Honestly, I fucking hate all the modding going on. Every game I host now some prick-bag comes along and one shots the destroyer or Crawmerax. BUT if this is how fucking hard the rest of the game is going to be, then, oddly, I sort of get it. It's no longer enjoyable: just frustrating.
I have a level 69 Hunter with which I went through the same experience but not nearly as frustrating. Brick just seems unusable right now.
@Tonycaveman Well it's a learning experience. For spider ants you want to use the explosive artifact on your fists. For chemical lance, shock, bandits Fire, and regular lance fire/corrosive. you also need to find out a method that works with brick. I have uploaded a level 69 version of this video. Might wanna watch that one too.
@spunky117 Thanks for your reply. ended up resetting my skill points and spec as Blast Master. Within 2 minutes of doing so the game probably decided it had been too rough on me and allowed me to come across a bitchin' Blast Hammer, Blast Thanatos and Cobalt Blast Revolver (This from a pile of rubble, a locker and a vending machine).
The game is fun again, now. In my opinion, unless and until you hit the level cap then Melee Brick is a bitch to play efectively. I might come back to him later.
Hey man. Loved these guides and the other stuff you uploaded on your channel. I've been coming back to these as a basis for spec'ing my Brick and have had a blast so far.
That is, until I hit playthrough 2.5 last night.
I am now a level 54 Berserker/Tank Brick and I get raped by pretty much everything. Badasses are generally at level 57 and despite having decent gear and good knowledge of the game, I am powerless against them (SpiderAnt Badasses are all but fucking invincible).
Does the game seem 'repetitive' with Brick? I haven't played this game yet, but it seems that it would later get boring if I was just constantly using melee attacks with bare fists. I think they should put in different fist weapons; like gauntlets, spiked knuckles, brass knuckles, or clawed fist weapons, something like those. Just using regular fists seems somewhat boring for a RPG game. I don't mean to criticize this game, those are just my personal opinions.
@HolyVegeta To me, it doesn't get boring at all, and a respec at a New-U station is dangerously cheap anyway, so if you get tired of brawling, go blast master, and vice versa

@millionairejh No it doesn't, but it's damage is consistent and in some ways a lot more effective than weapons. Also durability is increased substantially compared to just using weapons as you have constant health regen, about 60-70% damage resistance, increased melee damage, and a boosted health regen, all on 1 kill

My first character is a 50 Soldier and I wanted to lvl one of each, second was brick, he's not 50 but I just hit playthrough 2, I decided i'd level him as a blaster/tank but seeing this video I'll have to look into brawler for the final few lvls.
i was wondering, is brick capable of handling 4 player difficulty solo? i.e. fighting (regarding this lvl 50 vid) in old haven while using the 4player difficulty hack (can be found in the siren's anarchy old haven run) that tricks the system into thinking that you are playing a game with 4 players on it therefore increasing its difficulty
ive seen the sirens ver and did it myself in knoxx and anarchy is just overpowered
but can brick do the same? o and this is not restricted to 50, 61 is ok too
@CodyJustGotPwned Helps close the gap between you and your enemy though, which is really useful, and you can get criticals but if you're on the consoles it's harder. I'm on PC so it's fairly easy for me
@spunky117 no its only harder if you not good with a controller, i'm not starting a console war, just saying for me fps games are easier on a controller, its like using a mouse that your thumb controls, i say this because when i play as brick i set the sensitivity to max so turning from one target to the next is fast and easy, almost like a mouse
@Anthony13USA Console's have aim assist, making it 10x easier to hit a target. I've been playing borderlands on the PS3 with no aim assist and it's fucking impossible to even shoot a weapon. Might be different on the xbox, but on the PS3, oh...my...god is it bad.
@spunky117 the aim assist isn't helpful at all, to me its annoying cause when their are a group of enemies moving its hard to keep the cross hair on a single target, its gotten me killed many times and its better without it, on the xbox, idk about the ps3 i only have and xbox and a cheap gaming pc, even with the settings on low the high frame rate i can play borderlands is like 15-25 fps
@Elgindabomb nah none for the soldier, and for level 60's it's even EASIER, just pour points into juggernaut and get 5/5 for an extra 50% damage reduction then max bash for ultimate sex! You'll have one point left over for anything really, I put mine into rapid reload for some rapid reload action
@TreehuggerSnr Yeah go to a new-u station, and go to your characters name page, at the very bottom it'll have "purchase reset", click that, and it'll cost you $10,000 at level 50 and $12,500 at level 61 I believe
why don't you prove bricks effectiveness? Make a video of you beating 7 kinds of shit out of the hardest bosses (Sledge, the destroyer,queen tarentella e.t.c) then I'll believe he can beat my siren in a fight
@Narutopivoteer the super mega bosses, I.E. Crawmerax, and the destroyer, need guns for it to be effective, But I can take on preetty much everyone else. And I would, but you don't want to see my take my level 61 and beat a level 48 sledge. BUT, I have beaten sledge with nothing but melee on my borderlands walkthrough. Check it out sometime. Also, Mercenary mod + double anarchy = gg anything.
i like your style brother.. it's good to see another brawler.. and get the secret army version as well plus the moxxi one and i can't remember but it's another 8 more skill point on top.. that should help you out on maxing juggernaut and bash.. plus lernt a big mistake in putting skill point into pay-back and unbreakable..
Lol well, Payback is useful if you have the extra points to spare for it I suppose. Which with Secret Armory and Moxxi, totalling 13 extra points! I threw 5 in payback, maxed out bash, and put 1 point into unbreakable because I had nowhere else to put it
just a quick question why did you go with pay-back and not unbreakable? i mean your elemental damage does enough by itself let alone needing any more of it.. just always thought unbreakable gives you the extra couple of seconds before your health starts to get touched.. ??
It does, but since i'm always berserking it doesn't work. Unbreakable does work while you're berserking so when you have my build it's completely useless
i guess in another point of view when your in close range and your shield is gone you would prefere the extra strength due to killing the enemies quicker and the quicker you kill them the more health you get.. (plus the quicker you kill them the quicker heavy handed and jugg work) i feels like an idiot now..

@druglord187 Yeah cooldown is 60 seconds, with 5/5 short fuse it's 30 seconds, BUT my skirmisher mod has +4 short fuse, so it stacks and makes it around 6 seconds of cooldown time.

@druglord187 I honestly, and this is me, would rather have a bit more shield for the enemy to go through so I can get to him and have more survivability, then get to him with no shield, 1/4 of my health, than a 40% damage increase :D. But that's me, if you wanna go with payback go for it :)
@JarJarBoy Well you're not SUPPOSED to but I mean, what's the point of diehard then? It increases bleed out time AND the maximum amount of health you regain after a second wind so it's very crucial for brick when melee'ing. Basically, if you're low on health, say, 200, down, get a second wind, and you have 1342.
Does this still work when your are on the same level as your enemies? You seem to be at level 60, while the enemies seem to be around 50. 10 levels below you.

You have two extra skill points? After inserting them to have the berserk you should've had 45 because at level 5 you unlock it and your level is 50.

You get them from med vendors and Doctor Zed gives you your first one. They do also drop randomly :)

what's the CD on berserk? default is 60s and with short fuse it's 30s right? it looks like 5s or something in the vid.. anything i missed?
