  • Boring song. I can't believe this was ever a hit.

  • @RayL1983 it was #1 on the USA disco/dance charts for 3 weeks in 1979, in fact the entire album was #1 for 3 weeks in 1979....LOL, before you were born.....

  • great song, but the video clip was a bit boring

  • Awwwwwwww, I love this song. Thanks for the offering.

  • love this song she is something

  • This is a Classic. Very Cute! Check out My Main Video!

  • Another winner from France's debut LP. You'll probably pay a mint to find this in Prelude's "DJ-only" format: two fat-grooved 12" singles that held as much sonic quality as I can imagine from four tracks.

As for her mesmerizing cover shot:: is it unkind to say this gorgeous 16 year-old looked like a rough, gorgeous woman twice her age? Certainly the effect complimented the street cred that Prelude Records worked hard to earn besides its venerable competitors Salsoul and West End.

  • i love this song!! she has such a beautiful voice

  • I want disco to come back SOOOOOO BAD!!!!!! I don't know if it will, but I do know we (as a nation) need some feel-good, danceable music again!!! Rap and hip-hop have lasted waaaaay longer than disco ever did, unfortunately, and I think a change in this country's music culture is very much overdue!!! I WANT TO GO DANCING AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

  • My megastar. My goddess. Donna Summer might be the queen of disco, but France Joli is just the goddess of disco. 17 years old and " Come To Me" was a world hit. Making the whole world dance in clubhouses she wasn't old enough to get in. Love, Joli, you are the best!

  • WOW this old man is on the Floor wow look out!!! Oh Yeah WOW i will need some bengay after this dance.

  • @Floydalbert hahaha, I think you need to ease on into it over the course of several days, work out the kinks, and THEN you can strut your moves just like Back In The Day... I know what you mean...

  • Great song! Take me back....Thanks for posting. God bless.

  • awesome dude!

    Chris Cowley, SF

  • OH WOW i REMEMBER THIS RECXORD WAS IN OUR BASEMENT...GREAT STUFF IT WAS LIKE A B SIDE TO SOMETHING I BELIEVE

  • wow club 54 N.Y.C "yes baby"

  • it is a pity that this music is no longer made. I wish I lived in the 70s.

  • @pterodactilo hey wish you were there you miss alot the best of time of my life

  • @pterodactilo disco house, funky house, or just plain old house. don't worry, disco still alive.

  • Sideways or not, in that photo she is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life, and I thought Farrah/Raquel to this point was the sexiest. Ive seen the more recent videos and I still think shes sexy.

  • @gkent101 hey she is beattiful i agree!

  • Time may pass, but for those who were there, on the top of your success, you are still there..thank you for all the memories...Canadians must be very proud for having such an Idol!

  • Is France a millionaire?

  • She may have grown "sideways" but man, can she sing! Putting thousands of wannabes to shame!

  • True story right there, and she really can still sing! I'm gonna watch her prove it Nov. 14 in Atlantic City.

  • Waiting for comments after this show !

  • Take that Celine

  • What a corny song but Love it LOL

  • This is such a well put together song, I mean just listen to the fabric of the music in the long stretches of instrumental stuff. WOW!

Oh, has anyone notice that American's no longer dance. During the 70's and 80's we were a dancing nation, now it seems hip-hop and rap have killed our dancing nature. Pity

  • So true those rappers have brought violence and vile language to music

  • I bartend at a club in NY and sometimes we have disco nights and I just watch in total awe that no one dances like that anymore, and I WANT TO! lol

  • @Berazan

The ONLY time I see entire crowds of people dancing and clearly enjoying themselves is where Rap music is not played.

  • @Berazan Yeah, go on and blame Hip-Hop for the modern music industrys change of the ways.

You obviously have no clue how Dance within the Hip-Hop culture is still groovy and amazing.

What about blaming ourselves, for being the audience wanting different music than what we had

back in the days, and blame ourselves for not having the balls nor the vibes, as a majority, to get on

the dance floor and move to the sound freely ? You seem to be incredibly ignorant.

  • @PiffWalkeR Berazan is 100% correct. hip/hop killed the beautiful melodies of dance/disco music.....having lived and partied in the 70s disco era, i whole heartedly agree

  • @discovery781 So you're saying mainstream hiphop is to be blamed for the switch of audience and changing music industry ?

    - And how can you say one genre killed another genre ?

  • @PiffWalkeR dance music constantly evolves, since the onslought of hip/hop in the 90s you cant walk into a club with out hearing some sort of a hip/hop song, genres dont get killed or die, they morph..many consider hip/hop to be the "new" dance music.....what hip hop killed was the melody of dance music. most hip/hop lacks melody, its too aggressive, and at times too political....i could live with out it ...anyone who was part of the golden era of disco would agree

  • @PiffWalkeR unless you were part of this era, and i suspect you werent, its very hard for you to understand

  • @discovery781 I totally understand what you mean, and you're right - I woesn't. I'm just disagreeing on the generalization of Hiphop as what is being played on the radio / TV / clubs - since from my point of view, there's alot of underground producers and artists out there making music which differs alot to what is getting promoted - and which is really groovy to dance to - alot of it being sampled and chopped disco / blues / jazz. Take care, and thank you for the input.

  • @Berazan I totally agree with you. I really miss those days. Now, I still manage to find decent dance clubs as I live in the NJ Tri State area---but you are right.

  • This was my favorite album of the summer of 1979.

  • France Joli means quality, inspiration, rhythm, no doubt she was one of the best, and still is, I can't stop listen to her music, she should produce more....

  • the best one i love it

  • SHE WAS ONE OF THE BEST !

  • have you seen her lately ?

  • This is the B side of Come to Me 45 vinyl, radio edit, of course.

  • No problem :)

  • OMG I love this song but until this I haven't known who sang it. Thanks soo much for posting this!!!

  • This reeeeaaallly takes you to the 1970's!!
