  • very cool talk. That radio host sounds like a guy on CBC radio in Canada.

I finally found a MONO 1959 Canada pressing of this after 20 years of

truly searching. I had one I borrowed from a friend in 1993 and it was a stereo

mid 60's pressing. I know you can buy the reissue anywhere, on multiple formats, but I wanted the first issue of it. Some records that can be a treat for the ears and this was a knockout. It differs from the US mix. Wow. It's also clean and full range.

  • At 18.01 Ashley Kahn is talking about an incredible solo but I can't make out the name he uses to describe the solo. I'm sure he's talking about Miles but that's not what I hear. Can you enlighten me?

  • I re-listened a couple of times, and I can't make it out either. Sorry. I'll listen again. Thanks for watching!

  • @JimmyHook he says "miles's" for sure.

  • @leskromer He just says "is Miles' incredible solo". If your talking about the part exactly at 18:01 or 18:02?

  • @d2theutchgold2 Thanks, now I can hear him saying that. I also agree, it's one of my favorite Mile's solos

  • My favorite album. I don't go a week without listening... Thanks.

  • Thanks. I first heard Kind of Blue back in 1965, it was my first listening of Miles and I still love the album today. Kudos to Ashley Kahn for writing the book and also writing a book about the making of A Love Supreme.

  • @ReluctantRedneck wow, anyone who calls themselves a redneck and enjoys this album makes me do a double take with what I would call a redneck, here in Canada. Jazz to a typical redneck here would be like chinese water torture to them.

    hahah. peace!

  • @freqazoidiak lol. Yeah, sometimes it hard to choose between Coltrane and the Dixie Chicks... NOT

  • Wonderful stuff! I have heard bits and pieces of the album here and there for my entire life, but now I can't wait to get my own copy... This was a fascinating listen!

  • Classic! Thanks!

  • Damn, that is really great! One of my favorite Jazz albums of all time. Miles is GOD! Thank you!

  • Ohhhh Jimmy. One of the greatest Jazz albums of all time....Marvellous post.

  • Wow Jimmy. You don't make a video for ages & then you pop up with a 50 minute effort.

"Kind Of Blue" is one of those albums i've heard so much about, but have never actually listened to. My loss i guess.

Now to watch the video :)
