@OntarioPrepper Thats what the battery change stations are for...you can just drive to it, and get a new fresh battery, and then you can go another 185km!
@OntarioPrepper Agassi hasn't been relying on direct gov't handouts although he has been instrumental in getting laws favorable to EVs put in place. I guess his corporate credentials and business plan must have been very convincing to the venture capitalists for him to have raised so much money in a severe downturn.
If you sign up with Better Place, you get a charge spot at home and they try to convince your employer to permit one at work. This has worked well in Silicon Valley, or so I hear.
@OntarioPrepper If you don't live near enough to benefit, then what do you care? There's already power along the highways, beefing it up shouldn't be a big deal. Also, the V2G benefits in terms of balancing Ontario's wind turbines, and allowing for absorbing excess baseload would (should?) be of great benefit. The cars would be a
@OntarioPrepper Who paid for the highway to North Bay? Was it the natives who already lived there? It's been stated on several occasions that replacing every gas auto ( I don't think they included heavy transport) would cause 6-10% increase in demand and that would take decades. A few thousand would be a statistical anomaly. Since the BPlace plan includes a V2G option, the electric utilities would partly bear the cost of the expansion because they would benefit from peak-shaving.
@snaggley Shai's has had an agreement in place with Ontario but not sure what progress has been made. If you electrified the corridor from Oakville to the far end of Montreal, that would cover over half of Canada's population and you'd need maybe 40 - 50 swap stations ( including along the highways to Ottawa ) and a few thousand public charge spots- maybe $100 million total?
Visionary . NO FREEDOM.
@32ndegree Fuck America. He doesn't even plan on working with them at the beginning. Israel, Denmark, and Australia have already begun construction of stations, and soon cars are going into mass production and sale.

How will this system work in a place like Canada? Where distances are long and number of cars are low?
