  • .........THE HOUSE IS SLANTED COMMON PEOPLE

  • Forgive my ignorance, but...

at 1:35 how can THAT be explained??

They're standing with one foot each on the leveled board...

  • i been there before, it was trippy

  • The reason that place appears to be the way it is is because Mystery Spot is located on a slope and when you are there the horizon is not visible due to the many trees surrounding the location. Your inability to see the horizon disrupts your understanding of what is flat and what is sloped.

  • that place is a trip!!!!!!!

  • If you guyz dont blieve it then why dont u go and find out urself instead of sying things that you dont even know!

  • I've been there and I KNOW its an illusion.

  • Wow..i can see that the mystery spot is a good buisness in the USA ..i'll open one spot in my country!!!

  • hahaaah nothing to do with satan we all was cast down before he did its only a way thinks are built cn do tht with a model

  • the house is sloped and the camera is level so it looks like the people are leaning

  • that is so fake

  • omg no its not ive been there

  • I've been there and...yes it is fake.

  • i went to the mystery spot it was fun and i remember i lost my ballence and hit my head against the wall XD

  • @sonicguy56

    Yeah....

I remember as a kid that I'd lose it, and slam against the walls, or into someone else who was trying to walk through...

    Your post cracked me up!

  • We'll never know what was slanted and what wasn't unless we find out whether the camera was being held level.

  • Comment removed

  • This is real! When Satan was thrown down from heaven, he landed on this spot. It is in the Bible, look it up.

  • do people have to throw religion into everything????

  • LOL Well, I guess God did when he threw Satan down. Ok, ya topped my joke, good on ya.

  • Having a large slant overcoming the pull of a slight slant to move a ball isn't very impressive.

  • Soo... a very simple optical illusion, the explanation of which I learned about in the 8th grade. Big frigging deal.

  • Physics itself is a mistery.

    Awesome place, I'm going! :D

  • I like that! 'Physic itself is a mystery" - Thanks!

  • apparently spelling is to

  • Geez I missed the 'y'.... apparently not capitalizing the 1st letter in a sentence and not placing the period at the end of that sentence is also a mYstery.

  • also I should have used 'too' and not 'to'.... but unlike you my grammatical errors are out of laziness and not ignorance... Which of course is not necessarily a good thing...but im not gonna start using periods and caps on you tube for the sake of proper grammer

  • Yes it's 'too', how could I've missed that in your 'sentence'!? Or did I?

If you're going to criticize make sure you write well. Call me ignorant, but you don't fall behind in that category. Screw laziness, it forms part of ignorance TOO when it comes to such grammatical errors.

  • you should blog about it, then I could totally not read it.

  • @mrslippery66

    its spelled "too".

  • Holy crap dude! YouKnowEntertainments from Salinas! You rock

  • Small world - Welcome aboard!

  • i once jacked off at mystery spot and my semen just rised up in the air like a baloon.

  • @anirudh1212 ...

  • Hey dude. where you guys stoned? Just curious..

  • Ha! No, just having a good time. But I'm sure going there stoned would be incredibly cool.

  • Haha! Cool. I think you just game me an idea

  • Living in Santa Cruz I have come to appreciate the mystery spot a lot more. When I was a kid and I found out the truth, it sucked. It's not about what the cause is, it's about the spiffy effect.

  • The truth? The truth is it's magic! (sshhhh, don't tell anybody it's just an illusion).

  • Dude, I like your beard.

  • lol he loves that level!!!

  • A boy's level is his best friend ;^)

  • boss kulo nitip vidoe respon on attacment you blog sing panjenengen ojo di hapus nge

  • Did those bastards slap a bumper sticker on your car while you were in there? Bastards.... all of them!

  • LMAO - No, they gave us each bumper stickers, but they did not put it on the car for us. And, no, I have not stuck it on either.

  • There is another place in South Dakota called Cosmos Mystery Spot. My opinion is, there is no mystery but optical illusion. Observe closely how the house and other structures are angled from the ground. Both houses from SD and CA are structured the same way. This angles creates the mind to think you are not standing straight. Observe and research more and anyone can create the same effect.

  • But they're still a lot of fun, even once you do know the trick.

  • gravity is uneven there it is stronger

  • There it is stronger... or is it weaker there? Hard to tell...

  • idk in onl 12 years old

  • To show it's not an optical illusion?!?!?! THE WHOLE F***ING PLACE IN AN OPTICAL ILLUSION!!!

  • Oh, sure, go and spoil it for everybody ;^)

  • HA HA HA! That comment made my day Thanks!

  • Yo man, its really not an illusion if you do some research, these are actually naturally occurring vortices that do exist. We do not understand even a small fraction of the forces around us, how can you protest as to the validity of this, besides, you havent been there obviously.. It really is a real phenomena and we cant explain it. Maybe its the beginning of black holes in the future to come, or maybe its natural, we dont really know that much about the earth and how it works.. peace..

  • Yo man... You really gotta give me your dealers number. He's obviously givin' you the good shit!

  • you're a freakin prick.

  • lol, i want some of that shit too

  • i call it gravity

  • LiquidChem, you are ignorant as fuck, wow.

