  • Gandalf's subsequent job wasn't as glamorous as his previous job was in the war of the one ring.

  • a custodian at my elementary school looked just like the bridgekeeper - he was the nicest man - but after this, i was scared of him for 2 years - haha funny how 2 min of goofy SS can weird you out as a kid

  • classic!

  • lol does this remind anyone of Monty Python and the Holy Grail? lol the bridge scene? haha :)

  • As a kid you'd be learning something. As an adult or older kid you'd be laughing so hard.

    EAT THE PIZZA

  • lawl FAIL!

  • lawl OWNED!

  • Since this skit was either in the 1970s or the 1980s, and since there were no cell phones back then in the 1970s and 1980s, I guess the bridgekeeper must have quickly ran to a pay phone to call and order some groceries before a person could come to cross the bridge or there was a pay phone off screen near the bridge which he called from.

  • the ending is funny and i still get hungry everytime i see this clip

  • They showed these clips once in a great while during the ninties and the bridgekeeper used to scare me so much...

  • This is the original and those jerks from Monty Python stole it! Much like Gandalf, you shall not pass!!!!!

  • I wonder if the bridgekeeper guy wasn't inspired by the one from Monty Python and the Holy Grail...

  • LOL! I love the twist at the end. :D

  • One thing worth noting how the Bridgekeeper is only holding one cookie, yet he refers to them in a plural sense.

  • Yes because he is speaking about cookies as a whole, not just the one he's holding.

  • Actually, you can use the the plural sense of Cookies as he didn't use a reference to singular before it such as "one" cookies which would be incorrect. He is using the term "Cookies" to describe all Cookies in general. Just as if he was holding one duck and was describing it's feathers "Ducks have multi-colored feathers" is proper - just as "This duck has multi-colored feathers" is also proper. "Duck has multi-colored feathers" is not proper. See?

    Yes I'm Bored Today

  • Everytime I watch this skit, that cookie, pizza, and watermelon makes me hungry.

  • pwned!

  • this one makes me HUNGRY

  • If that man was a delivery man, I thought probably he should be wearing a store/delivery uniform with the name of the delivery place that he works instead of just wearing street clothes. With the man just wearing street clothes, it looks like he is just some stranger who just ran to the store to buy groceries and then it looks like he needed to cross the bridge to get back home. Maybe if the man wore a delivery uniform, the bridgekeeper would've known which person is delivering his groceries.

  • Notice he ate the rind of the watermelon too!

  • I know this might sound strange for me to say but, if that man was a deliverer working for a food company who was delivering groceries to the bridgekeeper, I thought maybe he should be wearing a special uniform with the name of the store he works for on his shirt with his shirt also saying "Delivery Man." All the man looks like is that he is just some stranger wearing regular street clothes who ran an errand to go to the store to buy groceries for his house and was heading home.

  • Was the gatekeeper a retired wizard? LOL

  • It's very wrrrong to throw food away;

Thought you could sneak it by me, huh?

There are even little circles inside the big circle.

    It's a circle isn't it?.....You know what to do.

    Very humorous.

  • My favorite animations were the bridgekeeper!

  • I soooo miss C.S.S.

  • sounds nothing like robert stack

  • LOL I love the end of this... He was delivering his groceries.. Priceless old time kid humor.. never gets old.

  • Yes, I loved it too. I just thought that it looked a little strange that the bridgekeeper didn't know or remember the food he ordered (the cookie, the pizza, and the watermelon) that he made that food delivery man eat his stuff that he ordered. As soon as the bridekeeper told him to open the bag to see if there are any circles, the food delivery man at 0:35 should've said "it's your groceries that you ordered which I'm delivering to you", instead of just saying, "it's just groceries."

  • I loved it too. I thought that it looked and sounded a little strange that the bridgekeeper didn't remember that he ordered groceries and what kind of groceries he ordered when he pulled out the cookie and the pizza out of the bag (if the bridgekeeper also ordered the watermelon slice, I wonder why the delivery man had it). At 0:35, the delivery man should've said "I'm a deliverer, and I'm delivering your groceries to you that you ordered" instead of just saying, "it's just groceries."

