  • Do Paramedics not exist? Thanks for forgetting us again...

  • @nomadiccanadian yah it seems we're just part of the firefighters ;)

  • @DaveCarrollMusic Awesome song

  • i love this vido

  • I've been a firefighter for thirty years and have friends that are firefighters from all over the world. They are all my Brothers & Sisters in uniform. All flags, all races, all bloods. Those of us who are called firefighters fight under the banner of the cross ! Firefighters understand what I'm talking about.

  • Who cares if you favor a country, show your flag and be proud. Canadian, American, Mexican: we are all brothers and sisters when were out there on the truck no matter who we are or where were from.

  • You should do one about the volunteer firefighters and first responders.

  • Just beautiful. I don't know how you keep doing it.

  • Whoever disliked this video DO NOT KNOW what Emergency responders go through a lot of people i know are Emergency responders.

  • Where are the paramedic n emt tribute?? Whackk

  • I live next to a fire station, always think of "Siren's scream hope is on the way" when they leave. I am becoming a Military Police officer for the United States of America in 5 months.. Hooah as we say in the Army thank you David for this song

  • awsome video and song god bless rescue hero's of the world

  • I believe there should be more videos like this

  • *sitting in not sittin un

  • I drove past the aftermath of a very, very severe car accident today. While sittin un traffic watching several fire engines, ambulances, and police cruisers rushing to the scene. This song was the first thing I thought of.

  • There are Canadian flags on uniforms through out the video. Who cares. Nothing wrong with pride in your country and we in the US are proud to call Canada our neighbor. Good music!

  • This video still amazing even after all the times I've watched/listened. As I posted on FB (S.D. Jan. 9/12) I hope to be able to get to your concert here in SJ @ the Imperial Theatre on Feb. 10. Thank you for writing this song for the 'Earth Angels'/First responders. They don't get enough recognition for all they do, and being there for those who need them in their time of need (so they aren't alone). Just to be able to hear/see you do this song, will be enough for me!! Thank you Dave!!

  • @CanadianMs50 Thanks for being so kind. Hope you can make it to the show at Imperial Theatre.

  • Thank you for making a song that describes who I am. Im a proud volunteer firefighter official since 2007 but been around the field since I was born. I'm proud to say that my dad has been one for 27 years and is still active and my mom used to be active.

  • @ghostlylighthouses thank you very much

  • I agree, the Canadian Flags on the gear should have been shown. How often do you see an American flag covered? They are proud of who they are, as should we be proud of who we are!

  • @trainboy1979 Just so you know, flags were covered to keep focus on First Responders and not favour one country or another. That being said they are evident on the uniforms in the kitchen and the Halifax logos are intact on the engine. Cheers!

  • I've never commented on anything on you tube before but I couldn't agree more - show that Canadian flag and be proud! Canadian song writer, Canadian song, Canadian emergency response crews. No American produced anything is going to cover up their flag thats for sure! Infact they would probably put extra ones in their just so we know that they are American. Anyways great song there Dave.

  • @brittanydsigsworth Thanks for the feedback Brittany. Just so you know, flags were covered to keep focus on First Responders and not favour one country or another. That being said they are evident on the uniforms in the kitchen and the Halifax logos are intact on the engine. Cheers!

  • High I am a Halifax Firefighter and we a proud.

  • are there the lyrics of this great song anywhere in the internet? im not a native english speaker would be great to read them once ;)

  • I love this song so much! Everytime I see any type of emergency vehicle go racing towards an emergency, it reminds me of this song and I start singing "Cause they made a promise and here they come someone hurting called 9-1-1".

  • In love with this song! The country radio station here in NJ uses the chorus as an advertisement for a Thank a Hero type program they're doing. I've heard it a bunch of times and never realized there was a full song. it is BEAUTIFUL!!! a great thanks to our everyday heroes.

  • im a rely sad fire fighter :(

  • A M A Z I N G

  • @novembercold08 they may not have been highlighted in the video, but there was an ems vehicle in the background of the police scene.. Get over yourself that you would be insulted.. Selfish..

  • Wow.. @mrtaydogg you clearly know nothing about music.. Subject matter aside, its a fantastic song.. I can't believe 7 people didn't

  • Great song!!...I will never forget!!..God bless the USA!!

