  • landyachtz evow?

  • learn how to say evo

  • wait what's the name of the helmet??

  • nice shades

  • evo, randal 42 degree, and abec 11 CENTRAX check dat wheel out. dat shits my DH setup, same as the setup that won the festival of speed last yr. nice vid btw lol

  • whats the song?

  • are biltin bearings better than bones swiss ceramics or bones super reds

  • that is some stupid wedging up front. 52*+15*=67* which rides like shit.

  • SHITTTTTTYYY MUSIC

  • i lost some respect for you when i saw that you pushed mongo

  • @Axeomeface What got a problem with mongo people hes better than you and you push regular so what now i dont see you posting any vids of you skating whos to say you even can.

    Stop hating

  • I guess that's what they call scream-o music.

  • are the retros soft im looking for soft wheels on my board but i was gonna get the o tang in heats but they were recalled help plz

  • @unclejuju12 it depends what duro you want to get and what type of wheel. for retro, if you're looking for soft wheels go for the 80a lime bigzigs or anything from bigzigs or zigzags 80a or under. but my recommendation is to get the orange 80a otang IN HEATS, i have them and they are amazing and they can slide if broken in correctly. but if you can't get the in heats then go for the 80a lime bigzigs

  • @iornmaidenmanic

Seriously? The evo is considered by many world chapmions to be one of the best downhill:/racing boards on the market

  • hey dude umm can you help me choose the right trucks, bearings, wheels and other stuff cause im planning a landyachtz evo..thanks

  • @radicaldude881

Well its all personal preference. Depends on how long you've been riding. If you want something more advanced or if you're pretty new, I just suggest you get my setup. Im actually STILL using EVERYTHING you see in this video today!

    Cheers!

  • @retrolol If I'm in too going fast, like bombing, what wheels do you recc. for this?

  • @retrolol is it good for some freestyle and genral comuting and or pushing please respond

  • franky huh..."the summer wind..came blowin in...from across the sea.." during the Apocalypse, i might not kill you ;)

  • thats the exact set up i would want but i would probs get hawgs and bones red

  • no the evo isnt great for downhill and commuting. its heavy as fuck

  • @ironmaidenmanic So? Weight doesn't do anything unless you're carrying your board around a lot.

  • wich song with of mice and men is this? :O

  • Hey man quick questions.. i have a never summer heist and i wanna get lime big zigs for sliding but also just carving and cruising are the lime good for that?

  • ahahah you sound like a faggg. lol jkjkjk your awesome lol (no your not dude dont lie) ahahahah sorry im a stupid idiot lol just had 3 packs of monsters lol!!!!!!!!!! fun fun. sick gear btw.... random moment :D

  • @rOcKsTr4lIfE122709 Katelynn shut the hell up you don't know what you're talking about. Yes i have to be mean..but then again, when aren't i mean to you? <3

  • Dang man, that is a sweet board! I just got a Rayne top-mount longboard for downhills! I saw the EVO at the skate shop, and it looked super sick!

  • Very nice setup, and choice of song.

    Of mice and men xD

  • @BMTHRoxsYourSoxs

    haha hellyeah! Thanks mate!

    Cheers!

  • you are a top notch noob

  • also said landyachts wrong

  • @LongboarderFreakz

Do some research, I said it right.

    and you misspelled landyachtz.

    Cheers!

  • @retrolol its land-yachtz. not landy-achtz

  • @retrolol Ur wrong dude

    And ur a douche

  • @retrolol you said landy yachtz its land yachtz

  • @LongboarderFreakz haha retrolol poned you XD

  • nice setup im ganna get some biltins casue i HATE speed rings and spacers flying all over the place when i clean my bearings.

a tip: work on your stance a little if you ever get more serious into downhill. do some research on google. itill only do u good!

    happy skating

  • @Bsblob

Good choice! I agree, the spacers are such a pain.

Haha thanks for the pointer, I wasn't in speed stance cause the hill was so small, but thanks! (also, i ride mongo so my stance looks weird anyway lol)

    Cheers!

  • @retrolol sorry this is a little late but you already know that biltins suck!!!

