if anyone here wants to record in HD I would suggest getting the AVertv HD USB DVR... you can play in HD and record in HD... easycap is a good $10 recorder but you have to play in standard definition... another good HD capture device is the hauppauge hd pvr, you can play in HD and record in HD.... just trying to help some people out

Flip is good for recording stuff for random stuff not just gaming but if you get a camcorded you can record gaming in better quality with some cables and record good quality doing random stuff but i would recomend getting easy cap mate for 10 dollars from amazon with all cables : )

The only problem with this is the audio , maybe if you tried recording audio with another device then maybe you could just sync the two media files.

@TheFatalProductions plus, we are in a bad economy so every little penny saved counts. Capture cards are way to expensive then just buying a hd pocket camcorder. I prefer a camcorder because not only can you use it to capture gameplay footage but you can use it to make videos on vacation or whatever... you can't do that with a capture card; you get a lot more bang for your buck with the camcorder.

@tubbzywubbzy22 TheFatalProductions is using an HDMI cord. it connects directly from your camera to an hdtv. if youre doing a point and shoot your most likely going to have lines go up the screen. if you dont have one, i would recommend an hdmi cable from the flip video web. a way to make the lines go away if youre pointing and shooting is set up youre camera at a different angle and turn off the lights in the room.

I've done allot of research and found that it is possible to connect a standard video camcorder to a tv in a manner that records the gameplay of whichever console your playing, but i can't find anything to do with the flip. holding it steady wih a tripod seems to be working well for me but i think video quality would be allot better if someone would tell me how to record the gameplay with the flip. The flip has no ablility to recorded video and audio straight from the TV. Only way a Flip hooks up to a TV is with a special Flip HDMI cord, and that's only to watch videos you recorded on the TV.

it looks pretty good when everything is still, but when it changes from light to dark fast it kinda gets washed out and blurred from fast motion. maybe try recording with your lights on it may help.

It looks pretty nice, but if you plan on making multiple videos from console systems, I would definitely suggest getting a capture card. It transfers footage from consoles seamlessly, thus cleaning up both the video and audio.

Oh, and if you can find a way, I'd suggest possibly using an auxiliary cable to connect the sound from the tv to the camera directly, instead of hoping for the camera's speaker to pick it up. otherwise, it's looking pretty nice.
