That. Is. UNBELIEVEABLE! OMG you are amazing at this kind of stuff... I'm speechless.. That is an incredible talent! I wish I could do that, I draw - and I like it, and some people say that I'm good at it, but compared to this... It's just ugly doodles... I'm so jealous and yet really excited for you! Can't explain it.. You'll come far in life with this kind of talent that only few people are lucky to have.. ;) You are truly a gifted person.. :D
fuck dude...i mean seriously...im 100 percent honest when i say you are the best artist ive ever seen, and this is coming from a guy who appreciates michael angelo and leo da VInci ...waaaaaaaaaaaayy better than they were
Amazing....wow... Do you not draw in pencil first? What type of board are you working on? Keep it old school, traditional media is always better than digital!
I feel i've become to reliant on digital art...I really need to start doing traditional paintings again, and you might just have given me a kickstarts I needed :D
Sometimes i skip forward in your vids but then i see that it looks soo moore awsome so i skip back again too see it. XD Im skipping all the time its so wasome
Wonderful art creating! As an artist you inspire me to try acrylics again. I used to fight the fast drying aspect. Don't you feel though it forces you to layer, back to front, whereas oils let you flow into the back and foregrounds? thanks
Incredible painting! As an artist I have ask, because I'm not familiar with acrylics. I'm more of a modern artist and have been wanting to move to something more detailed, i use oils. Do you wash out the acrylics for wider areas? And use more opaque acrylics for the detail? I've only used them once and found them hard to work with.
Wow! You are amazing wether you're on the computer or just painting. Do you have a deviantART account? Then, you could post your pictures for other artists to see! (just a thought)
Hey there, I just wanted to say how inspirational your videos are and what a delight they are to watch. Fantasy art has always captured my imagination, especially classic fantasy such as dragons and werewolves. Your work is stunning, and just by watching your videos I've felt I have learnt something, and for that I thank you. Art is such a gift, and to inspire others through your visions, I think you deserve a pat on the back. Keep up the wonderful work.
Hii..... I want to try out acrylics (after digital, pencils and watercolors) as a new media and it was always a challenge for me, I've always thought acrylics are the "true, serious art" which is kinda stereotyped but anyways :) so far everywhere I looked the people were talking about the colors drying very fast... so what happens when they dry on canvas? or is it just slowing you down?
(we could assume I can manage to keep them moisturized on the palette via spraying them with water)
i tend to think the one done by hand looks better in this case :) the colors look, funny as it sounds, less atificial and the dragon itself looks less blurry. then again with the digital you could have wanted that :D but i like the hand done one better ^^
I suddenly feel very inspired to keep on drawing, but also discouraged that I will probably never be able to create something as detailed, precise and pretty as this!
the thing ive noticed about you is that you paint and paint, and we can very early on see the dragon, and what its like, but all over sudden you bring some lighting, or some water, or a certain color into it, and it just becomes even more awesome
@cgsbs, man since you like focusing on bad comment's i'm not going to hate but im going to be a bit sceptic about your hand drawing skills, which although great, pale in front of your computer ones! i think you should master the dark tones and the colour blend more in your live paintings.. take your "dragon awakes" digital painting and see for yourself where you lack the colours connecting and blending the bright with the dark tones the right way here... i hope you understand what i said...(tbc)
@cgbs im not a specialist in art language and i don't know how to express myself in the right terms, especially in english, but i think i was clear.... btw, i don't know how to draw anything more than graffiti in a pc program, so i really admire your pc based drawings... keep it up.... you really got it..... try drawing a snake or smth.... the scales should be a bit different and interesting to draw, if you haven't already ;)
@alejandrothefader I appreciate what you are saying. It's completely subjective, though. Some feel that acrylic version blows away the digital, while others feel opposite. I will say that the contrast you point to has little to do with one capability over another, but rather more of individual distinction of the piece. That is to say, those details are deliberate. I believe if I painted this to be an acrylic version of the digital one exactly, the acrylic one would come out better.
@cgsbgs ok, i get what you re referring to, but what i wanted to point out exactly is that while the pallette of colours you use is the same (a bit brighter in the acrilic version) the way you worked on the colour contrast and the focal points, although similar, it's better in the digital one, and that comes from three things i think, one is the detail you got to a smaller scale in the digital, the affinity you have towards digital painting and smth else i haven't quite discerned!