  • You must be mentally retarded. I am infomed, how can I be ignorant? You are the one acting childish. I didn't say the stupid Mystery spot was real u FAG but there are vortices. You ass clown

  • Can we please, please try not to use the "r" word in this manner?

  • seems like a room at the ripley's believe it or not muesuem in orlando florida, but I want to go here also.

  • I guess there are mystery spots in many locations, but around here, this is considered the Original and the Best! Take care.

  • Wow! that was mysterious!

  • Mysterious... and Spotty!

  • WOW it's a bit of drive off the road. Never been but would like to go. Thanks for the cool vid! :)

  • Thank you!

  • ''Have you ever been to the world famous mystery spot'' Dazzled & confused, a little sexual tension there :)

  • Actually, I cheated there. I asked him that on the way to the Mystery Spot and he was answering based on when he went eight years ago. But I liked the effect of using the shot at the end. It seemed to add to the mystery!

  • I could have sworn I saw Hitchcock walk by in the background during one the zooms of the level...

  • You're very attentive! Yes, that was Hitch reflected in the bubble. For some reason, he had no problem with the gravity there.

  • Looks like fun. I love going to

    places like that!

  • Stupid tourist attractions are okay in real life - but when you have a video camera and a YouTube account, they can be much more fun. Glad you enjoyed!

  • Interesting... does the $5 entry fee include the tour or is that extra?

  • The $5 is for the tour, per person, plus parking. You can only go in on a tour, no self-service allowed. It is fun though.

  • You may not believe this, but I can actually achieve this very same mysterious effect right here in my own home! And all I need is a few bottles of whiskey. True story.

  • Well, of course. There's magnets in whiskey too, you know. But, did you know that if you drink a whole bunch of whiskey and then go to the mystery spot, they cancel each other out, and you can walk perfectly fine? It's true!

  • o snap, mystery.

  • Terribly mysterious!

  • wow! that was fast driving at the beginning!

  • Citizenstand is a daredevil! I'm just glad to still be alive.

  • i was stoned when i hit that spot, i just sat there and stared...

  • So, did that help accentuate the experience, or make it seem like nothing was wrong?

  • im not sure, i was lookin at the bird behind it...

  • my comment posting was werri. to continue. perfect. ripleys. its in the books. awsome. i want to go there now. thanks. i might have too much thou. defing gravity here. its always a mystory or is it a secreat? take it easy.

  • A mysterious secret... I can make you a little woozy too. Thanks!

  • All my life I've wanted to see this place! Thanks!

  • You're quite welcome. You can spend the five bucks I just saved you any way you like ;^)

  • Well I know what the kids are getting for christmas now. Spirit levels!

  • Don't forget the rubber balls - It's levels and balls together that make the magic happen!

  • Man, you guys had some good acid! 5 stars!!!!

  • There are some very pretty mushrooms growing along the path to the gate... Thank you!

  • Even better!

  • Huh?

  • exactly.

  • Huh? Huh? Eh? ...... Oh!

  • Huh?

  • Uh, huh.

  • I remember going there when I was younger and not being at all impressed. Now I want to go all over again...just to see if it would be different this time!

  • The guide kept telling us that we were lucky to go when it wasn't too busy, and that during the summer, when the groups are upwards of 30 per tour, "the effect" is lessened. So, plan your trip accordingly ;^)

  • A very weird place, looked like fun! Nice hat too;)

  • Glad you liked the hat. It can also be seen in my Lone Ranger videos (plug). Thank you!

  • kemosabe

  • lol, whack stuff!

  • Whack is a good way to describe it. Yes. Thanks!

  • There used to be one of those Mystery Spots in Northern Michigan and I visited it as a child. This brought back a lot of memories as they were almost identicle to each other.

  • Hey, bnessel1973 (Brian) was mentioning that one. One of you is going to have to return and do a video ... or both of you! Glad it brought back memories for you.

  • Yes, I checked after watching this and it's still there! I might take my grandaughter up there this summer~ain't no way I'm going North in the winter, lol!

  • wow..that was cool..mabey someday i can get out there to see this....pretty crazy....

    great vid

  • Thanks - It's definitely worth a trip. Well, some kind of trip.

  • We had a Mystery Spot here at a local amusement park, but it was called The Wacky Shack, I think. The whole place was torn down...they put up a store that sells nothing but levels and balls...(que ominous music or rimshot, I can't decide)

  • Just don't tell me that your ball and level store is a sex shop and we'll be okay.

  • What the hell! ANyhow that was cool!

  • Thank you!

  • you are so funny ken!

very well done and it wouldn't have been the same without the subtitles!!!

  • The titles came out of the poor quality of the video due to the darkness and our guide's quiet voice. But I think it worked. Thank you for suggesting we go there, it was a lot of fun.

  • Incredible! Amazing! Strange but true? It's vintage kenrg! How can this be explained? Einstein? No, he was a fool. See Steven Hawkings explanation of this strange phenomenon here:

    w ww.youtube.c om/watch?v=Trx3aKJy-cY

[as per usual, remove the spaces from the link above to enable it to properly execute]

  • Yes! It has to do with the inflation of the universe, the creation of the stars, black holes, and the speed of light! Thank you for that link. I understand it all now!