    1. they are a non sealed bearings so dirt will get in them easily

2.pushing is a bitch when going long distances(i went to skate the lake and it felt like i a was loosing speed rather than maintaining it :D

    3. over all i would not recommend getting them. get daddies board shop bearings there great and cheap!!

  • @jakerumbaugh15

Hmm that might be your opinion but I just cleaned my biltin bearings after a whole year of use and they're still speedy quick.

    Thanks for the feedback though!

    Cheers!

  • @jakerumbaugh15

    1. What's to stop you from throwing on seals from another bearing? And most bearings don't come with seals anyways.

    2. Sounds like you need to either work on your endurance or clean your bearings.

    3. DBS has bad business practices, I won't give them any of my money.

  • @jakerumbaugh15 you can just replace the stock biltin seals with rubber ones and it'll keep the crap out.

  • How could u spend 1000 dollars on a board. Mine is 400 and I thought that was bad

  • How can u spend 1000 dollars on a board mine is 400 and I thought that was bad

  • How is the turning on the evo?

  • @jackyboy120

Its given me the best turn on any board I've used so far. The drop mount of the deck is so low that it gives a great feel for the tightest turns and makes it easy to throw your hand down to help power slide into any turn.

    Cheers!

  • @retrolol wow. looks pretty stable for that good turning.

  • @jackyboy120 well the beauty of a skate tool to loosen trucks and a nice pair of venom bushings can make turning awesome as well.

  • what bearings do u have in ther?

  • @Longboardersrule12 Biltin Bearings, they're awesome!

  • @retrolol next time swiss ceramics dude with siesmic wheels

  • @SinRaveN1

haha I would be I really dont have the money to throw down on ceramic bearings. And im not too familiar with the siesmic wheels yet

  • whats the song at 1:25 ?

  • sup dude... i live in seattle haha nice. but can this board carve alright ? like i heard it can only do downhill but i want to carve some too so do you think this would be a good or bad choice for me

  • @slotback67

Hey brah, hellyeah you have some great hills over there!

But yeah, thats the beauty of the Evo, it carves wonderfully.

Many riders complain about it being "heavy" and only good for downhill, but i commute and push this monster all over the place and its great. Carving is just one of things this baby can do. So if you're interested in freeride carving and downhill bombing, this is the board for you!

    Cheers!

  • @retrolol What do u consider carving

  • @HMHLongboarderz carving is simply gliding down a hill, to control speed. I personally like to carve to get the full performance and control out of my trucks

  • evo is badass, ive been riding my evo for 3 years and still badass board...

  • Do you think i could use a full face motorcycle helmet for dh?

  • @IlikeToLooongboard

Yeah you forsure! But the only this is that they're much heavier than normal helmets. I noticed this with my monster helmet, but hey it could end up giving you more momentum!

    Cheers!

  • @IlikeToLooongboard you can also get a full face helm for bmx. thats what i have its waaay lighter than motorcycle helms. its gets the job done

  • @cali2092007

Yeah you're right, as much as i like my helmet, it is somewhat heavy.

  • who gives a shit if you push mongo? like half my friends do and they push the same as me, so quit bein a blue waffle.

  • @MrTomthedestroyer

    Amen brah!

  • hello ?

  • how much did u pay for ur setup?

  • @lemo1014 I got the whole set up for around $270

  • do you have any risers between the trucks and the board

  • @theflyinchocolatemil

Nope, no risers are necessary with this setup.

    Cheers!

  • got mine love ever sinse i my first cruse

  • way to push mongo like a bitch

  • @drummer1056 hey little billy, id like to see you push faster than me. And if you understand longboarding, doesnt matter what your stance is.

    Cheers, asswipe.

  • @retrolol anytime, anyplace, i will kick the shit outta you in pushing, hell i'll do it barefoot and show your sorry mongo bitch ass whassup

  • How do you like the Landyachtz Evo in the curves?

  • @Brudisnax

It curves on a dime, and the large concave locks in your feet perfectly for great balance in tight curves.

    Cheers!

