  • didn't use the low B..=/

  • killer

  • Those aren't stock pickups are they?

  • @rgstandard1 Yes, they are stock.

  • Would you say the body of that guitar has some weight with it. Most Epiphones don't and I like heavy guitars, but I also like 7 string guitars.

  • @NOodleFISH72 Yes, it's quite a heavy guitar. So's my 6-string Epi, by the way. Heavier than a real Gibson. That's generally a sign of cheaper grade mahogany, but not necessarily bad for tone.

If you want a heavy guitar, try an Ibanez S7320 or S7420. My S7320 is really heavy, the heaviest guitar I have, despite the slim body. Combination of the heavy mahogany and the bulky tremolo system, I suppose.

  • Amazing playing - just blending perfectly with the background track. I listened to it without watching the video and I could not tell if it's youtube jamming or a CD playing on my stereo.

Do you play in a band? Do you have a myspace account with any original songs?

  • @mateinegriu Thanks. I'm not in a band currently. I can't post links in comments, but my Myspace page is listed on my profile page here. On my Myspace page you can also find a link to my SoundClick page, where there's over 100 recordings, both original songs and jams.

  • Awesome soulful playing and awesome guitar. Really want one of these! Was your backing track inspired by 'The Dark Discovery' by Evergrey by any chance? Reminds me quite a lot of some parts of that album!

  • @masterlowsferatu Thanks. I didn't make the backing track though. Check out the channel of alberthouwaart. He made the backing, and also uploaded a video of himself jamming on this track. You'd have to ask him what his inspiration was.

  • this is soo soothin melody, already in love with it)

  • I love my 7 string Les paul so much more than My Ibanez RG7123.

  • awesome

  • This reminded me much of Evergrey! Good playing and nice guitar!

  • Wow, that was amazing! :D

  • I actually just bought this same exact guitar off of Ebay. Have you noticed a problem getting to the high notes just due to bulk on the heel of the neck? I guess it's just something to get used to. Used to playing an Epiphone Goth Explorer for 6 years with a super fast neck to get to those high notes.

  • Well, I've been playing Les Pauls for about 13 years now, I think... so I didn't have any trouble adjusting to this one, feels pretty much the same as a 6-string.

  • Yes its bit clumsy...I got mine a month ago...I put some Di Marzio Evos in and ALL is forgiven...its PURE SONIC HEAVEN now. Its by a mile the best 7 I've ever played, with or without effects. This guitar/PUP combo will equal or shame the megabucks rigs for versatility......has superb build quality and the tone is sublime. If you can live without a trem you won't find a better partner than this baby....IF you can find one !!!

So long to floating trems and dare I say it....Ibanez !! SIMPLES !!

  • I felt in love with this guitar

    LES PAUL (L)

the best guitar in the world

  • I have the same guitar, but i have changed ma pickup's, i like the sound)

  • Great playing!! Who made the 7 string Les Paul your playing?? That's the first time I have seen anyone do that... Is it built to Les Paul specs? Maple top, Mahogany body and neck? Sweet looking and sounds great!!

  • Sorry, didn't see the info at the top... Epiphone. Cool... Your playing is really great, love the "feel" you put into your playing!!

  • Thanks!

And yea, it's a limited edition that Epiphone made in 2000. They also made a 7-string Flying V back then.

As far as I know, it's all Les Paul specs (maple top, Mahogany body and neck), the only difference being the extra string.

  • exellent!!

  • 3:28 through 3:35 was the best use of harmonics I've heard! Loved that part, keep it up man.

  • 7 string paul?!?!?!?! WOW

  • The backing track seems also great prog tune.

  • Yes, the backing was made by Albert Houwaart, aka Appie X.

This is a video response to his original video on this backing.

  • Dude! Another 7 string! That's a pretty cool guitar :-)

    Well played man, it rocks!

  • Hi, I am really interested in making an order for custom 7 string guitar. I am thinking about les paul look. Please, can you take a short movie, where we can see that instrument full size? Or maby, you can send me some pictures :) ?

  • Nice Les Paul ;) seen your NGD thread on sevestring ;) nice tune too !

  • Awesome!
