I LOVE Mr. Bubble. I posted on another Mr. Bubble clip that I recently bought some Mr. Bubble, the kind in the box, at Wal Mart and I believe it still uses the same exact formula. It smells the same, (remember that wonderful "Pink" smell??) it feels the same, it IS the same. Thanks for posting this great clip and stirring up the cobwebs in my head!
I think it may be the most entertaining commercial ever made. Do they still make Mr. Bubble? If so, they should re-air this commercial. People would love it.
Your Mother Won't Know You...if your momma dont know you, shes either; in the know, or suffering memory loss. bubble is beyond funny, & subjective bubble is even funnier
Rediscovering this video made my day! From the era of classic cartoons--simple, hilarious, and memorable. She hangs the phone up on the coat rack in Mr. Magoo-like fashion :>)) I plan to wear my Mr. Bubble sweatshirt today and emulate the smile on him...
Remenber this commercial as a kid in the early to mid 1960's. Total classic! Actually made me happy to want to take a bath,... most of the time! {That "Madam,..How do you do?" line is priceless! Thanks for posting. First time I've seen this since back when The Beatles were all still alive & together).
I'm reliving my youth on YouTube! My brothers and I used to be crazy about this commercial back in the 60's and it looks even better now! That kid is a wicked little devil. This is a masterpiece of animation!
A later version of this ad leaves out the "49 cents {suggested retail price}" tag, and has the announcer saying, "Tell her it leaves no bathtub ring- she'll like that".
I loved this commercial as a kid! For years when the subject of good tv ads came up, I'd always ask if anyone remembered this one and they never did. So glad it's available here. Thanks HansPerk.
My mom showed me this, and this is one of my all-time favorite commercials. "Madam... how do you do." I love the hat going up and down with his eyebrows. This is so cute!!
Man, I used to laugh until my sides hurt when I'd see this commercial. I can still recite it verbatim. I used to do it for my coworkers all the time. They finally got to see the actual commercial. They were underwhelmed.
Thank you so much for posting that! My brother and sister and I used to giggle at that, and repeat lines from it all the time! "Operator, operator! There's a MAN in the tub!" Great stuff!
I just noticed something else about this commercial; Grandma only turns on the HOT water faucet, not both! Poor lil' Hubert would no doubt have been severely scalded (this was before tempered faucets)...
I remember this commercial from way-back-when. I reckon I was always jealous of folks who had a bathtub (we only had a shower). Just as funny today to watch it too. They just don't make commercials like they used to.
@Noosic - thanks for the clarification, I remember this one ( I think grandma was Mrs. McGoo)! I turned 9 fall of '65.
I've made 450 playlists to share with everyone, over 300 by artist and one for every year since 1900 and this gem just went on the 1965 playlist. You can listen to the sounds of any past year, ads and all!
The good old days, My brother and I still crack up about this!

I pretty sure Mr. Bubble was created by Faith and John Hubley--parents of Georgia Hubley of Yo La Tengo fame.

I remember this from the mid-60s...I was born late in 1961 so my memory of it must have been from at least 1963 or 64, if not later.
This makes me wonder whether this could have been from the 50s as indicated in the subtitle in Google search results.
