  • Just got back from their concert in Cincinnati. it was beyond amazing and this song was great.

  • I think the replay button "died o' dirst", or I broke it. XD

  • I hope that everyone will watch 'The Working Man'. It is an original song and it is 'very good!

  • Awesome is what it is!

  • what is the name of this genre ? , and irish accent ?

  • @timpa666 Folk, I think!

  • we are all on our own path to the same destination excellent

  • I there pressing 0 for a good 5 minutes after the song.

  • I remember when they invited my irish step dance troupe to come and perform with them on stage, because our teacher knew them from college or something and got them to our town <3 they told the best stories XD I love them forever!!

  • ok ok sure an it is a great song, but you must remember that not all Irishmen are drinkin men, lol lol I know of at least one in Limerick for sure. Still this is a grand pub song as well as the sequel "Don't Drink 'em Dry" at least I think that is the title. Am on my third Guiness and 2 shots of Bushmill's Irish Whiskey. So not to sure of anything at this point in time.

  • que merda ninguem ai fala português

  • I was doing a music project when I came across what was called "Celtic Rock" and saw a favourite band of mine, Great Big Sea, sitting in that category. So, I decided to choose that genre to do. When it came to other artists under that genre, though, I didn't know any others, so I searched the first one that looked interesting, and this is what I found.

I officially love that class now. <3

  • 00:00 to 00:02 is the best part of this song.

  • bill russell is a god

  • the only thing a hate about alcohol is that dry feeling i get the next morning! besides that i love it ;)

  • 240p.... we meet again

  • gaelic storm, a couple songs from third eye blind, and my fav anime bleach, makes my days off worth rolling out of bed. i fucking love these guys, im in a perpetual great mood :)

  • 1:13 - "It was nine in the morning, on a cold and rainy night". This confuses me greatly.

  • @zyldyks hey. they're irish, they're pretty much perpetually stoned. *.* the only part that i don't get is the random Lets go Shiela. makes me wonder, Who the hell's Shiela?

  • @twinDemonSong Shiela is the violinist in Gaelic Storm. Hope that eliminates your confusion.

  • @twinDemonSong Either a nickname for one of their members, or "Here we go shiela/ Here we go girl!"

  • @zyldyks This....this....Musta been drunk!

  • JOHNNY TAAAAA

    im from BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAston

love all of Gaelic Storm, great big sea and all the rest

    (shipping off to boston)

  • A thirsty man indeed ಠ_ಠ.

  • "*hic* Damn... i think that... i think that *hic* was my... my... twentieth... ONE MORE ROUND!!!! *vomits**hits ground. hard*" Famous last words...

  • The only Irishman who can out-drink all of Germany! SLAINTE!

  • FTW :D

  • Sounds like this Johnny has a bit of a drinking problem lol

  • Saw these guys last night at Irish Fest In Milwaukee. They made the crowd go crazy!!!!

  • @12Mogadishu12 i saw them at the oshkosh one earlier in summer and it was so much fun!

  • @beatlesrock354 I saw them in milwaukee

  • @12Mogadishu12 So did i they were great

  • Half of me is saying Well of course he died of thirst! Alcohol is drying, he needs hydrating fluids, preferably water... And the other half is saying, Oh, Johnny. What a badass. What an Irishman.

  • @thejanuarychild Haha that was pretty much exactly my line of thought...

  • All that booze and he still dies of thirst? That's a true irishman for you! And I can say that because I'm Irish. I can remember being six years old with my father on the couch drinking a beer. Me and my brothers would say to him, "Just a sip dad please." And he would say, "Oh all right, here yah go, now bugger off yah daft rugrats."

  • I love this song. Every single one of my friends and all of my family that I've shown this hates it. I don't get it! Gaelic storm is excellent music!

Adding insult to insult, Ian calls it "Garlic Storm". Grrrrr, I'm about to kill him!

  • i saw these guys at summerfest, and it was pretty bad

  • here we go shiela

  • @freedumb2003 aint irish from any way but i fuknn love this. :D

  • Anyone with a wee dram of Erin in his/her blood must love love this -- for the fun and the Irish expression!

  • Who couldn't like Celtic music after hearing this song!

