I read the question wrong the first time, I thought you already tried to replace it :D
Anyway, it's not a software issue because the system that handles the resistive touch screen is all hardware based. If it's the original (fat) DS, odds are your screen has died. If that's the case then I definitely recommend trying to replace it, as it's a relatively easy procedure as far as repairs on handheld gaming systems go. Replacement screens are also pretty cheap if you look in the right places.
@ReddmanDGZ thanx for your reply, Yes its the original FAT DS I have tried the usual steps , cleaning around the sides of the screen etc, so I will have a go a replacing the screen , Handy Video BTW thanks for taking the time to upload it,,
@ReddmanDGZ hi, thanks for your earlier reply, could you suggest any links where i could get a fair deal on a replacement touch screen for my fat DS? cheers, (I am in the UK so I will need int post BTW)
I love ur videos. I'd like to ask u guys a favor. Do u think u guys could do one on a psp that has the screen problem? One where a part or the whole screen is acting fuzzy or can't be seen.
Great Video Reddman you and Zero are awsome, My friend has that same exact DS Model but the problem is that one of the hinges that flips the top screen up has come loose, what can my friend do to fix that problem?
always appreciate these "how-to" hardware segments of your show. of course the game glitches are cool too but seeing vids like this one feeds my curiosity on how these things work on the inside
The DS Lite is similar but different, particularly in the area of taking the casing apart. I have someone's broken DS Lite slated to go on the bench soon with a nonresponsive touch screen, so when I have time we'll have an episode together for replacing the Lite touchscreen.
a nintendo that touches itself. Another great Nintendo creation.

I am unable to calibrate my fat DS screen, will a new screen replacement fix that? or is it a software issue?

@t377y000 I got this one on launch week. I've seen them for sale at places like gamestop and whatnot that resell games/systems and flea markets.
