  • This is not the SOS model. This therapist is forcing the child to put things in his mouth( doing to) vs doing with. The SOS model encourages kids to do the work by imitating the therapist. I work as an OT and do the SOS model every day.

  • This was actually taken a few years ago. This was suppose to be using the SOS approach to feeding therapy, but it wasn't sucessful. We have discovered a wonderful approach called food chaining. Google it and you will find cheriandlaurasblogspot. I highly recommend them. They introduce similar foods in a fun, not scary way. We have also learned that all kids with feeding disorders should be tested for underlying causes like a swallowing disorder or food allergies. Good luck!

  • Those are the same issues we are having with my son right now. We worked up to 10 bites, but he pockets everything in his cheeks and getting him to swallow food is so difficult!

  • I have felt so alone with my child refusing food and holding the food in her mouth. We've been in feeding therapy for a long time, your little guy is doing great.
