  • as a student who was sued by his university over loans, i can tell you that student loan contracts offer ZERO protection for the student borrowers. you can be gang raped by your professors and will still be held accountable for the money. reform is desperately needed.

  • american education = shit.

  • Boohoo! Everyone with student debt VOLUNTARILY signed the contract to take a loan. Did anyone read the clause in the contract where it stipulates the repayment plan?

Want free education??? Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, MIT, Yale, and many other top colleges put their classes on youtube to be watched for FREE. There you go. Education is free, but does anyone bother to take advantage of it?

Heck, most university professors will let you sit in a class and learn for free.

  • Students make banks wealthy. Only if they pay them the money that they owe. I am glad that I never finished college or university, and I worked my sorry ass when I went to that stifling hole. Defaulting on loans? Damn you are a bunch a bigger welfare bums than that single 'black' mother than had much worse misfortune than you people. WTF are you whining? you made your bed. Now sleep in it biotches.

  • fuck this bitch - she is nothing but a lazy nigger who signed a deal and now wants a 'do over' -- tough luck bitch - welcome to niggerdom! LOL! I didnt go to college thus im not in a LIFETIME of DEBT like this hoe is -- hows that for 'socially irresponsible' fucking dead beat honkeys!

  • Free higher level education will decrease the quality of faculty . . . however . . . if you take control of your financials while still in college, become a business owner before you leave college, find out . . . drop us a line. Use your live college smarts, build a career before you graduate college

  • Free education, why haven't everyone thought of that. Oh, maybe because it ain't free. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

If education was a human right, how do you claim you human right on an island where you are the only person. If education is a human right, then teachers are slaves for the rest of the people. Is that what freedom is about? To force someone to do something so that others don't have to take responsibility?

  • I know I went to school and I signed the "dotted line" and yes, I see nothing wrong paying back what I borrowed. What I am outraged by is the interest! I even understand these billion dollar banks would like a profit; fine. But the interest is out of hand when I'm paying interest on a capitalized borrowed amount: paying interest on top of interest on top of interest until I pay the bank about 40% extra on top of my borrowed amount. That's robbery, not justice.

  • There will soon be a new approach for paying back loans....Its called the gun and mask method.

  • Education should be free --- in exchange for permanent deportation to Afghanistan. I hear the mountains there are quite picturesque this time of year.

  • pay your bills! nobody says you have to go to college! you signed the dotted line saying you would pay this back! own up to your financial obligations and start being responsible!

  • @mandy26lez I probably would if the banks didn't get to conjure that money into existence and then make me pay that back double. Banks get to loan out 9x the total money they actually have. This inflates our currency- making the money you already have- worth less. That's why your paycheck stays the same, but groceries continue to go up every week.

  • @apothead i get a raise every year and i pay more income taxes every year thats just the way it goes but i always come out ahead. groceries go up EVERY week? maybe at whole foods market but not at my grocery store. i wouldnt say that banks are the ones that are inflating the dollar its the government not cutting the budget and overspending forcing the fed to compensate by printing extra money thats inflation. the money i loan from a bank is an interest i pay back not inflation.

  • @mandy26lez I don't shop at whole foods, I shop at stop and shop, it's all I can afford. When more dollars are created, the dollars that already exist are worth less. that's how it goes. You're right about the fed reserve, but banks also create more money by lending out 9 dollars for every one dollar they have. To make it simple, tens of thousands of people don't organize into the streets for nothing.

  • @apothead congress is the cause of economic depression. they didnt balance the fed budget forcing them to print more they had, then forced banks to lend to people they shouldnt have causing the housing market to crash, then millions to lost their jobs due to housing market crash, and the economy hit the depression. it isnt the banks that caused any of this its the government.if wasnt for government food prices would have stayed the same instead of the inflated prices they are now.

  • @mandy26lez yes congress also had a lot to do with it and still does. google search "how wall street ruined the economy" and read some articles it's no secret. the internet is a powerful tool :)

  • @apothead it still all boils down to congress. they decide what is spent and not spent! can i ask you a question did you have to pay income taxes last year?

  • education is free ...what's it take to read a few books and sudy what you enjoy and want to do...i am self educated and make great money as i am self employed

loans are scams don't do it ...find a trade you like and work for yourself

  • She had a number of great ideas, and then she had to go stick her foot in her mouth around 2:55. That was a pretty ignorant statement. Obviously the people who finish their degrees don't have these opportunities or they wouldn't be complaining about paying back their debt. Continuing education is a privilege not a right. They chose the universities, the degree of study, and the loans. There are perfectly good schools out there who do not charge $20K+ a year. Just my opinion, no hate intended.

  • What scumbags... These freeloaders took out the loans voluntarily and now cry about paying them back? I hope these parasites never get decent jobs.

  • I now owe in excess of $100,000 in student loans for a law degree the govt. now will not let me use to practice law. I have not and will not pay a single cent on any of these student loans, now or ever.

