I'm sure he did, or he bought it from someone who did. You can buy kits like this, but not a kit in the form you may expect- still requires machine tools for finishing.

I would expect it has 4 coils on it (not distributors) and that the leads go to opposite cylinders where one is TDC for ignition and the other is TDC for exhaust- called 'wasted spark'.

The "speakers" are fans, which blow air thru the radiator, which looks like a typical setup when one uses an oil cooler as a model engine radiator. :) Yes, it "even runs", as you hear it running in the video- search for scale engine, model engine, mini v8, etc... there are thousands of these.

Its likely a nitro powered engine (the stuff RC cars run on like say, a T-Maxx or Savage- look up some videos; they're awesome cars). That being said, those are glow plugs, not spark plugs. The things used in diesel engines.

I'm pretty sure that that's a completely custom build with everything being custom CNC cut by a machine shop. Or if not, close to it. I wonder how many cubic inches that thing is....
