In reality, The 9th company did, successfully defend hill 3234, but only six men were killed from the company, and 28 of the total 39 were wounded. The entire time the company was in contact with HQ, and they commanders did whatever was possible concerning ammunition and resupplying the soldiers.

@bluewhofu17690 I think you have alot of things mistaken, this battle was at the end, when Russia was bankrupt, and the Mujihideen had cut the Russian supply lines by at least 80%, Russian logistics were smashed, and Air power was limited because of the stingers. Yes indeed in a clean battle at the start things would happen as you said. However after 8 years of occupation, the USSR was dying.

It is a special purpose Pakistani unit called "Black Storks".

They were funded by Pakistani ISI and USA CIA, so they were quite well equipped.