  • dude that last song was sick, sounded a bit like Attack Attack, (i know it wasnt them it just sounded similar lol) anyway yeah thats a sick board im thinking about getting one soon, hopefully in a month or two

  • @partyhardybill

    HELLYEAH BRO!

but funny you should say it sounds like Attack Attack because it pretty much is because the original singer of Attack Attack left the band and formed Of Mice & Men and thats whats playing!

GET IT DUDE! Best investment I ever made.

    Cheers!

  • wats the third song after lady gaga?

  • @adam9875

its part of the song, Seven thousand miles for what by Of Mice & Men.

    Cheers!

  • this last song is horrible! i thought you were somewhat of a cool guy to be listening to sinatra but shit was i wrong!!

  • @omglmao12345

ahahahahaha! Im all around crazy with my music taste, but sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it.

    Cheers!

  • ya but its only 1/4 inch riser, do u have any risers on? and nah.. my trucks were on like really tight already, but thats not the problem, its just that when i turn on it, the board is so low that i can turn harder than like a tiny lean, or its just scraps the bottom... HARD

  • hey ya i got my dh race board today, and i cant basicly NOT turn at all cus the board is way to low, i scraped the bottom like 10 times trying to avoid running into stuff, have u got this problem?

  • @davidzzz94 no i dont, do you have risers on your board? or are your trucks very loose?

  • NOOO, don't push mongo style.

  • @CamelDrifter haha i just get more power pushing mongo

  • @CamelDrifter why not?

  • hey how do those lime bigzigs feel? like do they grip more than slide or no sliding at all?

  • @soggywilson

they feel awesome man, they run over anything and they grip like glue. They're not very good for sliding.

    Cheers!

  • @retrolol ya have u ever ridden orangatangs? cus i own orangatangs, and my friend rode it and told me that its a lot smoother than his lime bigzigs, like he said lime bigzigs feel to stiff, do u get that felling ever?

  • @davidzzz94 im glad you brought that up man, because I do get that feeling. I actually just ordered some orange orangatangs cause they do ride a lot smoother. I like the big zigs for fast tight corners, but the octangs are way softer and have more grip and i think they're better for carving in my opinion.

    cheers!

  • @retrolol dang, nice man thanks for replying so fast, im just about to buy the landyachtz DH race with lime bigzigs, i guess im just gonna go with the orange orangatangs, thanks bro

  • @davidzzz94 No problem at all man! The DH race is an AWESOME board! Sounds like an great setup!

    Happy bombing my friend,

    Cheers!

  • @retrolol and dude! those slide gloves? how come they dont have anything on the fingers? doesnt that mean, ur fingers r always gonna bog u down if they touch the ground?

  • @davidzzz94 ah yeah, that is a downside, but luckily landyachtz purposely made the finger with two layers of leather, so its really durable. Im still wearing away the first layer and they're still awesome.

    cheers!

  • At first it's a little hard to keep the fingers from touching the asphalt but you get used to it. With a glove that has finger pucks, you can't grab the board while turning or carry it.

  • Actually, if you're just starting out otang would likely be the better wheel. Grip at first, then break it down to do slides. My opinion's based off using a different wheel for every discipline. (push, cruise, dh, drift, tech slide. I even trashed a set of Retro Classic Freerides in one day.)

  • The Otang thane is softer than Reflex so it won't feel as harsh of a ride. Otang also breaks down faster and is meant to slide after use. If you like pink, 77a BigZigz are easier on the feet and grip better. But if you want to wait a few weeks, Retro is coming out with the long awaited Centrax wheel. 77mm, 68mm contact patch. A big wide wheel that's meant to grip grip grip. I believe it will have 74, 77 and 80a (Green, Pink, Lime). But since it's wide it might not be a good pusher.

  • 1:30 nice music

  • @ItTastesLikeJAM

    Thanks broski!

    Of Mice & Men

    Cheers!

  • cheers

  • I didn't know Landy made gloves..

  • @ZoneShuffle

    Yep! And they're great quality!

  • You should de-wedge the front, or get a 40* baseplate for it. My Randals felt like crap at 60*, I can only imagine what the bears feel like at 67*.

  • 62*

  • How is it 62*?

