did any one realise that they guy in the yellow shirt her so called boyfirend was not dancing in the second dance ... they changed guys so wird i guess he could not dance the dance
Charles Lane the guy with the bongos has been in more movies and t.v. shows then anybody in history! he lived into his 90s and might even still be alive!
I remember seeing this movie with my brother and my grandmother in the late summer of 1965.I have seen it rerun on TV at least three times and always liked seeing how Patty Duke looked as a blonde.
I guess I am the only one who noticed that the gal in the red/white stripes is none other than the GREAT Donna Mckechnie, pre-Chorus Line fame. She stood out from all the other dancers back then too. Had the chance to meet her this year -- a LOVELY person!
Notice that once Patty Duke leaves the dance it gets better and more professional-looking. No offense, baby boomers, but her talent was really REALLY limited. Case in point, her acting in the 70s version of "The Miracle Worker" where she flipped roles and played Anne Sullivan (shudder).
Uh, escuse me? Patty Duke WON an Academy Award for The Miracle Worker, was nominated for best actress in The Patty Duke Show, and was President of The Screen Actors Guild for a time. These were and are major accomplishments. Limited talents? Watch The Patty Duke Show and see how incredible she is playing two different characters and tell me that is limited talent?
Well you have to admit Patty face starts to turn red in the first few dance moves. No Patty wasn't a pro dancer or singer but she has still made her mark in the prof acting world
You know what? You're SO right. Her acting is just INCREDIBLE here. I mean, that scene where she's running (actually riding on the back of a truck) but flapping her arms to make it LOOK like she's running??? Genius. Meryl Streep would be jealous. Give me a break. Marisa Tomei won an Oscar, too.
I've been trying to find out what happened to the lead dancer in the locker room scene. His name is Tom Cahill; and I was stationed with him at Taylor Barracks, Mannheim, Germany in the early 1960's. We were both in Headquarters Platoon of the 535th. Engr. Co. Pfc Jim Plowman
jebeja is right, Ridiculous is watching todays dancers shake their....well, you get the picture and they call what they do dancing..Patty was multi-talented and adorable.
So this is where Shirley MacClaine got all her moves from...

@JeffsGreats Charles Lane (with the bongos) died in 2007 at the age of 102. He had a fine career as a character actor.

Ladies and gentlemen, that choreography is the one and only style of David Winters, and it was FAR from rediculous

Patty Duke sure was hot back in the 60's. I was in love with her, just like most other guys.

TatevossianA, Ridiculous or not, this actress was one of our favorites, whether or not you were black or white. Thanks for the memories.

Patty Duke was starring in her own TV show when "Bille" came out and she had to wear wigs through half of season two of her show!
