This is just weird... its kind of interesting to see what the first draft of a script would look like if someone just went out and filmed it with no changes! It's super bizarre seeing lines that made it to the pilot remixed in no particular order. How the heck did this make it to series? I'm starting to think this isn't the unaired pilot, but is really the pilot from an alternate universe where the show was cancelled after 3 episodes.

ok first of all that was a giant library for a high school lol and second, I'm glad they recast Willow, I did like this girl and think she could have done a great job with the character, but there's absolutely nothing more adorable than Alyson in the pilot. You just bond with her the moment you see her and Cordelia makes fun of her, she's just so cute!

Alright, so Alyson ended up being the best actor on the entire show. For real...no one could top her. Sarah had her moments, hell yeah she had her moments. But, well this show has brought me some strong emotions before, and they usually involve scenes with Alyson. Although the scene in Angel where Fred dies literally brings me tears....

the reason why this willow didnt work is because theres no chemistry and she cant act. it seems like sarah is giving her all and flows and this willow doesnt give back what sarah is giving her. allysssson hannigan is so flowy.... she has chemistry with the other characters effortlessly.

1)Alyson is a million times better for Willow

2)This girl is a SUCKY actress

3) think the weight does has something to do with not casting her. I think the "insecure, overweight virgin who is in love with her dorky best friend who doesn't and never could feel the same way" had already been played and not necessarily loved. I think with Alyson in the role we got the "slightly insecure, funny without realizing it, girl who is in love with Xander, who the audience could picture loving her back"

They replaced the original Willow for one simple reason. She clearly cannot act. Just these first few minutes every main character is establushed interms of performance. The "Wllow" chick just plain sucked. She had to go, or else she would have brought down the show big time. You can see it in this vid already, and she only had like 4 lines.

@Nessarocks100 in the beginning of the show I thought alyson hannigon was ugly. There wasn't any flair to her, she was just another skinny girl who wears blah clothes. This actress has some depth to her, something different. I think she is quite beautiful :)

The whole point I fell in love with the show was sarah michlle gellars incredible acting, in which outshined both nicolas brendon & alyson haniggen :)

Buffy looks younger here and innocent.. in the original pilot, she was more sassy, looked a little older and confident.

This version was alright, but i lolled at how the vampires died haha =D

There was something in her facial epression that I felt didn't quite work with dark willow. I didn't really believe that she she could have "destroyed the world"