  • he says nothing about the mystery spot or any reference to the physics YOU ARE FAIL

  • I am deeply mystified.

I want a ball and a level now!! Damn you and your subliminal video messages.

  • I'm sure balls and levels are available at the gift shop, along with the t-shirts, coffee mugs, and key chains.

  • you want some balls LOL

  • LMAO. Hermgirl666 has been so funny with that answer lol

  • 'The Mystery Spot" That's a place I find with a few friends after a few of those fruity umbrella drinks! Bumbadum chhhh!

Sorry, I'm in "dirty comedian" mode and I can't get out.

  • Suggestive humor is always welcome. Thank you!

  • Looks like someone is exploiting powerful optical illusions here - google "Ames room" for a powerful demonstration of forced perspective. I don't understand what you believe any magnetic field is doing.

  • What "magnets" are doing is providing a completely illogical answer so that I can file this away under "fully explained." Because "completely faked tourist trap" doesn't sound nearly as good ;^) Okay. So it's not a magnetic field. How about ... vacuum? No...

  • We have a Mystery Spot in Michigan. It freaked me out as a kid. I'd forgotten about it. But, since you posted this, I think I'll take my son so I can freak him out. Ah, tradition!

  • Excellent, and when you do take your son, be sure to bring a video camera too! There are mystery spots scattered all over the place, wherever there are people with worthless land, an overactive imagination, and gullible tourists. Thank you!

  • Been there a few times - it's genuinely interesting - many of the trees also only have foliage growing on one side and some are growing in a spiral. It's a cool place to visit for sure. I do think the hut at the top of the hill is an optical illusion though! ;-)

  • A few times? That's very dedicated of you! Yeah, it's probably 90% optical illusion, but that doesn't quite explain it all. I say it's giant magnets ;^)

  • Cool vid!

Re: Mystery Spot....Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA...used to have the same sort of illusions in an old house located their old western town section. It was a real crowd draw...and, of course, it

was removed and replaced by some new-fangled

attraction. Ah, the days of yore!

    Love,

    mom4education

  • Oh, sure, but the Knott's Berry Farm one was just a theme park illusion, this one is REAL ;^)

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • I was there like 25 years ago... It has changed some what, but not much.

  • Probably hasn't changed much in about 60 years, other than sliding a little but further down the hillside, and paving the walkway up to it to avoid lawsuits. But then, why mess with mysterious perfection? ;^)

  • I can't believe you did this! I was just reading about this place. You don't think that's incredible??? Is it a trick? Is it obvious when you're there?

Now I really want to go. Unless you tell me the trick.

  • Some of it is just optical illusion, but there's also something odd going on. Possibly from a magnetic field coming from the minerals under the hill. It's nothing too alien or other-worldly, but it is a bit of fun. Thanks!

  • How does a magnetic field explain the level on the board thing? The level is just liquid...it sure looked like the board was level...I mean the one that the guide used to show how the height of his eyes changed relative to others.

  • what, youre saying that liquid isnt normally AFFECTED by gravity?

  • No, if you read Ken's response you will see that I'm referring to a magnetic field. And, yes, I'm saying that normally a magnetic field doesn't affect liquid in that way.

  • weird! thanks for sharing!

am gonna have to see that next time i go to cali

  • It's better than Disneyland! Thanks for stopping by.

  • "As seen in Life"...could there be a more solid recommendation? What a mysterious spot!

  • Well, they're still hoping for a spread in the Saturday Evening Post. It's a mystery why it hasn't happened yet!

  • Well, I, for one, am sufficiently mystified! What an odd little video! Good job, Kenrg.

  • I'm glad that we were able to mystify you. It was an odd afternoon.

  • That's some reckless driving, I have to say.

And were all these people drinking a LOT of coffee before the tour?

Ps. I gave up standing straight years ago.

  • Coffee? I don't know, but it's already been suggested that they were drinking something... We may never know... it a MYSTERY!!!!!

  • Now that place looks like it would be a REAL trip after a few cocktails!...hehe Just kidding...I'd love to go there. Looked like a lot of fun. Good stuff, Ken!

  • Cocktails...? I was dizzy enough just with the lack of traditional gravity. Or maybe that was because of those mushrooms we picked while waiting for the tour.. ;^)

  • hehhe...see, now the truth comes out!...ehehe *wink* Thank you for introducing us to citizenstand. I'm loving his videos.

  • This is way cool Ken...thanks for taking us on this Magical Mystery Spot adventure :) I'm a total nut for things that "make you go hmmmmmm" xox

  • Or in this case, "Hmmmmm... they get five bucks for that?" I've lived in the area for nearly twenty years, and it was my first visit there. Ira's lived here his whole life, and it was his second. But sometimes you just have to be a tourist in your own backyard. Silly, but fun.

  • lol what is that?il need to check out the links in the desc.

  • It's more amazing in person. But not much. I thought about not posting it, but, of course, I couldn't let footage go to waste ;^)