  • im not gonna like the song just because of its message. musically its terrible and the guy is a bad singer

  • A job as a firefighter is not about all the trucks and lights it is about saving others and saving there homes that what it is all about i am going to be a fire explorer in California i am 15 by the end of this program i will eventually become a firefighter because that program goes to 15-21 then i can become a real firefighter and i will keep that job as a career because i like to help people sop i hop you become a firefighter and help those in need just like i will.

  • @MadMike766 Well, good luck, im 20 and a firefighter in Connecticut, its hard training, but its worth it.

  • where can i download this?

  • @JBLandscaping11 Hey there, the MP3 can be purchased on my website davecarrollmusic . com or on iTunes.

  • @DaveCarrollMusic Be great if you could do a british version with 999 :) amazing song

  • OMG This is the best video and song I ever found!!! I am a fire explorer, and my sister is trying to become a cop!!:) and I know a lot of cops and I know a lot of firefighters....Men and Women, it is not about being male or female it is who can do the job!!:) but like I said I love it!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful i love it

  • this song i awsome man it means alot to police and fire fighters everyt where.

  • I had tears in my eyes at this. Thank you, Dave!

  • Hello again. I am a firefighter at Station 56 for Halifax Nova Scotia. The units pictured above are Station 10, University Street. We are very proud of our country and are proud of our brothers a sisters all over the world. We work and help each other Police, Fire and EMS, We are part of Emergency Services inNova Scotia. The flags represent our country and don't get me wrong we love our country but we also love are brothers and sisters all over the world. We especially love our citizens.

  • @deltasafety2011

station 10 university street??? haha theres no such thing as station 10 university street with halifax fire dept.. its actually house 13 on king street..

  • I might only be a junior member at my fire house but i really appreciate the song for all the firefighters, paramedics/emts, and police officers weather they are volunteer or paid.

  • Very insulted that paramedics were not included...good video though.

  • love this song

  • Hi I am a Halifax, Nova Scotia Firefighter and we are very proud of our Province and country. Canada is the greatest country in the world. I would give my life for her and any Canadian citizen just like the song says "Someone hurtin called 911" We made a promise and be sure we wil come

  • good song

  • Sorry for the rant, it's just as a Paramedic of 24 years, it's a sensitive point after many years of news agency recounts of how the Police controlled & investigate the incident, Fire Dept worked to remove all the victims. Everyone in stable condition in hospital.

Who triaged/accessed everyone on scene, crawled into the mangled object that was once a car, kept the victims alive while the metal & glass is cut from around them, gave advanced care @ 120 Km/Hr to the hospital?

    EMS, that's who!!!

  • Love the song and video great idea...but, why does nobody ever think about the Paramedics / EMS? I mean even if you couldn't feature a segment on Paramedics due to timing or lack of lyrics, it would have been nice if you had at least had medics responding/attending to the 2 injured emergency personnel (star of life shoulder flashs or epaulettes on the 2 in white tending to the officer would have identified them from Doctors or Nurses as I thought they were when I first viewed the video).

  • hmm.... try again... We're boosted by our best friend, Canada, always. So 911 doesn't matter, the heroism does. And Gunnside, agreed, prayers for those in Oslo.

  • Love the video, and for what it's worth, I think the US needs a boost from our Canada. Not that I slanted towards Canada for some reason! :)

    Thanks Dave Carroll!

  • A warm thought goes out to my friends and colleauges in the health care services in Oslo.. A terrible day

  • Loved the song and how meaningful it really is! Question though, why is it that the Canadian flag patches on the FFs arms at 3:58 to 4:04 are partially covered up? Can we not be proud of our own country?

  • @JNHstudios Hey there, thank you for the kind feedback on the song. Just so you know, flags were covered to keep focus on First Responders and not favour one country or another. That being said they are evident on the uniforms in the kitchen and the Halifax logos are intact on the engine. Cheers!

  • awesome song..just 1 little thing...what about paramedicts? still though...AWESOME song! :D

  • one of my friends showed me this song............ i cant stop thinking bout it. its beautiful...........