  • I borrowed only $10,000 but owe $40,000 now! Something is wrong here!

  • i supposed that someone put a gun to your head and made you sign for that loan, well fuck you i paid back my loan 100% and on time, get fucked you lazy entitlement crybabies

  • @100crawma You're an f-n idiot. Good for you I'm glad you made due of your debt! But you have know idea the difference is now so STFU!

  • @100crawma

"i supposed that someone put a gun to your head....."

are you working a job in a field you studied in?

how did you pay off your debt, working at mcdonalds?

  • people tried walking away from their housing debt & look what happened.

  • @schizotypalgrasp Pros and cons -- weigh the pros and cons of walking away. Who's the one thinking emotionally?

  • Yeah what a great idea. Make the poor uneducated majority of hardworking non-educated taxpayers foot the bill for all these UNEMPLOYED college educated people. Economics 101, supply & demand. There's no demand for graduates right now. No jobs. Since it's now standard OP to bailout the banks with Federal money, how does this help the rest of us who were smart enough not to incur debt? I have no sympathy for the banks, but this is insulting. Nobody forced you to put yourself in debt.

  • A standard of life that I've begun to live by is that life should be likened to a hobby. Life should never be lived SO hard that it can kill us. If we must retreat, we should be able to. Our institutions cement us to our obligations, draining all desire out of us. Education should be a right (while taking into account the rights of those who teach). A story that reaffirms my sentiments is of a girl who works SIX part-time jobs to pay for school and living expenses. A gentle "fuck that!" to that.

  • No debt here (Slovenia).

No tuition up in this bitch. A regular year of collage cost me 50-65€ (about 70$).

And that fee also gets me health insurance throughout the collage year.

I understand a fee for an education to help finance the schools, but what y'all have in the US is absurd.

  • Considering that student loans are made with money that doesn't actually exist, mass defaults are a good way to fight back against a corrupt banking system.

  • Someone who would go out and get in debt with student loans of 80 to 100 thousand or more in this country is completely ignorant. You should pay your debts just like I pay mine! Boo-Hoo! Get out your wallet and pay the bill so that the rest of us don't have to pay for your bad decisions.

  • @schizotypalgrasp After all we are all capitalists, and should make the smartest decision available to us. Sometimes that is walking away from a debt.

  • @schizotypalgrasp No serious company holds on to losing investments, so consumers who walk away from their debts when prudent to do so should be taken seriously. They are smarter.

  • You could do yourself a favor and look up Bond Markets, Discount Windows, and Macro vs Micro economics. You might learn why things you hear on the news from the experts is all bull shit.

I think you people know the truth but refuse to except what is coming. You hope they will fix it. Well let me tell you something, they can't fix it or do they want to!

  • I am attending a state school for under 8k a year and work. See so many kids bitching about their debts yet they sit around all day borrowing from mom and dad, waste all their money, and take extra years to get their degree because of poor planning. Just my opinion based on what I have personally seen. I don't blame people for wanting to have fun. But I see poor kids who work through school that laugh at these people for complaining because they don't know how good they have it.

  • As much as I support the principle, I don't think it will accomplish much to default on your student loans. The banks don't give a shit, because student loans are federally insured. That is, if you default, Uncle Sam will pay the bank off instead of you. Then Uncle Sam will come after you looking for the payment.

Hey, what a shock--big financial institutions publicizing the risk, but privatizing the profits. Who would have imagined it?

  • @roentgen571 yeah that wasn't the government or anything

  • @Ceebulsk450 they weren't able to do it without the government's agreement, but the banks sure didn't say "oh, no, it would be irresponsible for us to take all this interest without accepting at least a share of the risk!" or anything.

  • It's the same shit with people that got home loans. They bought houses that cost over 50% of their monthly income. Then you add car payments, credit cards, new furniture, electronic items, vacations etc.. It left you with noway to save any. I was amazed at people that got loans. I seen one where all the person had to do to document his income was with a picture of him a monkey and his organ grinder. The house cost $280K Do you really think he made $4k a month to just pay the mortgage alone!

  • Let me put this in simple minded terms anybody can understand. You can work your whole life given your money to someone else or you can save it. Its that damn simple people. You're time and health are limited in this life and to damn important to give away by being a consumer for Joe Bob company to take it from you. There is a reason they spend Billions each year on advertising. Telling you have to have stuff to be happy. Well it's all bull shit. Your happy when your debt free and have the money

  • Which brings me to that subject. I know 90% of these nuts have over $30k in credit card debt alone. They went on a party spree there first year, then had to drop out cause they can't afford or pay that debt off. Toss in new car, electronics, spring break and you are one broke ass kid and no job!

  • College is a SCAM. Accreditation is a fucking joke. I tested OUT of liberal arts math up to Calc I and OUT of general chemistry up to Org Chem I. I tested out of 3 math classes but was only allowed to test out of 1 chemistry class. Why the fuck can't I test out of more classes? I'm a bioengineering major and I still had to spend $700 on two electives. WHY???!!!