  • Yes, I loved it too. I thought that it looked and sounded strange that the bridgekeeper didn't remember that he ordered groceries and what kind of groceries he ordered. I thought that as soon as he took the cookie and the pizza out of the bag he would probably know that, that was what he ordered (I wasn't sure why the watermelon slice wasn't in the bag). At 0:35, the delivery man should've said "I'm a delivery man, and it's your groceries that I'm delivering to you."

  • Yes that was great. I thought that it looked a little surprising that the bridgekeeper didn't remember the food that he ordered. At 0:35, the delivery man should've said "I'm a delivery man and it's your groceries in the bag that you ordered" instead of just saying "it's just groceries."

  • WHAT, is your favorite color?

  • Purple! :D

  • WHAT is your name?

  • Bridgekeeper fail

  • 3 bites to eat the pizza, and eats the peel of the watermelon. I LOVE THESE ONES!!

  • I always wondered why those things-like the pizza-wasn't in a box(yea,at the tender age of 4 i wondered that.lol) hahaha,man,I remember looking at this.good stuff and times.That man was obsessed!lol.I miss Classic S.S.

  • The size of the delivery man's gut makes me think he's crossed this bridge before.

  • LOL A+

  • This is very funny. :)

  • The Bridgekeeper should still tip the delivery guy.

  • EAT THE PIZZA

I remember this from way back. Great stuff.

  • Talk about a jolt to the memory, I had almost completely forgotten about these bridgekeeper skits. *LOL* But I liked 'em back in the Day, Thanks for putting 'em on YouTube!

  • i vividly remember that pizza... i wonder why it sticks out so...

  • ya same here!!

  • Cause it PIZZA! and who doesn't LOVE a good pizza pie!

  • That will teach the bridgekeeper to jump to conclutions! :)

  • Sesame Street before they became obsessed with curbing childhood obesity

  • No kidding.

  • I've been wandering aimlessly through life, until I watched this video. Now, my calling is clear - I must become a bridgekeeper! I only need to locate that snappy uniform and a long stick.

  • This is awesome!! I miss seeing this clip!

  • Dude...it's totally from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! "It's wrrrrong to waste food." lol

  • Wow..haven't seen this in like 15-20years

  • he looks like gandalf

  • Thank you so much for posting this, it's wonderful.

  • Why is Gandalf so angry? LOLZ

  • I came here to deliever YOUR groseries!

    EPIC win.

  • LMFAO! EAT EM!!!! LOL

  • LOL!!!

  • Oh my gosh!!! What memories!! I wish they had these vintage sesame streets on dvd so someday when I have kids they could watch these. This actually made learning fun!! TV shows for kids now are so stupid!!

  • My God I haven't seen this in YEEEAAAARSSSS

  • aha! u thought u'd sneak it by me eh? hahahaha

  • the fat guy was probably more than pleased to eat all those things :-)

  • Captain obvious saves the day again!

  • im hungry now after watching this lol

  • drugs...

just watching sesame street makes me feel high.

  • Hey! Get your grubby paws off my cookie!

  • This one made me uncomfortable when I was a kid. The animation didn't seem to fit with the rest of the show.

  • ...YES, I AM THE BRIDGE KEEPUH!!...BAM!!!! i woulda been runnin right there...

  • Someone was a D&D fan back in the day.

  • lmao! So much greatness in this video!

Clearly, the bridge is on the way to somewhere important, like Stormwind or Ironforge.

  • That guy puts away a pizza like a machine!

  • Wahaha, RAW pizza.

(not user - someone else lol.)

  • What's the significance of the thunderclap in each of these? I never got it during my childhood and still don't. I think they shouldn't put spooky sounds like that in a kids show.

