I adore the interplay between the natural and flatted sixths....the D7 in the chorus is like being jolted awake after being lulled to rest by the smooth b6 sounds of the verses (Fmaj7, Dmi).

He talks about 'the sun' in another song too where he gets very explicit about the subject: "everybody cares, everybody understands"... i liked it as a love song too :(

He used addiction as a theme in a lot of his songs but that doesn't really mean they are always specifically about drugs. This song, on the other hand, to me at least, is about losing someone and not being able to forget about them. Who couldn't identify with something as simple that?
