yes i do hear that too. also the end refrain in this clip also appears in the middle of the Serenity intro theme tune (Sci fi film). i am beginning to think its a folk influence from somwhere. definitely a nice arangement hear.

@theedgeofhumanity It also reminds me a little of bbc's Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy intro for some reason, it defo has a slight retro in an awesome way vibe about it and I love that it plays sporadically throughout each episode as well, sooo epic.

I like all the theme music in three different adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. This TV series "Sherlock" opening theme, the 1980s "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" theme, and 2009 "Sherlock Holmes" movie theme.

So, how do you bring Sherlock Holmes into the 21st Century? In a TARDIS, of course, as the writers for the temporal series have done a brilliant job of re-inventing Holmes for the new millennium. Mycroft as John Steed with his umbrella? Marvelous.

What if Dr. Who met Sherlock in a crossover series in which a clone of the Master meets M_ and they plot to alter the time line by killing Holmes as a baby. At the end of the episode, the older Holmes gives the younger Holmes a magnifying glass.

@pinkriffic apparently Moffat is not writing for Sherlock next series - he's gone back to DocWho and letting Gatiss take over. :) Mycroft writing jokes? Brilliant. XDDD

Steven Moffat is a much better writer with Sherlock than with Doctor Who, probably because his stories move at a slower pace and 90 minutes an episode gives him more to work with.

Also, it's good Benedict Cumberbatch didn't take the Doctor Who role - now he gets to play Sherlock! :)