  • @TruthDevours

The exit exams for math and chemistry were $22 a piece. A doctor might spend maaaaybe $200 renewing a fucking MEDICAL LICENSE. Why aren't students allowed to prove their qualifications on the same platform? If you want to know whether or not I understand genomics, proteomics, enzymatic reactions or whatever...A. standardize a test B. open a testing center C. CHARGE ME $200 A FUCKING SEMESTER.

  • @TruthDevours I'll tell you why. When I went to college it cost me $22k for all 4 year's. I used to take local college at night to learn things I wanted to know more about. It was $23.00 a college credit hour. That same course cost $150.00 damn dollars per credit hour now in only 7 years. When the Government took it over they created inflation at the tune of 600% It was designed to keep people in debt. Why else did they send students 10 major credit cards that never even applied for them.

  • 40% of College grads end up with jobs that don't require a college degree. Some of the most successful people out there never finished college. We really need to rethink this whole college thing before we send the whole next generation into debt.

  • "This shit's got to go!" /watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w

  • @schizotypalgrasp My point is that the system of debt that we live in today makes it seem so good to borrow money so people when they are young and foolish get in debt up to their eyes but once they wake up and see the scam(watch the video link I posted to you) then it's too late, they are "locked in". I'm pretty sure you think that all money is legit and if everyone paid their debts tomorrow there would still be some money left? No.There would be lots missing!

  • How about this? Don't take out 100K in loans in the first place. How about this? Go to a stare school. How about this? Have a little personal responsibility, Your debt isn't my problem. I went to a community collage and them to a state school so I don't have loans and guess what? I don't want to be stuck with your loans because you had to have the 100k education. That's your choice.

  • This lady is just angry becasue someone told her that spending $100,000 on an education was a good idea, and for some reason, she believed them.

  • Problem: Economic down fall 08 Reaction:OWS Solution: World Government. I sincerely believe the occupy movement is a zeitgeist to move people into accepting a world government.

  • @pmaughmer No. no no no no. The OWS is to get Corporate money out of politics. It's to stop the rampant corruption and to stop our country from becoming a fascist state. Stop listening to Alex Jones' crazy ass.

  • @MegaVolcano Why do you assume I listen to Alex Jones? Come to think of it that is exactly what Alex Jones claims to talk about wanting to stop rampant corruption stopping our country from being fascist etc.

  • I just wacthed some thing about student debt on tv. You know, when you are signing papers you are responsible to YOUR SELF read what YOU are CHOOSING to sign & do not blame greedy banks, greedy corporations nor hollow insitutions of "education". That is not to say banks, schoools, gov etc are innocent. I am just pointing out they are not fully to blame at all. Individuals making actions are. You can't sit on your ass then when it gets uncomfortable for you then complain.

  • @pmaughmer In that show people were complaining about their student debt, how they were suprised their debt increased over time even though they admitted signing a forbearance agreement. What was the persons response? How the heck was I suppose to know what a forbearance is all I know is I didn't have to pay any thing for acouple years. Fucking idiots. Look in the mirror before pointing the damn finger. YES banks gov & corporations are greedy, & SO ARE THE PEOPLE THAT USE THEIR PRODUCT/SERVICES.

  • we need to scrap the money system altogether - watch zeitgeist addendum and zeitgeist moving forward

  • OMG ... pay your debts and stop looking for how to be a deadbeat.

  • just by chance 420 video length?

  • @ONEbailout 420 FTW. Never noticed that good spotting.

  • Don't do it. It's a dumbass idea that will hurt you for the rest of your life.

  • The only choices people are given are to become indentured slaves to the Banking system for life, or remain poor and work menial jobs when possible and die early because you can't afford the banking schemes. Either way, the 99% lose to the 1% every time.

  • college is a scam. Please do not fall for it. Sincerely, one who fell for it, and highly regrets it.

  • creating a union for people in debt proves unions are ripping the tax payers off!!!

  • Nah, I'd rather the government take my money to spend on a $250,000 dollar missile that they then use to blow up a tent with no one in it. A 9 year war, that cost $2.3 Trillion dollars & accomplished nothing except give more people the incentive to become extremists. Money well spent. We sure know how to take care of our own. I can't think of a better way that money could have been spent.

  • The problem is too many people go to college just to pass time and don't get a education, more like a continuation of the babysitting they received in High School! I paid off my debt in less than a year...but I had scholarships, I didn't waste all my time worrying about being popular, being stoned or even drunk. I had loads of fun, made plenty of mistakes, yet in looking back I took my schooling for granted!

Work for what you want....and then figure out how YOU pay YOUR way...dont expect me 2

  • At least half of you can't even spell so you shouldn't be at university. Get up and piss off.

