@Tenorforte Yes I do believe in the Gifts of the Holy Ghost but not as defined by pentecostals. The bible tells us "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control" Gal 5:22-23

Are any of these being practiced? I was raised pentecostal and our services would frequently get out of control. Especially when there was a "campana" where several churches in the area would get together.

Cool. I have dealt with the charismatic/pentecostal delusion many times and it is one of the biggest things Satan has been decieving the church since the 60's. Its got to stop!!! its pagan worship and occultic in origin anyway.

The Pentecostal church I go to is not like that seen here. Sadly, some pentecostal churches are way over the top and give the rest a bad name.

But i agree that speaking in tongues itself and the pentacostal movement is out of control. It's turned into a business and one statement said. 'when a Body turns into a business, doesn't that make it a prostitute? When God's people are turned into a money machine for whatever reason, to me that is wrong and needs to be addressed. Our church has to pay money pa to use specific songs for our worship services and to me that is greed. Church music is meant to worship God, not to make pple rich.

Cont..Does I Cor 11 mean that all women should have their head covered in church, but churches dont do that. How come? And the verses in I Cor 14 26- talks says 'each of you' has a psalm, a teaching... If 'anyone' speaks in a tongue does not specifically refer to men and v 34 refers to chittery women during the service. If this were so, why did the Holy Spirit counsel Catherine Booth (Salvation Army) to get up an preach for that seems to contradict that passage too. Study her story.

It is one thing for Catherine Booth to claim God told her to preach and another thing to prove it. She was a holiness preacher who believed in perfectionism. That is NOTof God. Whenever experience contradicts the word of God, guess which one is tossed out!

I totally agree that carrying on like a bunch of loonies here is not scrpturial, However, I just want to clarify one verse though not many people will understand and criticise me for taking verses out of context. I have compared scriptures with scripture here. If you read the entire passage about women not speaking in church, it was to do with Paul's concern about chattery women talking during the service, not teaching or speaking because it would contradict I Cor 11:5.

Well, I'm sorry if you base your bliefs on an experience, but I base mine on the Word of God. You have no way of knowing if He acually spoke in tongues either. Anyone can fake it or get taken over with emotion. Suggestion and peer pressure is very powerful!

The whole argument about the apostles at Pentecost is such an abuse of Scripture. That was a ONE-TIME operation of the Holy Spirit. Where, in this video (or any other "tongues" experience) do the people hearing the speaker hear the person IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE? They don't. Therefore, that event cannot be used as a "proof-text" for tongues!

there are two tongues one for edifrying the church with a interputer. and one for spirit baptism of the Holy Ghost private. where the Holy Spirit fell onto all who were in the Upper room spoke in tongues in one accord on the day of pentecost in the book of Acts.

Speaking in tongues during pentecost was a sign for the Jews. A judgment upon those who did not understand the tongues. This is a reference to the old testament when the Israelites would hear the tongue of a foreign nation coming to take them over. For the Jews who did not understand the tongues, it was a judgement upon them. This gift is not for everyone. The Spirirt Baptism of the Holy Ghost is not where you speak in tongues, that's bogus charismatic doctrine.

TJ this bit about 2 types of tongues is standard Pentecosta propaganda. The Apostolics also teach that if you don't speak in tongues you don't have the Holy Ghost and can't be saved. NONE of that is scriptural. The tongues on the day of Pentecost were all recognizable by people and not mindless babbling.
