What a bizarre commercial.

The soundtrack contributes a great deal to its peculiarity. If these same visuals had had a regular orchestrated pop soundtrack, the effect would have been quite mainstream - which this definitely is not.

New Afri-Cola, you can buy now is not the original receipt of Afri-Cola. Very bad!!! Shame on Überkinger Company which now helds the brand of Afri-Cola.

Afaik, the mineralbrunnen AG has changed the receipt back to the original receipt, after heavy protests because of the new receipt. At least, in Germany.

Fritz-Cola has nothing to do with afri-cola, also not the receipt (Fritz-Cola has added citrus which afri-cola never had), the original receipt of Afri-Cola (after it was changed in 2001 iirc) is used in "Premium-Cola", which is unfortunatly hard to find.

JeriChsk is completly right. fritz-cola receipt is totally different to afri cola. fritz-cola is not bad but never tasted like any afri cola neither of the original nor of the now used receipt/formula.

that was charles wilp the creator of the spot. he originally wanted to do the music together with the "monks", a very early noisy experimental rock band who were managed by two admen, but they couldn't come to terms with the record company so he did it himself together with an orchestra. he also spoke some of the phrases and noises in the clip.

Do you mean the Monks who were American GI's in Germany in the mid 60's? They were more of a garage-y band with distortion and electric banjo... those Monks? or a different band? Thanks for the info!!!!

yes, exactly them. in the end when they were under control of those two german designers they used more and more of feedback noise and disharmonic sounds which was an inspiration for wilp since the spot is basically about breaking rules and taboos, what with the sexy nuns and stuff. just like the monks had their blasphemic monk outfits.