  • What a bunch of "Babies" ? Nanny States produce Babies....listen to them "Whine" !!

  • I have a lot of student debt, but I'm managing to pay it off and I don't have a high paying job either. You have to refinance and change it to a 30 year loan with graduated payments. At first it seemed overwhelming. I thought I just would not be able to do it. That's because I had much higher interest rates and a much shorter-term loan agreement. They never taught me any of these things at my school, but I learned my lesson now.

  • I'm in Scotland. I went to full time college here. I had to support myself through it. Pay my tuition, pay for my books, pay for my tools (I needed them for the classes I was taking). You know what I did? I got a job and paid for it. I didn't want debt so I didn't take any student loans. And what is this woman talking about? There's no unskilled workforce anymore? So anyone who didn't go to college doesn't work? I'm willing to bet half of these people took some useless major, too. Idiots.

  • Repay? I'm 38 and I have never been able to even get one. I've paid for college "out of pocket" just as I do my health care, and it sucks.

SINGLE-PAYER EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE NOW!

We bailed out the bankers and now we are talking about lowering the taxes on the rich, I think there is enough money to go around to bailout student loans.

"We don't have a unskilled workforce anymore" Dead wrong. The majority of the unemployed are considered "unskilled.' So maybe you're right.

  • I say out law all education loans all together. Then you will see the real cost of education, it's cheap dirt cheap.

    [and home loans]

  • Mmmm.... How about this ding-dongs, go to the library and read books for free? Self learning, everything you learn in college you can learn at the library or barnes & noble. College professors are there for human contact only....and sex for you freaks.

  • Jeez, nothing comes from nothing. You people just seem like a bunch of GenY freeloaders who want everything for nothing.

  • You must pay, unless you believe in cheating the tax payers.

Did anyone put a gun to your heads to get in to debt?

Did you support governments that bailed out the too big to fail banks etc..?

It will be funny to see how people who supported big government in the first place get bitten on the ass by the big government they helped put in place.

Will they end up in jail?

Want cheap education? Let the free market provide it. It works for computers and cell phones..

    RON PAUL 2012!

  • Great idea!

  • @schizotypalgrasp /watch?v=EewGMBOB4Gg

  • @schizotypalgrasp She was young and foolish but then she woke up and saw the scam. /watch?v=EewGMBOB4Gg

  • Nothing is free.

  • As someone who is currently applying for colleges, this topic is certainly close to my heart. A lot of people are commenting negatively on this video, saying that one wouldn't be in debt if they didn't expect "free money," or "started a business," etc. Well, I'm applying to Ivy Leagues. I'm trying to go to good schools because I want to have a strong education in a relatively obscure scientific field.

I won't be able to do that without a LOT of debt. And that scares me.

  • @tinyartist18

The people commenting negatively on this video were probably spoiled from birth or never bothered to get an education. THAT scares me. We are supposed to support each other. I'm glad my tax money goes to the education of children in my country.

  • @Adveloq Thank you. So much.

  • Learn some Norwegian, save up some money and go to Norway. Better schools, no tuition fees and you will live in a civilized country.

  • It's a bunch of BS that you need a degree for a job. There are lots of cool middle aged guys I know who make a decent living in trade schools like painting, carpeting, plumbing, and such.

And this isn't as good of an option, but you can always work at McDonald's.

  • The reason people are in debt is because there are a lot of people who spend a lot of time and money in unnecessarily expensive colleges for degrees that won't make them any money. You should only go to college for degrees that actually make you money, like doctors, engineers, physicists, and lawyers.

If I'm like 90% of the students in my major at my college, I will be able to pay off my college debt in one year, even if I had no help from anyone.

  • I've been out of school for 5 years and have my debt 90% paid off... then again, I'm not a deadbeat borrower who expected free money.

  • mass default would never happen because you'd be asking all those people to ruin their credit

  • @pnoozi They can't default on it as they learned. The I.R.S. will take it from them when they find a job. They will also have the threat of having their home get a lean put on it. Student loans are only never forgiven.

  • Mine is 43k and rising because I let it default. It seems USA loans thinks I can spare 2/3 of my 900 dollar income a month and they didn't "want" to garnish and only get 10-15% of my income. I'm paying small to large debts off slowly with the loans next in line...but I've never made more than 22k per year, and now I only make 12k. That's why college is a scam unless you have connections.

  • @Di0genesus I take it that you let it default because you are disgusted at the whole regime.

Listen to me, call up the Default collection agency you are currently under and !DEMAND! that they put you under their Loan Probation program. This will set your student loan payments back to their original value OR EVEN LESS than the original payments.

  • I agree with and like her.

  • i have a simple answer... dont pay it. find a place u can rent or buy with cash. fuck the banks, they fucked u

  • And if you believe it possible for high school kids to save enough money to pay for a college education (even at a state college) then you're delusional.

