Does anyone know if it's possible to cut these in half (like with a Dremel) so that they'd hold five rounds each to be used to load a bolt action rifle in the same caliber?
@ItssMeBen The springs in mags can wear out if you leave them fully loaded for extended periods. In the Navy we always left 2 fewer rounds in the mags of our duty weapons than they would take. So having stripper clips is a good way to save your mags. Load them up in your spare time, and don't dink around at the range reloading. If you store your ammo in stripper clips you don't need to have as many mags around, and mags can be pricey for some weapons.
I am getting a .223 handi rifle and I was thinkin if I got 1 or 2 of these strips if I could carry ammo like this and load one at a time with these you think this would be good?
@hunterwr69 Personally for a handi I'd go with a stock shell holder. I use a Uncle Mikes on my bolt gun. For additional cartridges you can just throw some into a pouch/bag, or a folding case you can throw into a pocket, etc. Or get a hold of John at Original SOE to make a folding pouch for the .223. He makes one for the 7.62x51, looks pretty sweet!
@StMichaelsCrew You can hear the powder? If so I'd be concerned with it being under charged, or maybe you have supermans hearing. 52, 55, 68, 69, 75 gr loads... I don't hear a thing. Seems like a waste of time to me. If you are that concerned about factory or handloads put each cartridge on a scale.
@snakeii0 How this happened is unreal. I've never been to this channel. I ah, don't get hammered and forget I leave comments plus I've never reloaded a round in my life. u-tube was notified. I can't tell you or the channel host I'm sorry because I never wrote this. I WILL find out what's going on though.
They make this thing called the magapula i think and it speed loads rounds ... it fits ontop of the mag and you place the bullets on top of each other ... click the switch and boom slams all the rounds in the mag ... they got it for 5 , 10 , and 30 round mags
Try to get as much of your ammo onto stripper clips for any of your military type arms. This saves you a lot of grief when handling in the field. (better than a pocket full of chicklets) Stripper clips for M-14 and other larger types are 5 round capacity normally. If you can't find bandoliers then make them. use light cloth same as DOD type. Go to
Wait wouldn't it take longer to insert the stripper clip, then load ten rounds on to the speed loader then attach the speed loader to the stripper clip and push down on all those rounds, rather than just grabbing a handful of rounds and pressing them into the mag one by one very quickly?
Imagine you are a soldier needing to load 8+ 30 round magazines. Do you really want to load them one round at a time or do you just want to use 24 stripper clips?
@UselessRobotToy good point, but thats fine so long as you have the speed loader already mounted on the mags and you have plenty of mags, i could load a 0 roud mag round by round in 20 seconds give or take, to fumble arund getting the stripper mounted right would take ME ages, i guess some people just preffer loading "clickclickclickclick..."
I use the same magazines as you! The 20 round sizers that can actually only hold 10 rounds. I live in nj, so I can only have 15 rounds. What I found out is theres a police officer who buys 20 round magazines and alters them somewhere in middle NJ so they can hold 15 rounds. Google it. I like these mags but HATE the follower. Too bad I cant change it as there magazines aren't able to be dissasembled..bummer.

@ItssMeBen have the speed thing alreeady ready to go its less expensive than ten mags and if you had ten ready to rock thats like 5 minutes saved
MrSKATEitALL 1 year ago
@ItssMeBen no loading the speed loader is quicker by a little but the big advantage is that your thumb dosent hurt after 100+ rounds lol

Federal American Eagle ammo all come on stripper clips. Ex. 100 rounds box you get 10 stripper clips already loaded on them!
ObviouslyBoredKid 2 years ago
i need to load a full 30 round mag like that in 10 seconds or less in the army.
ben12342666 2 years ago
Get an "Easy Mag" or just condition yourself. As you I'm sure know better than me, M4 mags are very easy to load. Pistol mags are a bitch though.

It is a great way to store your .223 5.56 ammunition. Also, it is a great way to load your rifle FAST, in case you needed to.
Thanks for the Question.
