I got the new RB2 set. I say it's definately worth getting. It responds greatly and it's extremely quiet. The pedal doesn't look like it'll be breaking anytime soon.

and the sticks are better and sturdier

the ion is going to be the best way to go because it's not going to be cheap like the rb2 set plus it has other features that the rb2 set does not have. plus you can use it as an electric drum set which is sick. also you don't have to pay for the software just download it off the web duh.

It is 200 dollars and if you want to see what the real drumset looks like. Look for the official rockband 2 movie. It is gonna be out september 14 for 360. Later in the year ps3 and ps2 and wii will be shortly out after ps3.

dude, the cymbal pack can be used with the first kit, because the cymbals arent going to be connected via ports, the poles are supposed to be clipped onto the sides/backs of the exsisting pads. that why im not even gona waste my money on them anyway, it sounds like a cheap and crummy way to add cymbals to youre kit. soo up youres :)

yeah you can get drum lessons but what about a drumset? the cheapest you can get a drum set is for around 700 dollar for a 5 peice drumset (snare, mid/high tom, floor tom, ride, high hat, crash)

and im not fooling myself with plastic toys. ive played a real drumset before and i know that it is nothing like rockband drums. we play for fun, it's not like we're buying this because we think it will make us real drummers

Lol..Your looking at the 3rd party drumset and accessories. the offical rockband one is released by harmonix alone, However, MadCatz is also releaseing a drumset, As well as cymbal add-on for extra abilities when it comes to say. hitting a sequence of notes in a roll (since the rockband drumsets seem to have issues with backtoback notes)

Actually both kits (stock and ion) have a second jack in the back for an additional pedal. Also some other songs that would use double bass: "Visions" by Abnormality, "Painkiller" by Judas Priest, and "Panic Attack" by Dream Theater.

I think that may be an upgrade, but none of the songs would have double bass in the chart, unless they make modified charts and you can toggle double bass or something.