  • The bottom line is that a college education is WAY too expensive. Colleges have priced their services based on how much value they add to your net worth rather than how much it costs to run a few class rooms.

Also, remember that an American with a college education represents the top 4% of global wage earners. This lady IS the top 4%.

  • @sdfkjllshadflhadfshl That is not true. Out of the 33K that got degrees 3 years ago. Only 1% of those got jobs that pay 6 figures and most of those were you guessed it lawyers! The average plumber will be $200k ahead in income before people that graduate in 4 years. I notice it's skilled labor today that is in high demand as well. Most are making $80k a year with benefits which can add $12k more to it. You are not going to get that kind of money right out of college today, but you owe the debt.

  • It's actually not the only debt that you can't discharge in a bankruptcy filing. Fines levied as part of a criminal sentencing also cannot be discharged. The irony is stunning.

  • YOU..... ARE A FUCKING IDIOT. Pay your fucking bills you piece of shit.

  • Im surprised how apathetic students in the US are. They should demand, at the very least an extensive scolarship programme sponsored by the state, at best a good, functioning public university system. Even many 3rd world countries have a better emphasis on public schooling, with wondrous results.

  • @Iker888 You moron the state does not pay for it. The tax payers do! You don't have the right to take other peoples money to cover your life style. You want to get educated you can save up and pay for it yourself. Maybe a little hard work and some dirt will make you a better, smarter person too!

  • @WizzRacing Cover what life style? That of scholastic learning? I study History, and there's no way in hell I can go without a college education, I'll even need a PhD to get a really good job. I'm lucky I live in a country that invests in its people's education, and I'm not burdened by debt like my US colleagues. A system where expensive education prevails will inevitably result in a plutocratic educational system and an ignorant, impoverished population, like the good old days, huh?

  • @Iker888 So you're saying you will be a life time student and skip being an adult? You do no that people with PhD's have a harder time of getting a job because they have no real world talent today or skills. So you better learn to write a book on how to stay in school for 10 years and never grow up. By the way you're free eduction that you got, someone else worked and paid taxes so you could have it. Now bet it you free loader!

  • @WizzRacing Thats not true at all, a doctorate will make it considerably easier to get a job. Especially in the humanities, "real world skills" are worthless compared to the collective knowledge of books. It's nice to be thought of as a leech, even though I work to sustain myself through college, and our population is happy to contribute to the education of the populace. No one even considers shutting the public university system down, it's the pride of the nation. (continued below)-->

  • @Iker888 And for a friendly reminder, the government is, quite literally, the organism that manages the taxpayers money; the state IS the taxpayers money. Countries with a system that uses the taxes paid by all to bring benefits to all are amongst the most best to live in, from Scandinavia to Japan. Caring for your own people isn't foolish, it is our civic and moral duty, it is the cornerstone of progress and enriching to human civilization.

  • @Iker888 You right, but caring is not the Governments job. It is up to the individual to help others. You like the idea of spending $21 trillion dollars and only way to pay it back is tax people 85% of their income? Inside 10 years almost everybody would be living off the system cause it would be cheaper.

I hate to tell people but we can not pay back the $21 trillion debt as it is. You would need to inflate the system 400% and wipe out millions in savings accounts. Good luck with that one!

  • @WizzRacing If you raise taxes on the top 10% of incomes, back to how it was 40 or 50 years ago, you could pay for dozens of well funded public universities with a surplus. Lowering the bloated defense budget would also work. Regardless, in my opinion anyone who is studying in a university is not a leech, for he will better himself, and improve society. When a government invests in education, it invests in its people. The better educated the citizenry, the more prosperous the nation.

  • @Iker888 You moron, the tax rate 50 years ago was 3% interest. You better go back and slap you're teacher for telling you lies!

  • @Iker888 You know how much is spent on defense today. Let me tell you so you're no so stupid. It is 3%, Now let me tell you how much entitlements cost medicare, medicaid, S.S. unemployment benefits, food stamps tops 85% of the budget/ Now add they put IOU's in those they are unfunded to the tune of $35 trillion dollars.

You're making an emotional appeal for a free ride. You can't use logic to defend it. I will tell you this, when you get old you will be homeless the free stuff will be gone.

  • @Iker888 By the way the economic output of Argentina is less the the state of Arkansas. I might also point out the Soviet Union had the highest educated citizens. It did nothing to better the country for 50 years, So that argument does not pass the real world test.

  • @WizzRacing lol, you have no idea what the problems in Argentina are, or how big the second largest economy in South America is (there are a few states that beat Arg. in GDP, Arkansas isn't one of them). And what kind of ridiculous argument is bringing the USSR into this? I follow a model of several European and Asian capitalist countries, which have very similar GDP per capita than the US, but much higher quality of life, significantly lower inequality, lower criminality, et cetera.

