I think this is similar to us where our universe is under a microscope somewhere looked down upon by another life form.

In my own opinion, the Universe can't be infinite in size, because that would suggest that it had no beginning, and then what would the background microwave radiation be? If it's infinite in anything, I think the candidate would be curvature... yet for it to be of infinite curvature, it would have no size...

It's bounds are defined by the extent of the expansion. Beyond this expansion, I don't think anyone knows what, if anything, is there. I wonder if the Dark Energy proposed to explain the accelerating expansion of the Universe is simply an attractive force surrounding but external to our Universe.
Is it not possible that there is simply nothing after the last galaxy. When the universe (made up of galaxies) ends, all that remains forever and ever is just empty black, cold space. You'd be in complete darkness due to no light source available.

I think our entire universe is just a molecule making up another animal or object in it's own universe and its universe is just a molecule of another object. and its the same thing if you go smaller. If you look down at the keyboard..that keyboard is made up of thousands of molecules. those molecules are another 'universe' like our own with galaxy's solar systems and planets. and it keeps getting smaller. or bigger however you look at it.

When God in the beginning separated water from water, heaven (the space of this universe) was opened, and the Bible indicates that the uper water-layer is still above the space. Moreover, the Bible seems to suggest that beyond the blue sky (first heaven?) and the dark space with the uper water-layer (second heaven?) there is the third heaven of paradise. Beyond the third heaven there might be only infinite Divine light.

If the big bang theory is true, then what were the two MASSIVE objects that collided floating in??? I think that all it was, was the birth of a new cell, a new quark even....we think quarks are small, thats probably what WE are!!! But if a quark stops then the universe(s) would also have to stop...right?
Wouldn't an infinitely expanding universe need to consist of matter which could be infinitely broken down? Quarks and leptons.. can they be broken down? So if the big bang happened and finish as a big crunch or if the universe is infinite. ( i think its inifnite)

@tailspin37 I agree but my issue with the GOD theory (yes I call it a theory) is everyone's interpretation of GOD's nature. How do we know? I would would rather draw from something I can sense over something I am told. Christians tell me that means I'm going to Hell. Maybe. They ask me what will I tell GOD when I'm judged. My answer is our universe and other universes exist in a multi-verse. However they don't necessarily rotate or revolve. I think they float around the 11 dimensional hyperspace. and yes the unknown is awesome; it lets your imagination go wild. and that's why i have a passion for science. There are extra-terrestrials. Even though we haven't traced any signal yet, they are still there. If we're here, certainly there's ET life out there. And one last thing, AWESOME VIDEO!!! IT BLEW MY MIND!

You can't get outside the universe. The universe is expanding at the speed of light, and is time in and of itself. That's not to say the Universe is growing, it's physically inflating like a balloon. Every single thing is getting further and further from every other thing. The most distant galaxy is unreachable because by the time we're halfway there it'll have moved even further away than it ever was.
The universe has no edge, it just is and expands. It's a balloon with no sides.

In my Christian view, this universe is surrounded by a layer of water. When God in the beginning separated water from water, heaven (the space of this universe) was opened, and the Bible indicates that the uper water-layer is still above the space. Moreover, the Bible seems to suggest that beyond the blue sky (first heaven?) and the dark space with the uper water-layer (second heaven?) there is the third heaven of paradise. Beyond the third heaven there might be only infinite Divine light.

We are like dolphins, they look from under the water like a telescope and get a very blury picture of whats on dry land. They can jump out the water like moon landing to get a clearer picture, but this is 1 tiny view of land. The dolphin has a small understanding of what land is, just like are small understanding of what space is. Try to explain the big bang theory to a dolphin.. give him all the pictures in the world. If the big bang theory is true, then what were the two MASSIVE objects that collided floating in??? I think that all it was, was the birth of a new cell, a new quark even....we think quarks are small, thats probably what WE are!!! So if this is true, then wha thappens when we have microscopes tat can see farther into quarks? will we see another universe, or would it keep going until eventually it did stop. But if a quark stops then the universe(s) would also have to stop...right?

Wouldn't an infinitely expanding universe need to consist of matter which could be infinitely broken down? Quarks and leptons.. can they be broken down? I wouldn't be surprised if we were the leg of an alien table or an enzyme in some dragon stomach. I wouldn't care much either because we're all going to die and we never asked to be born.

You also have to ask yourself, If us as humans have the cognative thinking capabilities to question all that is around us, does it not make sense that our purpose is to figure out these questions? If not why are we capable of thinking this way, and what is the reasoning behind it? everything is so perfect for us... we are rich in minerals to build whatever we want (to some extent) we have the tools, we just need time to figure out what the tools are for.

there are few ways of the truth....: 1) we are an extra small microbes which are existing within some creature probably only our universe is one cell, and this creature contains billions of cells, I think that makes sense but it's still "Mad science fiction". 2) there's some kind of Multi verse but it's not a creature or something, it has some higher intellectual meaning which we can not even imagine. 3) there's only one universe which we are in, and nobody understands why is it the way it is...

I was high one afternoon, and while I was watching Monday Night Football, I thought about this. Does the universe ever end? Then a bunch of things just popped in my head. Like, what are we as humans? Does 2+2 actually = 4? We're just told that it does. We made math up. Math is a bunch of gibberish to an Alien. Although it serves us well, it's just writing. Why am I typing in a rectangular box? What are the words in this box? What are words? Why do we have feelings? Think about it. This is weird!

This might seem weird to most people but I believe our universe is just one out of an infinite range of universes right next to each other, maybe even a millimeter apart constantly bumping into each other causing big bangs. this is how our universe came into existence or maybe via a black hole at the other end when matter and time shoots out.

Interesting theory, but white IS something. White is light. Like stars. It's actually all the colors in existence blended together. Black is the lack of anything. That's why the universe is black. I personally believe the universe is an ever-expanding space, with no up or down or any direction. Traveling away from one thing is just bringing you closer back to it in another direction. Saying you can get to the edge or "end" of the universe is assuming it has a 3-dimensional shape.

I live in a house that has walls, outside of those walls are the atmosphere, outside of the atmosphere is space, outside of space is the universe, outside of the universe is the universe that we don't yet know about and so on and so on. I cannot for one second imagine there is nothing beyond a defined boundary, there will always be something it's just that as yet we haven't got a clue as yet. In my conclusion therefore and in my head the universe is infinite. (LOL)

It's also been proven with eclipses and measuring the angle at which the light bends around the distant object. Black holes have been proven with x-ray telescopes. Run the cosmic clock back in time and you will get a singularity. So what happened before the singularity? The collision of parallel universes.