  • I think it's to show that the bridgekeeper is an important person and they do that to make his presence known and something like thunder shows power but yes they could use something less scary for kids

  • It's because he's soo ultra cool!

    (Not user, someone else aheh..)

  • sounds nothing like robert stack.

  • The people behind Sesame Street definitely took a page out of Monty Python to these skits.

  • Can you imagine-- just coming home from the grocery store, and there's this GUY dressed as a wizard or something, standing on your front stoop, demanding that you EAT YOUR CIRCLES!

    "YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!"

  • I'd be scared out of my wits.

  • man no wonder the guy was chubby.

    "eat the pizza!!" LOL

  • And his stomach looked like a circle too.

  • All of the Bridgekeeper videos are a good way to teach children the shapes. But wait a minute! What is on the other side of the bridge anyway???

  • That is something I have been trying to figure out for 20 years lol...

maybe it leads past his place or leads to the other side of the mountains who knows. Theories?

  • The Castle AAAAAAAAGH....lol...and a bunch of French with outrrrrrageous accents you silly king!

  • "It's a circle isn't it??!!!!...You know what to do!!!!" hahahaha

  • I wish they had made more of these. Rectangle, Oval, Pentagon, etc, these were awesome!!

  • EAT the PIZZA!!!!!!!!!

  • "Wrong to throw food away", this guy would faint if he ever set foot in a high school or college cafeteria.

  • Whenever I hear about the importance of not wasting food, I can't help but laugh because in my head I always hear "...and it is very WRRRROOONNNNG to throw FOOD away."

  • Must you sneak it by me, huh?

  • of all the food to keep in his pocket its the watermellon slice -okay! lol

  • Wow, I think the bridgekeeper went a little senile there for awhile.

  • Who does the bridge keepers voice?

  • OMG I haven't seen this in years. This is so cool.

  • haha this is good!

    -cat

  • Are there geometric sanctions on the land on the other side of the bridge? Why no circles?

  • I loved those skits when I was little.

  • Hahahahahaaah!! *roffle*

    I love that punchline!!

  • I love the bridge keeper's expression after he realises those are his groceries. LOL!

  • It's a circle isn't it!? LMAO!!! I always liked this cartoon. Very Monty Pythonesque.

  • HAHAHA!

  • LMAO!!!!

  • LOL !!!

  • The whole cartoon is pretty funny. Of course when I was 4 it went over my head.

  • "A pizza! Thought you could sneak it by me, eh?"

    "You know what to do"

    I love the bridge keeper.

  • WHY, there are even little circles INSIDE the BIG circle!

  • Woo! I never thought I would see this scene again in my life!!! LOL! So funny at the end!

  • dayam i have not seen this in 28 years geeez

  • Favorited.

  • LOL... "eat... the pizza!"

  • Ha! I used to love this one :)

  • The bridgekeeper was very lucky and stupid. Lucky because he had a very yummy shopping list, stupid because he forgets it and the other guy ends up eating it all up lol!

  • EAT! The pizza!

  • The Bridgekeeper used to frigthten me when I was small :(

  • WHAT is your name?

    WHAT is your quest?

WHAT is your favorite edible circle??? >:D

  • Wow! I forgot about this!

  • For a "wise" Bridgekeeper, he doesn't make very smart dietary choices, lol.

  • except for the watermelon ;-)

  • The bridekeeper is a bit forgetfull isn't he? He didn't even remmeber any of the items as items that were on his shopping list. LOL

  • I love the bridgekeeper's face at the end!

  • I did too. I think he also made the same face at the end of the skit where he was talking about a square.

  • I remember this one. Imitated this on playgrounds.

  • Anybody got the circles rap song?

  • Oh my god. I had dreams like these for years and I couldn't remember where they came from. Kudos for uploading this.

  • I think you're thinking of "It's a Miserable Life" from December of '95.

  • "It's very wrong to throw food away." Advice I stick to even today.

  • I think of the Bridge Keeper in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

  • I don't know why but these cartoons remind me of Beavis and Butthead.
