You can also use vuze. Better than Utorrent. Also other programs you will need depending by the uploader is Winrar, 7zip, and daemons lite. People like extremezone on the piratebay mostly upload daemons lite format, .mdf. Let me know if you need help with torrents

@aknowles19 Torrents are files that other people have saved onto there computer that they will share with you. So if someone has the movie "Batman", they upload that as a torrent, and you can download it and watch the movie "Batman". You need to have the free program called "utorrent" for torrents to work on your computer, plus a "codec" to play them back. If you want some more help, send me a personal message.

@deffmonke Both. When you or anyone else clicks on a torrent and begins to download it, they become a "peer" or (leech). When you or anyone else finishes downloading the file, (100%), they become a (seed). If there is only 1 seed and 50 peers trying to download the file from him, it will take a long time. If there are 25 seeds and 25 peers, it will work out OK because you can download from peers as well as seeds. Generally, peers are good.

The difference between leachers and seeds isn't that one of them shares the file and the other just downloads. Seeds are those sharing a file who have a complete copy of the file and leachers are those still missing some parts of the file. A torrent is really only a description of a file consisting of small pieces and allows the torrent client to keep track of which pieces it downloaded and which still remain to be downloaded from other seeders or leachers who got a particular piece you miss.

@GtrKing72 My torrents go into "Downloads". When you download a torrent in utorrent, right click on the name of the torrent in the utorrent program. One selection should be "open containing folder", click that one and it will find the file no matter where it is. Also, you can't play a torrent until it finishes downloading.