  • were not heroes but we were all put on this earth for one reason to help others protect property and save lifes the heroes are the ones who dont make it back to the station

  • @HauntedLighthouses "someone 'hurd' and called 9-11" sorry i was in the vid and just know i the lyrics {:

  • Do you want to know what's so terrible about this song and video? It hasn't been given the recognition that it deserves.Perhaps it is because Dave is an "Independent" singer(no label),but I have NOT seen this song/video nominated for any Canadian music awards(any field).Does an individual or group have to belong to a major label,to be recognized in this country?

  • I am a firefighter in Halifax Nova Scotia where this video is filmed with station 2 on University Street and let me tell you it brings tears to my eyes because myself and so many other woulkd die to save you all and let me tell you Firefighters , Police . Paramedics all would give their lives for you there is an expression we use a lot "SO THERS MAY LIVE". Thats are motto. and I pron=mise you call we will come "GOD BLESS"

  • @deltasafety2011 Amen brother Amen im a volunteeer firefighter in the USA and i love it and i plan to stay a firefighter till i die and to all the brothers and sisters out there stay safe and god bless you all

  • So appropriate during our Florida and Arizona brush fires

  • Every time me and my captain ride out to a fire call to fight the fire I think about this song

  • to you 5 people just wait till you need to dail them 3 numbers you no 9-1-1 and then tell me if you dislike it when we are breaking down your door to save your ass from the burning house or when you are in a bad accident and we show up to pull you out of once waas your car see if you dislike us then. Volunteer fire fighter Indiana

  • I love this song and video. I am a dispatcher and this is such a gentle reminder to never get complacent in your job because you just never know....

  • What a beautiful song it reminded me of how dangerous how being a firman was R.I.P dad ♥♥♥

  • What exactly is there to dislike in this video? Some people will always find something to complain about.

  • @vollyHCFDStation1 the red helmets are captains yellow helmets are firefighters and juniors firefighters and white helmets are deputy chiefs and chiefs

  • i think this video puts why emergency service people and volunteer firefighters do what they do putting there life on the lines every single day

  • Dave, I used to have trouble explaining to loved one and friends why I am a fire fighter. Well you put ever thing into the right words. They watched this video and now understand. I have been a Volounteer Fire Fighter for close to 10 years and show no signs of stopping.

  • great video .!

  • Dave, from a 20 yr member of the law enforcement community I thank you for this video, it's so very touching and like it's been said already, this video is a constant reminder to me why I do this job.

  • If you're a firefighter, your mask and suit covers you. If you're a first responder or a paramedic, the family's attention is on their loved ones. If you are a policeman or a policeman, you'll likely be cursed or even spat upon as you pull them for speeding. As for a cop, they don't know about graduation night, when a car loaded with drunken teenagers careened into another car containing a family of four. Next morning, you were out putting up crosses. None hear the prayer, "Get home safe!"

  • this is great video im a volunteer ff at the old mystic fire department u feel happy about this song .

  • The whole time I watched this, I had a smile on my face. I just applied for Volunteer Firefighter. This is all that it is. Helping people.

  • I am a firefighter from Halifax Nova Scotia where this is filmed. If you look close at the video you will see the officer with the red hat.

  • can someone explain why the all have yellow helmets

are they all Lt.'s or is it a different color system?

  • Comment removed

  • @vollyHCFDStation1

This was filimed in Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), NS. HRM Fire uses the folllowing color scheme:

    Black - probationary

Yellow - Level 1 and level 2 trained FFs

    Red - Officers

    White - Chiefs

    Cheers,

  • Great work Dave. It this on doesn't hit home you have no heart.

  • im a voulunteer firefighter and i love it! i love helping people at times it can be stressful and hard to deal with fatalities when u looked them in the eye and told them everything is going to be ok but i still love it i apreciate this song!

  • I am enlisting in the US Coast Guard, I wanna do Maritime Enforcement Specialist (ME), they basically do Protecting America's Ports, Waterways, and Interests at home and abroad. Maritime Enforcement Specialists are trained in Maritime Law Enforcement, Anti-terrorism, Force Protection, and Physical Security. I hope I can do that and be a hero to some one

  • i have found the replay button quite a few times :)

  • I can only guess that the negative response came from some irate motorist made to pay a fine for speeding. Have you seen the occasional cross along the roadside? Maybe it was drunk driver. Maybe it was someone who was speeding. But every time a cop stops a car and asks for driver's license, etc he or she is exposing themselves to danger, so that you might return home safely. Not anyone who answers to 911, but an admirer of those who do, and a man whose Taylor guitar was broken at O'Hare!

