had one on my longest waves ever at this spot. Caught a outside wave and road it all the wave to the beach, Wave stayed pretty close to the cliff whole time and i did a million cutsbacks on it.

My favorite place to surf on Kauai. I've gotten the sickest barrels of my life there taking off in the cove.

Winter of '92-93 I will never forget, while not the best, the least crowded, for sure.

It is always nice to be "known" when you drive down and the "gate keepers" are telling people they don't know that the beach is closed today. LOL

It's a lot mellower now than it was 20+ years ago when I moved there fro Oahu. I recently moved to Canada, I miss the wai, I don't miss the crowds.

Don't worry, when this place gets good it's soooo heavy the wave itself will take care of any donkey haoles from America....I'm from Oahu and my cousin grew up right up the road from here...if you don't know anyone surfing out here on a good day you won't catch $hit...

how many visitors, once they negotiate the furious vibe even driving down there, could even get a good wave here? dont worry about it. this will always be a locals spot. but remember the internet now rules and the last thing that can or will be regulated there is the posting of surf spots. When was the last time a random visitor got a set wave on a mere four foot day? sure, they might get in the way inside r2 rock, but actually snag a bomb?

I'm all down for tourism. You think I don't realize it's the only way for our economy to survive? The fact is surfers don't go on vacation to spend money, they live cheep and surf. Kauai is the last frontier in Hawaii, it's the least crowded and the least developed. It's also a place where a lot of true aloha still resides. Most people on Kauai just want things to stay the same forever. We see things changing and it is a shameful thing. The culture in your town isn't in danger like us "Braddah"

I understand completely... Respecting locals is key for me. And I've been readily accepted at the parking lots and in the line up as a tourist who "knows"...and for this I am grateful. Every time I come to surf your islands, I buy local gear and surf it, then bring it home. Always tip well. And always stay humble in the water. I guess my thought is, a video won't change the direction of the world - we're just getting bigger n bigger and everything eventually "changes". Peace spreads mana...!

As a resident of Kauai I respectfully ask you to take this down. It's not accomplishing anything except to promote surfing in a place that is already becoming overcrowded. Labeling "localized" (local knowledge enforced) surf spots and posting them online is violating a very near and dear kapu to the people of Kauai, surfers and non surfers alike.