@alejandrothefader I hear ya. But I actually dislike the color depth and lack of rigidness in the digital version. I love the gritty rawness of the contrasts in the paint done with a brush. I remember I used to hate that about my airbrush work-- it looked virtually identical to the digital painting above. If anything, I feel like that technique lacks more than the brush work, which is more raw and challenging. (those fast drying, non-blendable paints! ;-) )Thanks for your kind comments.
@cgsbgs no prob man, keep up te good work! i can understand now what you say about the brush work, but what the ideal color balance may be for you or what you may want to see from your hand is different from what i would like to see in a painting... for example i like equilibrated mat contrast with one bright point and dark backgrownd for dark drawings and full brightness for shiny paintings hey, btw, do you know anything about manga or comics?
@cgsbgs hmmm, so could you briefely explain me the process of writing a comic? cause i have got a great plot, goot drawing skills but noever done so :P and i would also like a link or instructions to your comic if it's somewhere oute in the internet posted ;) thanks in advance
@cgsbgs Man that has got to be the best comment thread ever, full grammar and using high vocabulary. Finaly a comment thread where im not thinking '' He not going to school? '' and actually agreeing and respecting you opinions. Thank you
@alejandrothefader I do enjoy the acrylic version more. It has got more sharp contrast, and less "bloom" . To paint like that with acrylics needs a lot of skills.
i mean, im a hand painter, with no experience at painting with pc programs, and i fell i could paint better and more detailed the acrilic version of your dragon, but i could never reach the detail you get on your pc prog one even trying to, nor the richnes of the tone... i think that has to do with the process you are acustommed to and the possibilities of the pc.... but i may be wrong, i can't know until i master digital art.... you still gock it though, keep it up!
Your drawing skills are obviously amazing but the thing I key into, as an artist myself, is your masterful use of color. Your reflected light, atmospheric-perspective color choices, etc. Like I said - Masterful!!
Dude, I wasn't it expecting to turn out that good. Loved this. It's not my own style of working but seeing how you constructed it made me see through the illusion of how I expect your style to be constructed, if that makes any sense. You made a style that seems imposible for me to accomplish, seem possible. good work.
its kinda hard to tell wich turns out better between digital and traditional, their two different paintings, yet a 'painting' is always better for in person, but holy cow dude your a wizard on all this.
Nice. Real nice. I have GOT to take some classes and get in on this! This looks almost like oil. You have a good hand! I like the hand painting more than digital...just adds a more personal organic feel to it.
Anyone with anything negative to say about the way you create your art is a loser and a douche. You are obviously incredibly talented and the idea that you created this piece of art simply to shoot down your detractors is both awesome and unfortunate at the same time. I respect your moxie and kind desire to show them you CAN succeed through traditional media, but it's unfortunate that there are enough bitches out there that you felt you had to do this. You're awesome and inspirational. fantastic
Does anybody know if the artist paints from different pictures or out of his head? Either way it's amazing, but if he paints entirely from his head that's just phenominal.
iin the begining i was not impressed. And when you added color to the picture it was ruined. But when all the details you added with the black color. The picture got an amazing depth and he became "alive". It went from mediocre to amazing. Thumbs up for paper and not a computer
Wow! How long did that take in real time?

Anyone with anything negative to say about the way you create your art is a loser and a douche. You are obviously incredibly talented and the idea that you created this piece of art simply to shoot down your detractors is both awesome and unfortunate at the same time. I respect your moxie and kind desire to show them you CAN succeed through traditional media, but it's unfortunate that there are enough bitches out there that you felt you had to do this. You're awesome and inspirational. fantastic

I could do that! It would take about 3 years, and many tries though.

traditional artwork is way more impressing to me, because its not as easy as digital artwork, I think..
but that doesn't mean that I don't like digital drawings ^^

Does anybody know if the artist paints from different pictures or out of his head? Either way it's amazing, but if he paints entirely from his head that's just phenominal.

iin the begining i was not impressed. And when you added color to the picture it was ruined. But when all the details you added with the black color. The picture got an amazing depth and he became "alive". It went from mediocre to amazing. Thumbs up for paper and not a computer
