Would be interesting to see this debate reargued today. Interesting that the Burns /Pollack team was not asked about the failure of extensive European negotiations. What could America have contributed to that process to turn it
around? And what could American diplomacy now offer that the Europeans didn't?
Are we to believe European efforts failed because Iran wanted American participation? Do we believe Russia and China will ever seriously back sanctions?