  • I had my 19th birthday in Dublin, Eire vs Egypt in the cup that day too... 2 damn good reasons to get pissed... i remember the first 12 pints and shot of whiskey... apparently we spent another 2 hours in the pub... unfortunately I DO remember the next day :P. I only weighed 125lbs at the time.

  • Me being IRISH I love the music...I mean I always picture the bar erupting in singing this music...this happened wit my fav band Dropkick Murphys besides these boys...if they played this band in bars THIS WOULD HAPPEN!!

  • Saw them live.

  • this man died O turst!!!

  • gotta love the irish

  • my favorite gaelic song

  • Comment removed

  • the chord progression during the verses is G-F

then through the chorus i think it is G-F-A#/Bb-C

  • can anybody tell me thechords for this song? I can seem to find 'em on the internet, and cand figuere 'em out myself?

    - and this is a great song btw :D

  • And, now I can't stop listening. God how I love this!

  • These guys were in Titanic ;D

  • @MeLittleAbbey only good part in Titanic.

  • @abean16 Amen to that. Titanic came on last night and I suffered through the movie until the scene Gaelic Storm is in. When it was over I hit the rack. Seen Gaelic Storm 3X. Can't wait to see them again!!!!

  • LOVE this song, keep repeating it and I don't care if my flatmates think I'm weird for it :)

  • Psalm 14.1: And the Lord said there shall be no more thirst. and there was beer, and the lord saw it was good!

  • Makes me want to dance on a table, displaying my marvelous dancing skills.

I'0M THE LADY OF THE DANCEEEEEEEEEEEE.... Wait, why ... why are their torsos so still?!

  • @ExcelsiorW I will absolutely look up Dick Gaughan. I actually have a particularly soft spot in my heart for Scots. To the extent that I ken some Scots (language) & a bit of Scottish Gaelic. What I meant when I said Gaelic Tom Waits wasn't the quality of his voice but the lyrics. The fact that they both tell stories about a certain type of person. As 4 NC&TBS, this song reminded me of a murder ballad. Only it's not a ballad. It's a jig. It's a murder jig. I love that. That's irony.

  • i love how he says thirst! lol

  • poor johnny

    ;)

  • I love irish people and i loveeeee this song!

  • I love being Irish :)

  • I can't decide if they're a Celtic Nick Cave & the Bad Seed or a Celtic Tom Waits.

  • @tjburroughs Na, no Celtic Tom Waits here. Dick Gaughan is the Celtic Tom Waits. The tobacco rattles in his throat and the whiskey gurgles in his sinuses! He's Scottish. You should look 'im up.

  • i wanna go to the celts festavil where is?

  • could you upload darcy's donkey please?

  • I always thought of this band as good.. .until yesterday. I was going to see their concert in Northampton and I saw them arguing with a waitress in a small Thai restaurant there. The band refuses to pay for the food they already ate, saying that the food was slow. It was slow alright, about 30 minutes wait.. but the place was FULL! You can complain but really, don't you guys have the decency to at least pay for your food. You guys must be REALLY poor if you can't even afford that.

  • @vevolight Yo I was there, too! What a small world! I remember there were 7 of them. To dine and dash or even thinking about dine and dash is so wrong on so many level. The same goes for using excuses to not pay for food you already ate. I saw the waitress come and apologize so many times. The manager was definitely there, too. I couldn't believe what I saw. Man, what a disappointment. Totally lost respect for them.

  • can anyone tell me how to pronounce 'Gaelic' ? :)

  • @MyNameIsntCoolEnough GAY-lick, i believe.

  • I know the person that the song is made for.

  • i like it

  • its turst not thirst

  • @MrCrakerjack64 You're aware that the word is actually thirst, and it's the whole accent/rhyming thing that makes him say it like that? He probably put it as such in the lyrics so as to avoid confusing people.

  • @MrCrakerjack64 <-- is right, look up Turst, it exists!

  • @killirbob

It may be an actual place, but you can't die of location.

It's just the accent that makes thirst sound like "turst." Can't beleive anyone was daft enough to not pick that up.

I mean, I like this song, but that doesn't make too much sense to me.

  • @coopmeister3000 it's because the bars open up at that time.
