Are there any alternative to the Soil Block contraption? I would like to begin this now but do not have the contraption. AWESOME VIDEO! Very well Done!
Thanks for the suggestion oarfrost. I think that's one of the best uses for a toilet roll. For our project we grow several hundred seedlings and it's tough to find that many "reliable" toilet rolls :-)

You probably don't need to worry over much about the soil mixture. Usually any cheap and cheerful potting compost will do. In fact, since the big problem in raising seedlings is over feeding, you are probably better off with plain soil.
Of course, if you want to be really cheap (like me), you can make your pots out of toilet rolls or newspaper and fill them with the aforementioned soil.