  • to all the fire department in the world and the police force and the first responders i really like to send out my appreciate to all of you'se and my respect thanks for everything you guys and gals do on a daily bases

  • @AuntieE28 proud to serve

  • thank you for singing this at my school yesterday, it was amazing.

  • Ohh my gosh I swear this is not a joke but I played the little girl in this video and I would just like to say it was such an honour to be working with...Dave, Lara , Amber and all the rest of the cast and crew. If you don't belive me I'm the one who was in the mast head news for this i'm celina

  • Ohh my gosh I swear this is not a joke but I played the little girl in this video and I would just like to say it was such an honour to be working with...Dave, Lara , Amber and all the rest of the cast and crew

  • This video was great

I made a montage as a tribute to the National Guard. You guys should watch it.

  • OK, Who took the tissues? Seriously - much needed salutes to our heroes!

  • this is amzing

  • Great song.

The sirens song of "help is here" can be so sweet.

    Best of Christmas all.

  • nice to see some local settings in a professional music video

  • I am in training to be a paramedic. im in my 12months of trainin. I wanted to become a paramedic after 9/11 and all the times my dumbass self got hurt. I work in a core. but i dont get paid. i dont need pay, just to hear a thank you and that i can help save someone is all the pay i need. Im from New york myself and i almsot lost my dad that day. RIP all the falled service member, paramedics , tech (EMTS) and anyone who lost their life that day

  • Wow.....thank you so much for the wonderful and tribute....been a Firefighter for just three years, and words cant even be said how nice it is to hear this kind of stuff......so again just a very big thank you, as a volunteer, this is the kind of stuff I call my payment, its the "thank you" like this and the smiles on folks faces knowing we made their lives for a brief second good......thanks again sir.

  • great song!!! :D

  • Great song but then Dave and Sons of Maxwell do a super great job on all of their songs. Merry Christmas to their families and I hope they have a great New Year. Congratulations on your recent award!!!

  • this videos awesome and so true

  • @snubsabbott The paramedics are in the police scene and including in the bridge of the song along with all other First Responders. This video even includes Dispatch, who are largely overlooked and not given the appreciation they so too deserve.

  • Great song Dave, but where are the Paramedics?

  • Just heard about this video on Breakfast Television. I remember one christmas having to call 911 when my father fell down the stairs. It was the scariest moment in my life hearing screams from my siblings and my mom and hearing them screaming he's got no pulse. Yet it was the most amazing moment when I heard those sirens and I knew help was on the way. Thank you for all you do for us, risking your lives to save others. You don't get paid enough, and for some, you don't get paid at all.

  • @queenofmasks ......friend.....your right some of us dont get paid at all....BUT some of us do get paid, our payment is the smiles on those faces we help, and the thank you.....just like the one you posted about how thankful you were that your Dad was helped.....thank you for sharing.....some are in this line for the glory, Im not, Im in like many other brothers who want to help those in their time of need, and again payment isnt money but those that appreciate what we do.

  • @stvoyager thanks brother. just working on getting onto the vollenteer department in my town. your right. its not about the glory, its about the people you see saved.

  • @handlines249 now is where i get mad. have of fucking ever been a first responder? the day you call those three small numbers you will realize that these people need more "shameless self promotion" that this.

  • THis is good i enjoy the song and video but some things are out of place. But hey... it makes the song

  • @handlines249 Did you even watch this video? Go troll somewhere else. How in the world could a video honouring First Responders possibly be about shameless self promotion? I for one enjoy his videos and I think they have a lot of meaning and relevance.

  • just for the record, if you go to his website, you can read about this song and you can also read his statement about people making comments about not including paramedics. And in fact he does, not in the verse, but in the chorus and bridge. If he were to include a 3rd verse dedicated to paramedics, the song would have been close to 7 mins...way to long for a song. Go check it out...it will explain everything.

I think this song is absolutely fantastic!! Well done Dave!

  • really, someone doesnt like this song? they must think they will never have to dial 3 #s

  • EVEYONE PLEASE STOP THIS NEGITIVE ABOUT EMS/EMTS SERIOSULY U GUYS NEED TO STOP IT SINCE MY BOYFRIEND DOES IT REALLY SO STFU NOW PLEASE THEY GET THERE WHEN THEY CAN N SAFELY SO KNOCK IT OFF.