  • @Iker888 Dude you're so full of shit. Argentina makes a living on America out sourcing jobs to you. You also have no domestic economy, its all export's. You only have 52 Billion in total reserves. You're debt to the U.S. is around $340 billion from loans and late payments. You're inflationary rate is 11% and growing. The only way you stay alive is the U.S, short term discount window. So don't come here tell me you're horse shit. I deal with this shit every day!

  • @Iker888 And you my friend brought up education helps the country prosper. I showed you were you're wrong by stating that the U.S.S.R. has some of the best educated citizens in the world. It did nothing to help the country in anyway.

Now lets address socialist and liberal countries. The E.U. is tanking even after American tax payers spent $2.4 trillion in bailout money. Greece, Italy, France, and Portugal bond market is tanked. China is facing inflation in the 12% range and exports cut by 30%

  • @Iker888 So you better get you're head out of you're ass before you end up homeless and begging on the street for food. There are two types of people in this world. Those that learn the truth about the real world and how it works. Those that want other people to save them by taking other people's money and given it to them! So you better learn to take care of your self and get any job you can. Because the most important think you have is time 'Money" and once it's gone you never get it back!

  • @WizzRacing Argentina is in a shitty situation because of severe mismanagement, and neo liberal economic politices which devastated our national industry in the 70's and again in the 90's. Regardless, the bulk of the growth in Argentina comes from reviving the dead industries, not taking jobs from the US. We have much stricter labor laws that most Asian countries, so multinational corps prefer to exploit people more cheaply in the far east. (Continued below)

  • @Iker888 We have a large domestic economy which manufactures most things, from cellphones and TV's to food products and cars, most of which are sold domestically. Our exports are mainly agricultural, and amongst the largest in the world. Inflation is a huge problem because our current government is reckless. I do not like how my country is run, and education is a huge problem, because while militancy help keep a positive budget on the biggest university, secondary school is severely underfunded.

  • @Iker888 Please learn a little about a country before you decide to invent ridiculous statements. And education did a whole lot for the USSR, the system was just doomed to fail. Russia was a backwards country by the turn of the 20th century. Illiteracy was widespread and univertities were scarce. In less than a hundred years they produced brilliant minds that contributed greatly to their country and humanity as a whole. Suddenly great Russian scientists and engineers no longer became an oddity.

  • @Iker888 Europe is fucked in the same way the US is. Industry is fleeing to the 3rd world, and industry is the real measure of a countries wealth. A real model to follow in the German manufacturing/export based economy, which managed to grow even during the whole crisis. I don't know were you got that China cut its exports by 30%, but China continues to grow, and while inflation is a problem, its expanding middle class will render it autonomous from the rest of the world.

  • @Iker888 Your world of individualism and mindless work will only create a world of rich domineers and a mindless workfore, a chilling future. But for some strange reason I feel you'll never come to realize this. For the record, the world's dependance on the US is over, get off your high chair and look east, that's where the future lies. Oh, and do try to get your grammar in line. English is my 3rd language, and I should not be pointing out to you the difference between "you're" and "your".

  • @Iker888 You moron, The U.S. is the only country people export too! One reason you see markets take big swings inside a week. If America goes into deflation for a long period and people stop consuming. The rest of the world will fold. The only reason most countries are still doing anything, Is they borrow more money from America to stay afloat.

I might add, If you see gas prices fall below $50.00~$60.00 barrel you will really see the oil exporting states economy tumble. $90.00 is a fake price

  • @Iker888 WizzRacing is right we are the worlds primary consumer without us there is no revenue thats why its so critical in the US that we dont start defaulting on our debt because it will have a severe snowball effect and will crush everyone thats why i love this idea the threat of this action will cause planet wide economic and political tension and will make the government willing to do anything to make us stop

  • @marcuspinson People in here don't get it. America consumes 85% of the worlds exports. You see countries trying to weaken there currency against the dollar to help bolster exports. It will not work this time because Americans are cutting out consuming and have gone into savings mode. Right now cash is king and companies are divesting or doing more with less. If you see Greece, Italy or Spain default on there bonds you will see it destroy the E.U. inside a week. Americas 2.4 trillion to them lost

  • @Iker888 Again your wrong moron. In the last year over 200 companies have return to the U.S. and shut down operations abroad. You're really not to bright or keep up with current events. So if you got a college degree. You need to go slap your teacher because they didn't teach you shit!

China is not growing. They had to raise interest rates 3 times this year alone. They lost 30% in exports alone to America. German stayed afloat was its laws on going into debt. but forced to bailout the E.U. now.

  • @WizzRacing haha funny little man, your arguments, apparently created from thin air, are flimsy at best, so you resort to ad hominem attacks. China is not growing? We won't get anywhere if you don't crack the shell. The fall of US consumerism will merely be a speedbump, the world economy will re structure itself, and there's more than enough people willing to take the role of the dying American middle class.

  • @Iker888 "Merely a speed bump" unless you have to put food on the table. Recessions hurt. It takes a while to create that new wealth out of thin air. There will be a hole.

