There really isn't hardly any difference in weight between a 1 ton and a 3/4 ton, as long as they are both setup the same. Just means the springs are a little heavier, and thats about it!

If someone cuts you off and you need to turn hard, you're screwed, you will lose your steering traction for an emergency.

Same idea, just opposite end of the truck.

I would consider a rear axle upgrade and some weight in the front. Get some tractor weights and attach them in the engine bay to give you more front-end weight and you should be fine. Other than that, you have a decent chance of the frame braking with such a large bending load on the truck.
When the F250 is having problems that is when you bring in the big 350. My friends and I have a tree removel business nothing big. But we have three trucks. We named them all Twigs Stumps and Trunks. Twigs is just a ford ranger. Than Stumps is a F250 and same model as you have here. Than we have Stumps a F-350 B128. She doesn't get out to play that much but when we get a job to big for Stumps we let Trunks out to play.
If you'd haul the Ford off to the jnkyard where it belongs and buy yourself a hard working Chevrolet you wouldn't have the wheel bow problem. Not to mention the tailgate probably wouldn't be laying on the ground. Those dodges aren't that heavy, your truck is just inferior.

The difference between the Rear end of a 3/4 and a 1 ton is ... Leaf springs AND OR tires.. if its a dully its gonna weigh more :P anyway.. Aside from that a half ton can have 10 bolt - 12 bolt rear end and 3/4 ton - 1 ton has 14 bolt rear end.. I have a beefed up 3/4 ton chevy. 9 leafs in the back on each side. They are THINNER leafs then a 1 ton tho.
uh, just FYI, a 3,500 weighs probably no more than 20lbs more than a 2,500. the only difference is the leaf springs in the back, and usually a different geared rear axle.
RR, Invest in a counter weight for the front end. Might want to think about some airbags for the rear as well. There is no reason that a Ram 3/4 ton should squat you like that. Lifting from the rear it is the same weight as any pick-up give or take 100 lbs. I'm amazed the weigh master hasn't caught up with you for that yet. Here in Mich they would hand you a hefty fine for that.

This is a stealth repo truck as its not unheard of for people running away from a repossession to bug out of a area if they see a tow truck in the area.
That said this guy needs a bigger truck or at least something with air bags or duallys.
To repo you need at least a 3/4 ton and a hideaway wheel lift, not an in the bed lift. It gives you more room behind your truck, you don't have to let down the tailgate and it stay hidden under the bed pretty well. You can get it with self loading forks too and inside controls, no need to even get out of the truck. A 1 ton would do even better, but a half ton is just too light. You don't need a dually, but you need more GVW than you will be picking up. Yes, I've towed and done repo.
@zeusterrooster it are a nice suspension and it keeps the traction to both wheels better then an axle but it is really hard on tires and if they break your in trouble i think they got like 7 or 8 cv joints

i dunno.. now that i think about it.. all that weight is extended out pretty far so ... just because the back of the truck may only 2,000 pounds.. the weight on the truck is greater... anyway.. still need to beef it up =[

so... take your damn truck to the shop and get like 4 fuckin leafs added to each side or something cause jesus christ man that thing is TOTALY over weighted.. i know it can tow it but she aint handling the weight at all.. You need to beef the back suspention.. beef up the weight on the front of the truck.. and i would make sure your frame is in good condition also.
not saying mine would do better.... but pains me to see a truck lookin like that

The difference between the Rear end of a 3/4 and a 1 ton is ... Leaf springs AND OR tires.. if its a dully its gonna weigh more :P anyway.. Aside from that a half ton can have 10 bolt - 12 bolt rear end and 3/4 ton - 1 ton has 14 bolt rear end.. I have a beefed up 3/4 ton chevy. 9 leafs in the back on each side. They are THINNER leafs then a 1 ton tho.

uh, just FYI, a 3,500 weighs probably no more than 20lbs more than a 2,500. the only difference is the leaf springs in the back, and usually a different geared rear axle.

RR, Invest in a counter weight for the front end. Might want to think about some airbags for the rear as well. There is no reason that a Ram 3/4 ton should squat you like that. Lifting from the rear it is the same weight as any pick-up give or take 100 lbs. I'm amazed the weigh master hasn't caught up with you for that yet. Here in Mich they would hand you a hefty fine for that.

To repo you need at least a 3/4 ton and a hideaway wheel lift, not an in the bed lift. It gives you more room behind your truck, you don't have to let down the tailgate and it stay hidden under the bed pretty well. You can get it with self loading forks too and inside controls, no need to even get out of the truck. A 1 ton would do even better, but a half ton is just too light. You don't need a dually, but you need more GVW than you will be picking up. Yes, I've towed and done repo.

@thedisman Under You Tube , look up Trailer moving 101 ,and you will see a early 90s chevy half ton truck pull a 14 by 50 mobile home , that weighs about 13,000 lbs. So how is Repo Ritchs F350 going to get f*&^%d up towing your 6,000lb truck.He will just pick up your rear,on your truck ,and tow it with NO problems trust me!!!

Wow. Where to start. haha a 1 ton truck just means a heavier duty rear spring pack. Next, this dude needs some air bags at least in the back. And a solid axle in the front would "Stop being so scary". That IFS twin I beam shit sucks. Next, Using the E brake to stop? Jesus man! Re adjust your brakes! You should have heavy duty brakes if its a 3/4 ton truck towing ANYTHING! My 2 year old nephew wouldnt drive that setup, cuz even HE knows better than that!
