The first anime I ever fell in love with. Back in the 1980s I watched this religously. Drew fan art of it. I have never felt much attachment to Transformers, Robotech, Voltron or any of those. THIS was my giant robot hero. So excited for this to be released!
i hate how all the movie versions loose all the colors, why the frak do they have to be all greyish, in transformers you could hardly tell robots apart, my starscriem looked like oversized dung-beetle

The only reason they are making this movie is the same reason they make transformers...to sell merchandise, they are using our generations love of our toys and cartoons in order to sell them right back to us...they don't care about art or whether they stay true to the source material, and of course the characters won't be Japanese, not even Jesus is allowed to be Muslim, everyone has to be white, this isn't Tyler Perry's GaiKing
@Wooga424 I know several people involved with the project and the reason why they worked on this for almost half a decade was enthusiasm, not merchandising. You have several big fans that worked night and day to secure financing for the movie and bring technology to the level that this movie becomes a reality inside the budget. The fact that it is slowly taking shape of a major hit for next year - is only a bonus. We wish all the best to the team.

Trouble is, nobody on the whole web seems to care enough to post her name, so she's either just a model used for the trailer (and therefore not important enough for them to post her name) or that's just a little more tease. Cute as hell, though, motion-capture or not.

I remember this series as a child being aired in Toronto as part of the 'Force Five' compilation.
I don't recall any episode of Gaiking or any other mecha with a white female pilot.
They simply refuse to use a proper Japanese actor.
I will assume the only Japanese we'll see are the extras in the background in pretend Tokyo.
Very sad commentary of our times.
