Regarding the manifold, I actually had problem putting it back. I had to cut it and weld it to fit the new cylinders and heads. Take a look at my blog:
Your 2cv is more recent and the port are probably not on the same plane. The exhaust are more towards the front, right?
Great technique Phil. I may have to do that some day.
Noticed intake and exhaust ports both have studs attached. Did you have any trouble removing the manifold? My car has studs on the exhaust and bolts on the intake.
