  • I would have bought Phil Ivey some bananas

  • This is awesome!!

  • so sad last comment was 6 months ago and that guy try to get some thumps, give some thumps ill show him how to do it

  • @RickyAssadxD They're called "thumbs" not "thumps"

  • Phil Hellmuth has watched this video five times.

  • Comment removed

  • Everyone always wants to put down The Greatest Ever

  • you mean mike matusow gets a present?

  • i've got the whole world in my hand :D

  • Actually, when you look at the graph you can see that it was the second half of the match that was one sided. Anyway people i have just got free 50 $ start capital from PokerFrik website, great stuff to begin!

  • There are many hands in theAshman103’s range that he will have to fold to Antonius’ shove, but obviously the hand theAshman103 had here was not among those. It's funny that Ashman built his fortune with free 50 $ starting capital he got from PokerFrik website.

  • It might make jungleman12 think twice about making marginal valuebets on the river in the future, so the result on this one specific hand does not tell the complete story. Jungleman started his carrier with only 50 $ he got for free from Pokerfrik website, that prooves he really is a top player.

  • Cole South ended the weekend on a positive note when he took off with $171K of his opponents money yesterday. Cole also started his carrier with free 50 $ starting capital from PokerFrik site

  • PHILS A DONKEY!

  • @ 0:39 I predict it being a donkey card protector

  • how can you dislike this video

  • hehe can see the tourney director laugh in the background.

  • When was that?

  • 2005?

  • Very loco? That was said by Matusow?

  • Jajajajajajaja

  • first time a saw phil happy lol

  • hahaha omgh a donkey roflmfao !!!!!!

  • lol I got a new favorite video!!!! =P

  • LOL at the donkey

  • This was not staged at all.

  • owned!

  • that was fucking excellent

  • What is luck, though? You could say any random accumulation of events occurred out of 'luck' - you could say someone with a shitty hand who waits till the river and has his hand turned great is 'lucky'...but he just waited. If he does that many more times, he'll be bust, right?

So I guess it depends on what you mean by luck, if you say poker is a game of luck vs a game of skill.

  • Hellmuth is a champion.

  • Nice, like Phil didn't have enough of donkeys at his table.

  • HAHAHAHAH lmaoo

  • LOOOOL!

  • I thought for sure it would be a pacifier.

  • what final table is this?

  • 2005 tournament of champions

  • thank you

  • LOVE IT !!!

  • that was a fun final table to watch. as annoying as helmuth can be i actually like watching the poker he plays against other great players. especially when he's got chips. it's just that the ametuers and flat out donks who will chase a 6 high flush to the river with their entire stacks, wind up taking him out before he can accumulate chips. i just wish he'd act more like a champion when that happens and not stomp around ranting and insulting people.

  • I'm all in.

  • yes it is in 5 card draw. but texas hold em players know what i mean.

  • A hundred%? I dont know about that? Good Players will play their cards, the same as other good players, in almost any scenario. If you think you have the nuts, ur going to push, & enough flush draws or sets will turn into boats against you as their 20-30% chance of hitting will eventually hit. I've won a few tournaments online against 7,000 or more, & i suck. I agree with u there's is some skill but I have to say it's 51% luck. Any less than that, and Phil Helmuth would probably win every hand

  • I was going to answer to the mister below but then your answer got me covered. +1000

  • Anyone who thinks poker is luck at all in the long run is an idiot who obviously never made it even through seventh grade math. In any extremely short term scenario, luck can play a huge role, such as the worst hand catching up on the river. However, play this scenario over 1,000,000 times, and the player who got his money in ahead will profit immensely. Poker is 100% (not even 99.9, straight 100%) skill in the long term.

  • AHAHAHAHA SO GREAT

  • gambling is putting using your money to try and win more money where you can win or lose it.

therefore poker usually is gambling unless you arent using your own money.

  • i don't count poker as gambling because you can use enough skill to give yourself the best of it.

of course sometimes luck is involved but i see poker as a game of skill.

  • How is poker gambling? If it was gambling the same people wouldnt be appearing at final tables. There is 0 luck in poker in the long run. Statistics don't lie. Grow some balls, get a brain, uneducated fuck

  • verb (used without object) 1. to play at any game of chance for money or other stakes.

    2. to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance: to gamble on a toss of the dice.

I believe that betting money on having better cards at the end of a round comes down to chance. Poker is 90% skill and 10% luck due to the laws of statistics but that doesn't mean it's not gambling you 'uneducated fuck'

  • Oh snap disfiguration, u just got ur balls burnt off.

  • I agree that poker is a skilled game but the fact that you say there is 0 luck in poker long run can be debated. Look at the highest earning players in the history of the game, Jamie Gold is very close to #1, might even be. Thats from one tournament where he got very lucky in a lot of situations. Plus the same faces at final tables theory is usually at tourneys with fields of a few dozen or a hundred players. How often do you see same faces at WSOP main event final tables?

