the guys got chops but as far as i know doesn't have any studio credits to his name. chops aren't everything. not saying that dom doesn't groove, but if i was looking for a drummer for a band, i probably wouldn't pick dom. However, he has chops which i'm sure most people seem to think is the most important part of being a drummer.
i studied with Dom for 5 years from 1985 to 1990. Went every week....Thank God I crossed with him at an early age!!!...I havent seen him play in ten years...although we are still in touch....He still blows me away...Believe me, he has the best technique I have ever seen...PERIOD....great mentor..Thx Dom
I took some lessons from Dom at the long island drum center in new york, it was 40 bucks a half hour, totally worth it, tho he talked alot, trashed neil peart a bit ( i didnt like that) and also talked shit about his ex wife, But playing with him side by side was awesome.
this ain't no funny drummer, this guy shows what modern drummers should be like! drummers nowadays sit still and wave sticks around mindful of what next fill to play or if they sound good. dom is just awesome, that power he gets from a traditional grip is tremendous and his moves make him stick out as an amazing drummer