    52* Bears + 15* wedging = 67*

  • 52* bears have a raked hanger of 5*. So if the hanger is flipped the geometry is at 47* and unflipped it is at 57*. It is not possible to reach 52* on a bear.

Therefore if he is running the hangers flipped and is on an evo (15* wedge): 47+15= 62.

  • The pivot and kingpin angle are the same either way. Flipping them doesn't change the angle, only how the truck feels.

  • It's not ACTUALLY changing the pivot and kingpin angle (obviously, since it isn't as if it is remolding the baseplate), but it is EFFECTIVELY changing the angle by 5, meaning that if you were to draw an imaginary line through the axle to intersect an imaginary line horizontal to the earth, the angle is 57*. This is the angle that matters for your turning geometry. An unflipped bear turns as if it is 57*, so the truck is, in effect, 57*.

  • The rake doesn't affect the angle, just how the truck feels.

Check the Randal website's FAQ, there's a section on flipping hangars.

  • Of Mice & Men sick! Hey do Big Zigs slide at all or are then not to good for sliding?

  • this is my dream :D

  • who skates with a rash gaurd

  • The hell is a "rash guard"?

  • you are a pussy! that hill is tiny, the first time i ever got on a longboard the hill was more than twice that, and that was on a board from GI Joe

  • GI Joe?... fuckin pinner ass poser. Go to a real fucking skate shop (and no not Zumiez). I'm sure this dude has done some gnarly hills but didn't want to do it with a CAMERA in his hand...

  • oy rickmacin the gi joe board was a friends, i own an evo and have taken it up to 58mph, and i race in events, ummm u ever heard of the maryhill festival of speed, and ya i also got footage of it. so ya if ur gunna try n be an internet hardass then lets race. I WILL TRUMP YOU!

  • thats what i thought, to scared to race?

  • @rickmacin

Thanks bro. And @walkertylerj, hes right, I not gonna take my Nikon down a hill a 58mph, i just wanted to get all the gear in action. Im not trying to show off lol.

  • @retrolol

suuuuuuure thats what u say, get a gopro and get good footage, im sick of people posting stupid videos of "gear reviews" when they dont even show actual good skating in it.

  • Dude, nice board.. Im gonna get one. But probably some 1052s. I want a 35 degree hangar. And whatt was the song at 1:25??

  • @guitarguy2016

Thanks man! 1052's are great! Especially for a larger wheel. The song is called Seven Thousand Miles For What by Of Mice and Men.

  • im so sick of poeple alwase say its not a good board to ride around and only good for down hill but i will eventrally put my evo vid up soon

  • @cj2o2oisfail

agreed man. I hate how all the wussies complain about how "heavy" it is.

    looking forward to seeing it!

    cheers!

  • dude i know, that board can hella slide too. i got a DH race myself but ive ridden the evo

  • dude its pronounced more like e-vo!

  • f-ing epic music for it and im not talking bout the metal ^^

  • hey i'm about to buy an evo. do you think i'll need risers?

  • hey ive had a sector 9 for about a year now and i guess im a pretty good rider and i rode my friends evo and loved it. it was a little big for me cuz im only 5 foot, i love bombing hills but my sector 9 just speed wobles to much any suggestions??

  • @spazzy456

well it depends on what truck you got and make sure you tighten them. you also might wana get some special bushings made for bombing and speed.

    cheers!

  • hey thanks i just have one more question one of my friends recomended the grom race what do you think?

  • whats the cheapest Landyachtz available and how much is it uk£. i wanna get into this man looks sick and the Landyachtz look immense

  • @lMisterMeaner

well dont go for the cheapest board, or you'll just get a dingy.

and i would suggest not jumping into landyachtz so fast. you should start on something cheaper to make sure you like it.

i suggest a sector9 and then go landy when you get more experience, cause they're expensive.

  • fair enough mate cheers for the advice.

