There are lots of drivers from Indiana...but this recording was made from the Indy 500, where Jim Nabor's singing of the song has become a special tradition at THAT race. Putting NASCAR images to it is sacreligous.
I know its an Indy 500 tradition, I love the race and that's my favorite moment from pre-race. My hero is a Hoosier and the song is for all Hoosiers best I can tell, I'm from Georgia so I don't know for sure, so I used that song and my favorite version of it.
Would it make you happier if it was redone as a silent-film sort with Pete Fountain's version? Sheesh.
Sorry I'm just now getting back to this, but if the NASCAR event at the IMS wasn't such a travesty, maybe I'd be a little more forgiving. But the tires can't handle it, you'll get at best 20 laps under green, there are mandatory cautions for TV timeouts, it's not racing. If Tony wants to win at Indianapolis, then do it right, in my opinion.
Thanks again for another great video. I too was at this race, I have only missed 2 Brickyards due to the untimely births of my children (my fault). You look like a great fan.
You made a nice couple of vids there Aaron!

You need to put this to some Indy cars. That is the real tradition.