  • haha, jamie gold #1? he is begging for loans from people...dont get me wrong but im pretty sure if im right w/e you win taxes takes 50% of it..he won 12m..thats 6m left..he owed som1 2m..lost 1m+ on highstakes..he isnt rich trust me.

  • For sure, I'm just saying statistically on the tournament winnings list he is right up there. Same thing with Peter Eastgate. Aaaaaand regarding taxes, thats why Canada rules, we dont tax gambling profits as we dont see it as falling under a predictable income.

  • really, hmm i might move to canada, not includding its nice because you only have too be 18 to play....dont get me wrong im only 16..but been playing poker on full tilt poker, for about 3 years..and in that 3 years..i've made about 10k$ real money.hmm that;d be nice..canada does rule.haha

  • HAHAHAHAHA. yeah, sure you have. I live poker, im 18, and i still have a lot to learn...there is no way you can manage a bankroll at ages 13-16....especially not one that size.

  • LOL. are you serious? I thought i was only going to have to bash you one time...

If you knew anything...at all, you'd know that poker winnings are not taxed...you pay a small fee to the house to enter, and you win straight up cash...no checks a month later...you go to the booth and get your cash....

    fucking kill yourself.

  • Actually You got it partly right and wrong, Poker winnings are not taxed....until you reach over a certain amount... for example in a cash game at the casino I go to, Its not taxed unless you check out with 10,000 or over at once... so as long as you dont bring 10,000 or over worth of chips on one sitting then your good. Im not sure about the WSOP but im sure you have to pay taxes if you win one of those big tournaments(cuz the govenment is a leech) but im not 100%sure on that one tho.

  • they are starting a tax in american i believe its a percentage of your winnings(25%)

  • @Sev3r333 Soz kid but if your from a foreign country you gotta pay some gambling taxes when you bring it home

  • Hahahhahaahahaha

  • i hate it when people come to poker and think its bingo, i just want to tell them to fuck their q 6 off, its fucked me over so many times even with big raises pre flop....

  • Tell me where you play. I love to play with players who give action.

  • 8===============D

  • I call with strange cards because then you cant tell if the flop helped me. If you raise with AQ, and I call with 78, when the flop comes A78 you will bet and I will just shove - you will call and I will be ahead. And u will call me a donk while im countin ya chips

  • yup and every other time when you call you'll be wondering why you did when you are folding.

  • lol...is that so? too bad more than likely the flop will come up with nothing and then his ace queen high will beat your 78...so um...you keep your style and we'll keep watching you lose your $5 dollar sit n gos...

  • Yeah maybe - but I'll keep doing it until I get lucky - and 78 isn't hopeless against AQ - I got to keep playin the trash - donkey for life

  • haahahahahahahha

  • poker isn't gambling, but there is gambling in poker

stock market isn't gambling but sometimes gambling is involved.

on some level everything in life is a gamble.

but poker is not a game of luck. Can't you realize that?

  • poker is gambling with some human factor. anything that involves cards is gambling.

  • no, sorry but you are wrong, unless you think poker is a game of luck.

Gambling implies that you are receiving unfavorable odds on a wager. so poker itself is not gambling, it just ends up happenning.

  • ok i meant a game of luck, but there is a lot of gambling in poker still cant deny that

  • No, it doesn't. Gambling does not imply you have unfavorable odds. Gambling just means that chance is a variable. That's why the poker players in the world (e.g., Allen Cunningham) lose to amateurs if they play aggressive and are forced to "out card" them.

  • HomeReality, I don't know where you play poker, but where I play there's always a rake? Normally 5% of a pot in a cash game, and 10% in a tournament. So you'd suspect that only a few players in the field would have an edge in the long run? I still believe I have an edge, but I might be wrong - players tend to overrate themselves.

  • Phil IS a nice guy... But he has priority issues, that's his problem. He knows that calling someone an idiot is wrong but he believe that if people don't play perfect poker, they NEED to be called idiots and they should be ok with it. That's his problem...

  • actually,.....he is rigth 99.99% of times when playing poker...i believe that if what u love is gambling....GO PLAY ROULETTE FOR GODS SAKE....

  • Glad to see he took it well. Hes such a little bitch about everything else.... must be cuz hes doing okay.

  • LOL!!! Phil's a donkey!!!

  • did phil lose this match?

  • He got third, Mike won.

  • really funny

what a cool thing to do.

  • Lol, it's cool that Hellmuth can see the funny side to it. It is hilarious though.

  • lol, he get's a donkey as present

    Gotta love mike :D

  • really funny the donkey

is the song famous in us, i think i heard it in the movie "hell's wings" (i translate from french) ?

  • I Think the film you mean is Con Air,Steve Buscemi sings it to a little girl.

  • matusow should sing more i love his voice

  • I love Steve.

  • Thats about the only clip on youtube where Phil Hellmuth isn't lashing out.

  • HAHA, love it. Good humour at the table, taken in good spirits, nice one!

  • Steve's a great guy from what I've seen, good natured, Phil's present was definately Mike's idea.

  • It was a joke. Everyone including Steve knows that Phil is a much better tournament player than all of the table combined.
