a loop scavenged engine and a uniflow engine. It has no blower, instead using harmonic induction with a tuned exhaust pipe to effect scavenging. Because harmonic induction only works at rated speed, it is started using a baffle in the crank to provide scavenge pressure until it reaches the rated operating speed.