  • @baigandine Oh yes people will suffer, especially in the US. Developing nations are going to see a rise in consumption power though and millions more will be incorporated into the growing middle class.

  • @Iker888 Well you still have a lot of catching up to do. You don't even think about Europe and Japan, suffering worse than the US. I wonder if there's an implicit anti-US sentiment.

  • @Iker888 I just told you to go learn economics 101, You refuse. So you can make shit up in you're little mind and think the world is just going be all peaches and cream. Well it's not going to happen in this life time. So you better get to work. Make all the money you can and save it because going hungry sucks. Trust me people think you got problems now. You have not seen nothing yet!

  • I bet education was way better in 1977 than it is now. I know it was for me as opposed fo my children when they graduated.

  • Why on Earth would you attend a private university (which put you over a 100k in debt) for a liberal arts major? Are you a stupid person or just play one on YouTube?

  • Would it be surprising to find that the same economic system that fouled people's lives with rediculous expectations regarding mortgage loans would do the same thing in the area of student loads?

  • Wanting or demanding something doesn't give you a right to it. Education is a service, just like any other service or good in the economy. If you want it, pay for it yourself. Why should I be forced to cough up money to pay for some stranger's basket weaving degree?

Government funded student loans are mainly why tuition has gone through the roof. We seriously need a separation of government & economy in America. Whenever they meddle in an industry, it goes to shit.

  • What bull shit is this. You want to stay out of debt, then don't go in debt charging everything under the sun! You people amaze me. You want it now but hate to pay the damn bill for the rest of your consumer life. How about you save and pay cash, it cost less and your more happy then buying shit all the time to make you feel happy!

  • @WizzRacing I dont think you can save up to pay for the amount of college that you need to even get a pretty good job in your field and even then your chances of even getting a job after 4 years of college is surprisingly low so your choices are limited to get a underpaying job way below your skill level or go into more debt trying to get a masters or a phd so how do you think we should address this issue differently than these ppl are now?

  • @filidizzle the answer is simple. GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF EDUCATION, and out of the STUDENT LOAN BUSINESS. That's mainly why tuition is sky high. Whenever the government meddles in an industry, all it does is fuck everything up. Separation of government & economy. That's the only solution.

In the meantime, young people should become self-educated if possible, and consider starting their own business. I've been self-employed most of my 43 year life, and I've educated myself on many topics.

  • @WizzRacing This is about student loans, not consumer debt.

  • @kurumako Umm. That is consumer debt. You apply for a loan to pay for your education, In hopes you can get a job that will pay the loan off in a few years. You do it in hopes you will make 6 figure incomes to be consumers.

I don't think people realize that today you have 60% will diplomas. Most in things companies don't need. In the past it was 15%, so now you have to compete with 300% more people for the same damn job. Do the math and you find it's a stacked deck.

  • @WizzRacing If that were entirely true then you could write off student loan debt along with your consumer debt during bankruptcy. I believe your point about the deck being stacked with useless degrees is exactly why these people are coming up with this idea. We have all these people paying unreal amounts of money for education that doesn't equate to a job (let alone a 6 figure job) when they graduate. I believe that an educated populace is a prosperous populace.

  • @kurumako Oh no, They made damn sure when you people defaulted you could not just write it off. I also think you missed the point. When they started this crap, they knew what was going to happen. They import educated people with H1 visa's that have degree's in science, engineering, math skills. While the American took the liberal arts degree, social science, or some other useless stuff that employers don't need. You can't compete with people that have real degree's with that stuff.

  • @WizzRacing I'm not sure where the disagreement lies, besides the fact that I believe that college education is way too expensive and you believe that people who default on debt are lazy bums. Some of them can't pay because they can't find a job.

  • Seriously, where is the disconnect here? You agreed to pay back a loan at interest when you signed your name to the contract.

If gov't didn't subsidize schools, the schools would have no incentive to raise tuition - but lower it instead - because they would be forced to compete for students. When schools know the gov't is going to pay regardless, they raise prices and you get stuck with the higher bill.

And the next time you sign a contract, it might behoove you to read the fine print & terms.

  • @BuzzBGDP your right i should read the contract and if i have no viable way to go to college ill just get a job at Mc donalds thanks that was really enlightening

  • How many of those people in that crowd don't work and pay into social programs that they so love? Did it really cost you 90k to find out that you're an idiot??

  • I took a 30k loan out for my house then couldn't pay it. I NEEDED a house. Shelter is a human right is it not? Can I just choose not to pay it back?

  • @kinneas, Yes, you can choose to not repay a loan, if you are willing to accept the consequences.

Try to find a law that says a loan must be repayed or that you can be punished for non-payment.

Loans are a function of the financial industry based on the unconstitutional Federal Banking System.

The US mint prints money, the Fed assigns a value on your labor, instead of the constitutional value in gold and silver, Congress sets.