  • @karenacomeau I dont think he was implying that at all, What he was getting at is that Fire Fighters and Police officers put their lifes in harms way to protect these people, Paramedics rarely are put in a life threataning situation such as rushing into a burning building or attempting to subdue a gunman, Paramedics are called after it is all said and done, Yes they provide a vital service and if they wouldnt people would die. However I feel he made this video to try and point out ... continued

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @karenacomeau continued... he made the video to show that Fire Fighters and Police officers would gladly give their lifes without thinking for that of another human being, If paramedics want thought of as brave and selfless they need to find a new profession, Yes they save lifes, But since when have you seen a paramedic get into a fire fight with a gunman or run into a burning building to conduct a search.

  • @astanford09 - well all I was implying was that as 911 Emergency responders we play a role as Paramedics; sure maybe we don't run into burning buildings or wrestle armed gunmen...but our lives are at risk everyday responding to people's emergencies...that's all. I have nothing but the utmost respect and love for Police & Fire :) It woulda been nice to see all Emergency responders in the video is all; Police, fire & EMS...but this is just my opinion.

  • @karenacomeau I meant no offense to Paramedics, I know they would gladly give their life's to save that of another, I was simply implying that I believe he made this video to show those whom everyday go into the face of danger. I have alot of respect for paramedics, without paramedics/emt's people would die everyday. I know from experience how bad it hurts to lose someone lost my mother because of poor response times due to lack of crews on duty because of budget cuts.

  • @karenacomeau I mean you know its bad when it takes 10 minutes for the first fire company to arrive, and 20 minutes for the ambulance to show up on scene, And this was in a town of 8,000 people w/ the EMS and Fire depts less than 1 mile away. The police were the first ones on scene to help my mother and that still took 6 minutes. Even then it took another 3 for one with a Defib unit to arrive. By then it had already been 13 minutes since I had found her, At the time i was not trained in CPR.

  • @astanford09 ppl think that any emergency vehicle can speed but they can't they have to follow the speed limits to and in a town or city where there is more traffic it will take longer

  • Absolutely excellent!

  • Dave: Very nice interview the other night on "Live At 5" here in the Maritimes!! Nice to see that the # of viewers to this great song/video is climbing, so all you viewers out there pass it on to your friends, family, co-workers, etc...Wishing you many more great years of songs/videos with far reaching messages. Keep up the great work Dave.

  • i'm currently taking police foundations to become a police officer and this song really rings a bell with me. being the daughter of a police officer i know what can happen. those who enter into the emergency services sector aren't concerned with what might happen to them, they're more concerned with who they are trying to help and they don't care about the circumstances. at the end of the day, it's about knowing you made a difference in someone's life and that means more than glory

  • The Tema Conter Memorial Trust is a foundation dedicated to helping emergency workers recover from Critical Incident Stress (which includes, among three other types of stress, post-traumatic stress). The founder's personal story was quite scary, and I wish there was employers cared more about helping the workers recover, and for emergency programs to teach about CIS.

Thank goodness there are people willing to do the job very few people want. God Bless them.

  • @MrTramac237 is is not spam it is on a website dedicated to emergency service workers called tema conter

  • this song is so true and this department is only an hours drive away from where i live and voulnteer with the fire department

  • This cheesey song had me welling up.

The Scottish government seems to think it's to financially expensive to recruit at the moment.

We will have to wait and see the human cost to be paid.

  • thank you for this..great job

  • Without fail every time I watch this, I lose it..

  • good song

  • my dad is a retired military firefighter. i love this song not only for him but for the brave men who worked along side him in the pitch dark of a burning ship or sub.

two years ago i my brother had to call 911 for me when i fell off the 2nd story balcony on our house. the sirens in the distance and all those responders were a wonderful sound and a very welcomer sight! God bless them all!

  • I've never had to personally use 911 here in Canada it was used on my behalf, n as result Fire (first responders in my city/Canada), Police, Ambulance responded, so I'm able to post. Yrs ago, I worked in Legal/Law field, n have a former co-worker in the law field now, and also have a former co-worker who lost her husband who was a fire fighter who lost his life in the field. Thank you for such a beautiful and heart warming song to the brave souls who put their lifes on the line ev