  • @retrolol I can't afford a new so I need to get a used board I was offered an evo for a decent price idk though because I heard it couldn't carve well how is this board for carving and stuff? Honestly I wouldn't be going that fast I don't plan to bomb all the time even though I obviously will I need something that's good for commuting and stuff too what's a good all round board I was looking at the nemmy

  • @Striidyr

Well in my opinion the evo carves like a dream. And i commuted with this board around miami for a half year before going up north for hills and i loved it. Its a great all around cruise board, especially with really loose trucks.

  • @retrolol huh i rode one today seemed really stiff I'm prolly gunna get a dropspeed or a hellcat

  • the drop speed and hell cat are also stiff boards. id consider the switch. its cheaper, reversable, dropped for great slides and control. pluss it'll take any hill you want to bomb fine. i personaly have an evo though and use it for everything.

  • @lMisterMeaner hay the first speed board i got was a vault dropdown bendy but rather stable good for getting into it

  • @xxsillycatxx

Hey thanks. might by a regular skateboard though

  • yo what wheels should i get plz gelp

  • @xwko12

    lime big zigs

    or octangs in heats

  • @mc5tab

lets have a push contest, lets see who wins. mongo gives you more push power.

    cheers! go die!

  • mongo pushers FTW

  • @degada666

    hellyeah! lol

  • motorcycle helmets are heavier but if your goin fast then its alot better than a skate helmet cuz u dont have the wind in your face and you can have your eyes open

  • hell ya! repp motion!!! been there before right before burkegilman trail :D haha that and NWS are the best stores. anyone readingthis shouldnt spam this comment but should check out 5mile longboards too. they kinda based their board style offa the evo. doesnt compare, but is still tight.

  • @skatedivona

hellyeah bro! thanks for the info!

    5mile are awesome!

    cheers!

  • i heard that you don't want a motorcycle helmet because it makes your head weigh a lot more and slams it into the ground. i'm not sure but it makes sense.

  • @Fearlessnippz

ya know, the more i think about it when i put it on, i think the same thing. its just a temporary thing until i get more money for a better one.

  • just lookin out for a fellow longboarder.

  • omfg im getting an evo for christmas!

  • @xwko12

    GREAT XMAS GIFT MAN! :D

  • You should put a visor on that helmet (you can build it with plexiglas), and get better hills man but great setup

  • @turbo848

yeah you're right, i just haven't gotten around to making it yet.

and yeah, that little hill was just to show the gear in motion.

    thanks bro!

    cheers!

  • hey man, I've been thinking about getting an evo but don't know what wheels to get? should I get lime Big Zigs or Abec 11 flywheels?

  • @SelectWalkthroughs

ah! i was in the same problem while i was picking out my board. I couldn't decide either. they're both awesome wheels. so its really all personal preference. i LOVE the big zigs, i'd just recommend going with them and they're cheaper!

    cheers!

  • thanks :D

  • oh, and nice setup btw :D

  • @SelectWalkthroughs

Thanks bro! when you get your board, make a video and show off your setup too!

    :D

  • Comment removed

  • will do, but i'll proabally make another account because this account is more of a gaming account lol

  • Bigzigs.. SUPER GRIP! :D

  • Dude, you don't need a DH board for hills like those, or slide gloves, or full faces.

    L2ride

  • @VivaLaDann

dude it was a simple little hill just to show the gear in action.

didn't feel like filming and dying on a huge hill.

    cheers.

  • learn to stand

  • Just got my '09 Evo in two days ago. $214.00 from stokedskateboards- with RII 180's and beasts(since I did not know that lime BZ's are better-will pick some up). I have 85 bushings and it is surprisingly carvy . I'm going stiffer and with the big zigs. what do you think about RII's VS BG 852's(I know you chose 852's but is there a lot of difference?) Chad (at stoked)said that 42's in front - 50's in back on an Evo was recomended. what say u?

want stable as possible for DH. Deck feels great!

  • VERY nice setup and great price 0_o im a big fan of the RII's but for some reason I just like the bear grizzys more, theres not any big differences. Having your trucks set to 47 in front and 57 in back is a cool way to add stability but still be able to go through turns well. I didn't personally like it, so i just do 47 when i bomb and 57 when i cruise. I suggest you set your trucks on 47 for the most stability.

    CHEERS! great board bro!