  • @borderraven Ok, cool. Everyone should just default on their loans then. The economy can still work if everyone just decides that they're entitled to free services and products. These people think that college educations are a basic human right? Maybe they should take a look at the poverty problems the U.S.A. has first. Slums, ghettos, homelessness, mass unemployment. Basic human rights are food, water and shelter. These people don't know how GOOD they have it.

  • @kinneas, Our society works on credit organized by the Fed. If a woman can go to a plastic surgeon and walk away from a $10,000 boob job, should I feel guilty stealing a few liposuction procedures?

  • i cant imagine taking on that much debt just to go to college. there IS always 2 year community college, then finish up with a couple years at a public school...

  • Nobody forced you to borrow money for college! You alone bought into the idea that you NEEDED a college education! You are wrong! Our entire workforce IS NOT depending on a college education! You bought into the lie, now pay for it! College, if you haven't figured it out by now, is a business! NOBODY promised you a job with your degree did they? If they did then go bitch at them for lieing to you! I bet you took a major in something useless like "classical studies" or something didn't you?

  • @STARFIRESOLAR, well if your so well-informed than speak up and let everybody know that they have other alternatives, other than going into debt to try and pursue a career through college education. people like you, are quick to judge others on their decisions, but you never actually want to "help" anybody or anything get better. your just as bad as the system that "lies" to people.

pointing the finger, instead of lending the hand.

  • @92680BOYD They have alternatives to college like getting a job, or taking some initiative and start a business instead of waiting for someone to hire them! Ever notice how colleges grow as our industries(jobs) shrink? What's that tell you? You can tell people things but you can't make them think for themselves. These things are out in the open for all to see. It's more fun to borrow money and go to a 4 year party than it is to go to work or borrow money and start a business isn't it?

  • @STARFIRESOLAR, you saying this sh*t like people are born with money to do all this. you have to have "money" to do anything in this country period. and not everyone (like yourself) has the option to just spend 10 grand or more to start a business. some people have no other choice but to get a loan to go to college or start a business.

your generalizing people and not even trying to understand that not everyone's situation is the exact same. and your probably talking about people "you know".

  • @92680BOYD You don't have to have a lot of money to get a damn job dumbass! I never went to college and I started a business from $0 with hard work and NO loans. I also employed 15 people! That's 15 families I helped, so fuck you, you don't know me! How many jobs have you created? What's your "situation"?

  • @STARFIRESOLAR, that's my whole point. people like me, aren't in your position from the start and because we chose to go to college and worked hard and made sacrifices. in your mind, we are stupid, because you got lucky with some information and right connections to start a business and aid 15 families. good for you, but that don't give you the right to get online and call people stupid for going to college. give me a break.

you know the system right now and made for everybody and that's a fact

  • @92680BOYD IN MY POSITION? I started from $0 and a will to get off my ass and find work! I NEVER said people like you are stupid and if you can find where I did I'll buy you a new car! I called you a DUMBASS, but that's not calling people stupid, it was directed at you personally! You didn't answer my questions either, why was that? And please translate that last sentence you wrote because it doesn't make any sence! I think it's time for you to go to mommy and get your diaper changed!

  • @92680BOYD Bull shit, people been paying their way for 100 years before the government become a bank for schools! You just made my point to. You said you need money to make money. Well get off you're ass and get a job or make one. I know 100's of people that worked all summer to pay for college, instead of playing all day and partying. Those were the people that learned what the real world was like. It's people like you that think yo have the right to never fail. Well you're failure is learning!

  • @WizzRacing, i did answer your question. and like i said before, the system isn't made to work for everybody and it needs to be changed because it's made for everyone to be dependent on. you can call me all the names you want, the bottom line is, i support why people are protesting and there are people who tried to produce their own jobs, go to college and worked over 40 years at a job and still get screwed over by this bullsh*t system.

your just lucky and feel you got a right to point fingers

  • @92680BOYD I was homeless for 2 years till I learned my lesson! I got me a job and worked my ass off for 4 years and saved my money and paid my own way to college! I didn't buy new cars, use credit anymore and told the rest of the world go fuck there self. I'm not a damn consumer for life. You spend half your life getting stuff, The other half getting rid of it. It made me think. I can buy shit till I die, and give my money to some company that cares less about me or be my own bank and save!

  • What everyone is overlooking is how university funding has been shortchanged for the last 30 years with tuition far outstripping inflation. I laugh at 25 year old conservatives knowing they've got screwed

  • Shiiiiit, I've been running this without a union since 2009 son.

  • Don't walk away from it...that makes you a thief.

Instead why don't you NOT take on so much debt, and if you do go to college you do some research to make sure it'll pay off. usually we need researchers, doctors, engineers..

If you can't pay for it, concentrate on a job. In cases experience is better anyway.

Now that tax payers are on the hook for at least a lot of this debt....thats another defacit/LOSS on the US taxpayer, government and economy. That helps no one.
